And from Texas at that. Us southerners ain’t scared of shit. I love my God and all of mankind. I remember as a little girl and a child growing up during the Civil Rights movement. It made me sick then and the thought of it makes me sick still. And I have an Auntie who was biracial who is deceased. She had 6 children and I was an only child. I spent the entire Summer at her house. God is good. 🙄♥️
For a Caucasian woman - even one as talented as Kelly - to belt out an Aretha song in front of a mainly African-American audience and hit every single nuance of the song, now THAT takes guts …!!!
@@evrgrnmom exactly. Kelly's voice is more versatile and can sing in any genre perfectly. Aretha is also very good too but she has to sing the right song.
Kelly has paid tribute to many artists, from different genres of music, she's done it amazingly well, she's so versatile, and her voice adapts to different genres so naturally. Who is the singer who will be able to pay tribute to this goddess of music when she retires?
The best American idol, yes Carrie underwood and Jennifer Hudson are great but Kelly is so versatile and such power, and fill with soul, she’s the OG when it’s coming to all competitions, no matter if it’s X factor, AI, the voice or any other one!
Not just the most versatile singer to come from American Idol.... I'd bet she's the most versatile singer EVER? From Pop to Rock to Soul to R&B to Country to Jazz to the Big Band era, she nails every single category! There is no-one like her!
I am loving the shade I feel from that cameo ... It's like "you did her wrong", "she spoke it out loud and called you out", "now you are praising her as if nothing ever happened", "how dare you"
I’m a 71 yr old man, I don’t think I have ever been blown away so quickly. Absolutely beautiful and grabs your emotions on the first note…Color me in shock!!!
The most underrated singer EVSR. She's just amazing the mosu versatile drama free songer of all time... She doesn't make herself look like a fool like other artists.. she's just Kelly and that's all she needs to be. Absolutely amazing voice ever 🙏
I love how most of the men seem almost disinterested or shameful (who me?) and the ladies know each note and the message. This song is fire! Kelly gets props for nailing the angst of this classic song.
It’s almost a crime that voices like Kelly’s go without the recognition and popularity that they deserve, and others at the same time are sooooo overrated. It doesn’t make any sense to me.
That's because she doesn't gyrate right on the stage in some skimpy outfit with half-naked gay men dancing around her, or flying through the air on a trapeze or make an entrance in a cage! She's a class act just like Jennifer Hudson which probably doesn't lend itself to live performances on a tour as much as these other major production artists.
@@Catalystresource because Kelly doesn't need to distract people from her vocals. most big production concerts are trying to do just that, distract from the live vocals(if they are even live, some aren't) If i go to a concert i go to hear live music.period.
You guys keep acting like Kelly is this underrated singer, when the reality she is one of the biggest stars in the world. She is also extremely beloved, you guys need to stop with that narrative.
Because Kelly doesn't look like a star or a celebrity and she doesn't look commercial she just looks like she works at walmart..Walmart... her voice is great but instead of trying to be a pop star and make a name for herself in the music industry she should have just sticker to Broadway where she would shine...
She sang a lot of Aretha songs on the original season of American Idol! Aretha paved the path for Kelly Clarkson. Kelly does justice to all of her songs. I love it.
Its truly Amazing how Kelly can sing any style of music & do it with such class & soul. She is definitely a talented, genuine, soulful artist. She’s beautiful inside & out.
I knew she was special from her first audition on American Idol, but she’s only improved. Saw her in Vegas last August and she doesn’t disappoint. She can sing any genre. Her last album was her best, but she should do something more soulful, like this. She can sing anything! Her voice has only gotten better with age, like a fine wine. People kind of take her for granted, imo.
✨✨Yassss, sis!!! You did your thang!!! The Queen 👸🏾would certainly give you the nod of approval. Miss Franklin is the pinnacle and will always be number #1, so kudos to you!!!! You slayed! ✨✨
She has that raspy soul voice 😍 Love Love Love it. There's not enough singers nowadays with it. The pitches she can hit without cracking too. You can feel the passion hearing her sing 🤍
That voice has just aged like a fine wine! She keeps getting better and better! Damn, that’s one of best covers yet and such a lovely tribute to Aretha! I can’t wait to see her in Vegas next week! So excited!
Voice makes me cry. So sublime. One of the very best singers of our time and any other time. She's doing it all without throwing her life down the toilet with drugs and alcohol. She is an icon and a role model.❤❤❤
Idol should really have ended years ago…I had to look up the past winners and I realized I have not heard a song or seen the winners anywhere after they won. Back then just making it far in the competition meant you had a great chance of succeeding after the show win or lose.
I don't think there's a song this girl can't sing and make it sound better than the original artist. Maybe not better but just as good. Your voice is golden Kelly Clarkson! Thank you for sharing it with the world 💕❣️
Aretha would have been proud of the hazel eyed soul sister, KELLY CLARKSON! SHE DID HER OWN THING AND IT WAS AMAZING! ❤❤BUT WAS THERE EVER ANY DOUBT? 😊❤❤
She's soooo goooood!! Haven't seen her do THIS kinda soulllllll is so long. The fact that others sung along, showed how true to the Queen of Soul's song she stayed. 💖
What's funny this there was alot of singers & entertainers saying talking crap about American Idol when it debuted. Now 20 years later the 1st winner is still popular and making music but the loudest ones talking sh*t have faded away.
