There was an absolutely hilarious moment at the Grammys this year. Trevor Noah warned that if any of the artists took too long on acceptance speeches that they would be punished by having Kelly C. take on of their songs and sing it better than they ever could.😂😂😂
I am here for the Kelly reactions. She is just incomparable and there isn’t a song that she has sung that hasn’t been stellar. She should be up there with the vocal Trinity but because she was discovered on a “talent show”, I think she gets more dismissed than she should. She doesn’t have to prove anything to anybody because all she has to do is open her mouth for you to hear the quality of her talent.
I agree. I also think it's because her success(in terms of charts) has been a tad incosistent, through no fault of hers because the music industry is just a lot more volatile now than it was in the past. She has seen tremoundous success with some of her albums but others not so much. The holy trinity had sustained success over a long period of time that solidified their legendary status. But on voice alone Kelly is up there for me, I could listen to her sing anything.

You really should check out Kellys duets to see how she can harmonize. Teddy Swims, jake Hoot, John Legend, Garth Brooks, Reba, Pink, Taylor Dayne, Babyface, Jewel are good. Also, the coaches song at the beginning of every year of the voice.

Another suggestion for you is "Happier than ever" but not the Kellyoke version, she did a full version that will knock you socks off cause you get the full impact of her musical talent. Also Reba McIntire's song "Fancy" where Kelly did a tribute to her and the Kennedy Center/ Reba was her Mother-in-law

Her duets are amazing as well! Her harmonies are so beautiful and respectful and never tries to outshine who she is singing with. She sounded amazing with Pink (live performance and on her show) and while she was a coach on The Voice (she did a cover with the other coaches). She did “Neon Moon” with the other coaches on her show and “More Than Words” on The Voice. Her tribute to Garth Brooks singing “The Dance” and I was actually in tears. She truly is amazing across so many genres but it’s always easy to recognize her voice and style which is so beautiful 🤩
My top 5 singers. I love love Kelly. Her concerts always eclipses her albums. She is amazing. Her voice is getting stronger as she gets older. She works with a vocal coach constantly she stated.
In my opinion Kelly is not put with Mariah and Whitney and Clein is because Kelly is so Vers. With the other three your limited on there style an sound. Yes they are amazing singers and i love all three of them Queens. Just Kelly Hit you with everything, not just amazing vocals but emotion and story telling and she makes you feel those things an like you are going through what she is singing. The other queens don't give me all of that.

This made my day! I’ve been waiting for more of your Kelly reactions! I know pretty much every Kelly album by heart and I’ve watched you react to some of her sad songs like piece by piece and because of you. Some of her upbeat songs are on her meaning of life album which is more soulful than her other albums. I’d love to see you react to anything on that album (whole lot of woman, heat, didn’t I, love so soft). Thank you for doing more Kelly Clarkson reactions. I can’t get enough of her. She does her Kellyoke performances at the beginning of her talk shows and I try to tune in every day especially for them. I enjoy Mariah, Celine and Whitney too, but there is just something about Kelly. They all sing exceptionally well. Kelly can actually do any genre well, and I think she is absolutely the best at putting the emotion and feelings into whatever she is singing, to a point that her audience really feels the emotions too.

