Soul Music is about the music, not the color of one's skin. This is one of THE BEST soul songs I have EVER heard and it still holds up TODAY. Kelly nailed it dead on with this song. If anyone had any doubts about her talent, this song put those doubts to rest. I love all her songs, but TTWLI is my favorite.

It's one of those movies that I could watch so many times and not get sick of. But I make myself keep it for once in a while, because it makes it all the more special when I do watch it, and I actually forget just how much I love it and how amazing some of the scenes are. I make it an absolute rule to always watch it at Christmas, it's not specifically a film that you can only really watch at Christmas, but it has that real up lifting, feel good quality that seems to makes sense at Christmas. I absolutely love this film- it is truly one of my favourites.

I love this song, because it's so soulful, something that a lot of mainstream "musicians", and I use the term lightly are lacking today (as well as talent). This song, and the way that Kelly sings it, you can just feel it deep down in your soul. True soul is greater than any Grammy or number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100.

I feel like a complete idiot...I'd never heard this song and would not have except I was watching the movie, Love Actually because Hugh Grant is a favorite of mine...and then the credits AND WOW...blew me away. I'm an old rocker and r&b lady...The only Kelly Clarkson persona I'm familiar with is her ads on tv for Wayfair furniture--twenty years after. What the hell happened to her career? Her vocal chops and writing style are marvelous.

I imagine that her next album will have some very powerful songs on it given that she has been through a divorce since writting her last album. Kind of like Adele. Adele's married era music compared to her more recent post divorce album is just... feeling inducing magic... there is most definitely some powerful lyrics there and in my opinion it is exquisite! 👌🏼 Side note: I was one of those people who refused to listen to her music and didn't like her just because everyone else did. It caught me off gaurd when I inadvertently found myself crying while accidentally listening to When We Were Young. I then fell down a rabbit hole and wound up jamming out to Send My Love (To Your New Lover). And ofcourse recently found myself relating to Easy On Me. Which also had me in tears. 😍 She won.

She has an absolutely amazing voice. I remember when she was American Idol, my daughter Sam and I would watch it mainly to see her and we were so excited when she won. We laughed and cried when Kelly's voice cracked as she sang "A Moment Like This" in excitement. We lived Grover Beach at the time and we would open the rag top and bump it on high volume driving thru town, and we would sit on the Pismo Beach Pier with the boombox and play it. Sam was just shy of 15 yrs old at the time and music was our favorite thing to share. Sam passed away January 13, 2019, four days after she turned 30 and when I listen to this song and "A Moment Like This", my heart hurts but I can't help but smile too because I can feel her with me. Her cd collection was stolen a few yrs later and I never replaced it although I really should but thankfully I can watch the videos. Kelly is truly an amazing, beautiful lady, she seems like she'd be awesome in person. I'd love to see her live, it wouldn't be the same without Sam there beside me but still, I'm sure it would be amazing.
