Hi. Thanks for the review :) I'm considering this tent for a year backpacking in South America, where I'll be doing some multi-day hikes/treks in Patagonia and in the Andes. Do you think it would be up to the task?

Awe would you say this is too big for backpacking? Could you recomend another alternatived

This tent could work for backpacking, but it is a bit heavier than you might want. The All Inn 2P is a bit lighter weight www.enwild.com/backpacking-and-camping-gear/tents/kelty-all-inn-2p.html

If you can't handle a 4lb tent, while backpacking. you should just stay home.

So I've heard when you tighten the fly down on this tent that it pinches the poles. Is that true?

It almost sounds like the user was tightening the fly too much? It should definitely be possible to get a taught pitched without warping the poles

Kelty lists the 1P as having a 3 lb, 12 oz packed weight, and the 2P as having a 4 lb, 8 oz packed weight.