"Sober" (troubadour 2011) and "How I Feel" (2007 Yahoo! performance) would be my choices from My December. "Already Gone" on Jimmy Kimmel 2009 for All I Ever Wanted. "Let Me Down" Las Vegas 8-12-2023 (multiple videos out there) for Stronger. "Tightrope" Live from Indianapolis, IN (her channel) for Piece by Piece. Watch the Nashville Sessions video of "Whole Lotta Woman" (her channel) for Meaning of Life. "favorite kind of high" performance from either Belasco (her channel) or the Kelly Clarkson Show for chemistry. Kelly Clarkson is kind of a total miracle in so many ways. the way she became famous-crazy really. by being the first winner on American Idol she could have gone so many directions as a singer. she could have gone back home, and found that show business wasn't for her. but no-she is a miracle of talents. she is a great great singer. truly. she sings as well as anyone can sing. and I honestly think the reason she isn't spoken of in the same terms as those singers you mentioned is because she came from American Idol. so that label is always attached to her. also her early hits were so pop and commercial. (and AMAZING!) but pop that people associated with like a Britney Spears type pop as opposed to having the r and b and funk influences she actually has and had. because of her show, and the whole kellyoke phenomenon-and also because she is asked more and more to do a number in the aretha franklin tribute that BET sponsors. or she sings "fancy" for Reba McIntyre at the Kennedy Center, or "I will always love you" for dolly and Whitney at an awards show-everybody is now bearing witness to just how incredible a singer she is. I have seen many reaction channels when looking at her stuff, they always bring up that she is a much bigger and deeper artist than they originally had thought. it is so exciting to watch her singing right now in her life at the height of her powers, when she has this platform of her show, and this regular house band, and her back up singers etc. so that she can literally just play and grow and exercise her talents for all the world to see and hear and love. very funnny and odd-the first kellyoke's that really took my breath away from several years ago were her Fleetwood Mac covers. Nobody covers Fleetwood Mac songs. it is just too special, too hard, too specific, etc. how do you do anything that can compete with the voice of Stevie Nicks, Lindsay Buckingham or Christine McVIe? those are all 3 iconic specific singers, singer their own material. it is so special. Kelly Clarkson made them her own. and made them new and thrilling. I already had loved her voice and her personality and sense of fun and real. but through the kellyoke stuff one sees just how smart a singer she is, and how as a singer, she has really good taste. this is an idea that is very underrated in artists, and alas, nothing can break them faster or with more damage. good taste. Kelly has excellent taste as a singer about her own singing. she has excellent taste in music, for herself and for the world. and she just has good taste in general. she is hungry to know more and to do more with music and art it seems. Linda Ronstadt is the only other singer I can think of with the quality in the way Kelly does. Kelly is such a solid singer, songwriter and musician now, that she can now explore all these different things that interest her as an artist. her show has really allowed her to do this. she is a thrilling talent and woman. we are blessed to have her in our world! thanks for posting!

Kelly 100% should be talked about in the same breath as those other singers, and I think it's been a byproduct of these Kellyoke performances that it's starting to happen. My favorite recent live performance is her singing "Lighthouse" live on the Today Show; highly recommend that one.
She intentionally said no to all kinds of endorsement and big performance opportunities over the years and she fought getting on social media for a long time because she thought it was vain to self promote. So, it's not her talent that keeps her from being recognized in a more commercial sense, it's her humility. People in the industry obviously know how talented she is (and hold her in high esteem) but the public pressure to reward her with awards, etc. isn't as high because her newer music isn't on the radio.
You should definitely check out Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire singing up to the mountain live. Really really good soulful performance and they both go so well together

