Super stoked. This type of heat strategy breakdown should be a monthly addition at stab. Very thought provoking. Is this against the WSL rules or not? that is the big question. Anyways the WSL has been pushing for Caroline Marks to win the World Title since Snapper. They have been over hyping her & over scoring her all year. She’s a great kid, well spoken, well mannered, smart but, her surfing is not up to the scores she is getting. Even Lima called out the WSL for over hyping Marks by the WSL Commentaries (especially Peter Mels & Pottz). That is when the WSL went underground with the hype of Caroline. I predict though, Caroline will be slightly over scored to Win the world title. WHY you ask? For the Olympics. Yep. WSL/Redbull/Olympics needs a “she’s the youngest to win a world title” script at the Olympics and her sponsor Red Bull no doubt wants her in two olympics games. Thats my perdition that’s how it works & everyone knows it. Been saying it all year that Marks will be in the title run...not based on her surfing but on the judges over scoring. Again she is a great kids.
couldn't agree more in regards to Marks. Guess the wsl can really get some mileage out of the 'youngest world title winner' ever, right? She definitely rips, but as you say..overscored imho. She does repeat the same top to bottom hack on her backhand constantly...apparently the criteria of "variety of manoeuvres' doesn't apply here haha. My moneys still on Carisaa at Honolua...especially if they get some barrels.
First clip gives me hope dude is shredding that wave on what seems to be a groveler. My only board is a 6’3/22/2’13/16 sometimes I feel I need a more high performance board for the bigger days all I need is to learn the board better
Emilio Murillo the biggest learning moment in surfing for me was realising that the more you get out in the water, the better you'll get. Just get out there as much as you can