My favorite Kellyokes are Queen of the night by Whitney, and Falling by Harry Styles and Strong enough by Cher.. I love them all. But I was wowed by these 3. today.
An amazing song is Nashville Sessions - Meaning of life from her album by the same name. I believe it was released in 2018. Amazing production and vocals.
Not sure if anyone has already mentioned this but the Kellyoke songs are chosen by an audience member every show. After singing the song she speaks with the person who requested it and what the special meaning the song had for them to request it.
For live versions of some of her songs and covers that she's released (mostly audio only), there's 2 "Smoakstack Sessions" cd's, an iTunes Session, and the Kellyoke album. She also released a few songs that were emailed to fans if I recall correctly (they're on my phone somehow) which included Bang Bang, Shake It Out, a mashup of her song Walkaway with Uptown Funk, and We Found Love.
Believe it or not, most of these Kellyokes aren’t even her best ones lol (aside from The White Stripes). The Kellyokes this season are next level! I highly recommend Kellyokes of Trouble Blues & Lost and Lookin’ (both by Sam Cooke). As far as her original music goes, The Nashville Sessions performances of some of the songs from her Meaning of Life album and Tightrope performed live at her recent Vegas residency (fan video but still very good) would be a good place to start. Definitely check out more KC!! 😊
I absolutely love Kelly Clarkson, and think that she has one of the most amazing female voices. My favorite of all time singer-songwriter is George Michael. I am super overprotective of his music. He was one of those rare singers that could cover anyone’s song, and elevate it to a higher level. As much as I love Kelly I have to say the cover of Faith was just OK. But absolutely the best cover of Faith Ive heard. No one sings it like GM.
Kelly 101 again 😂😂 A good point to note is Kelly rarely does any rehearsing and often hears the song while sitting in her make-up chair which she affectionately calls “glam squad” The songs are often out of the blue. Pride from U2 is surprisingly one. They thought, hey it’s MLK day so…. Also J-Lo was on her show, they thought surprisingly out of the blue, let’s actually sing her song since she’s here and felt confident enough she would slay and make J-Lo happy with it. A frightening task when the original singer is literally behind the door. Of course, KELLY slayed it. Songs are done out of the blue all of time and she thanks her band for adjusting to her “renditions” on the spot and often says we pulled that one off OK before seating to her talk show chair. At her concerts she often took a request out of the blue and Kelly and “My Band Ya’ll” - On a couple “entertainment/ talk shows” she has done this. Watch her and Ariana in that’s my jam but there are shows where she says to sing snippets of a song or an entire song without any words or cues. Also, Jimmie Kimble she is asked to sing Since You’ve Been Gone backwards. Granted she read a teleprompter and keys. She even sang a little tipsy 😂 at Blake Shelton’s Barmageddon Another important thing, the older songs on her LA location is during hsd break-up then divorce and he was her manager and may have been on set. He is known (said on TV and in her song lyrics) that he said/ disgraced her among peers, co-workers… To say Kelly put on a brave face is an understatement. Then she does her talk show for the first season. Three huge examples. The night she won her first two Grammy’s she was told earlier that day she had cancer (next day-false diagnosis). Emergency appendix removal surgery immediately after BMAs which she hosted. Emergency personnel were on site. But she FLEW to the other state lined up to do the inament Literally moments before her performance “I will always love you” at the 57th ACM awards she found out her divorce went through. It’s so interesting how Kelly has this unbelievable ability to sing with so much emotion and cry during her performances at concerts and yet go out on the big stage and sing. Granted on the 2006 Grammys singing “Because of You, her voice cracked and emotions were “on the cusp of tears” she held it together and smiled at the end. Piece by Piece is difficult but I question if “Because of You” isn’t as equally powerful. It’s about her mom and how she treated her and its scars after her parents divorced and her sister was re-united and other siblings were known more. So it’s all family. Piece by Piece is very powerful about her dad and Brandon (ex) Piece by Piece was more upbeat as per video but her music director, Jason, wanted to strip it down to the version we always here now. Listen/ see her music video, big difference. Go down the RU-vid rabbit hole. The best!!!
I really love Kelly since she was at her first audition on her American Idol year, and maybe because they see her thru that (with that first impression) then don't consider her as the ones you tell before.. and even she has a discrepancy with the Columbia Records producer Clive Davis in that time so her "rebelious" attitudes make her maybe not like them for that star role, but she make herself with her indubious talent and uniqueness throughout that sometimes boxed and yet competitive industry.🤓
If you want an awesome Kelly performance, I’d suggest when she sang her song “Sober” at the Troubadour, around 2011, I think. She also has sung it a ton this and last year for the first time in over a decade at various shows recently, and all of those are stellar as well! This song holds such a special place for me and many others. A lot of us really think it’s her best song. Everything about it is so so gorgeous
I usually love Kelly's takes on songs, but I actually did not like her rendition of "Faith." I think her voice was too strong for that particular song. I would have loved hearing her sing "One More Try" instead. But she did great with all the other songs.
