My pastor once preached on the arc. He said the Hebrew word translated to “box”. That boat had a ruder and sails and oars and you could direct where you were going. The arc had none of those because it wasn’t about Noah navigating the flood. It was about Noah trusting God to navigate the flood. He had to depend 100% on God to get them through. Trust Him 100% because he had no control of his own.

Years ago when I first heard about Ken Ham building a life size replica of Noah's Ark I thought he was mad and that it was a pointless exercise. Then I watched videos of why he did that it made me re-examine my approach to what it is to be a Christian. Ken is right - you need to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in a clear and straightforward manner in the foundational areas of the Bible to truly understand the Bible, the gospel message and the earth's history.

@gary combs Just a few things to consider: It's six literal days. The exact same Greek word is used many other places in the Bible. It is the exact same word with the same meaning 1 literal day. God created the literal first week and created time for mankind to understand within our limited brains and live our lives by. God is outside of time and it has no control over Him because he is the creator of it. Also God is all-knowing, all-present and all-powerful. Our brains (the entire compliation of all humans) have only a small sized box of understanding. God created the box, so please do try to put him inside of it.

Please watch a video of Mount Saint Helen eruption and the imprint of the trench and soil layers it left in only a matter of days. The evidence left by that proves how soil layers are distributed and layered evenly over a short period of time. This is how the Grand Canyon was formed, a very large amount of water in a very short period of time. It's important to compare God in Genesis with the father as Jesus presented Him in the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Genesis' Yahweh had two children. They made the mistake of listening to the wrong teacher. As punishment, God made them suffer throughout their lives terminating what had been an eternal life with death. The prodigal son's father took a different route. He let His son finally come to realize he was responsible for his own mistakes and then come back to the Father in repentance. I've chosen the latter Father to be my own, not the punishing Yahweh. "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love."

I think Ken really believes the ark actually happened. It didn't! They used modern materials and power tools and it still took hundreds of people and years to build. Noah and his family are just myth and legend.
So screwdrivers existed back then? That's news to me....re-think your statement. Ken used modern materials but Noah didn't so yes it did take a real long time to build especially if it was just him and his family. My husband, his parents and his lil brother built their own log house by themselves and yes it took years to do. I don't think you really understand what it takes to build a house much less a huge ship like the arc....besides you have to take into account how long it would've took to get the materials for it. And also set backs as well such as injuries and maybe bad weather. Just because it seems impossible to you doesn't mean it didn't happen. Maybe you should try to build the arc according to biblical measurements without using modern technology like Noah did and see how long it takes you 👍....no modern hammers, screwdrivers, nails, saws or anything ...just as exactly how Noah built it. God is real and his word is true and soon the 7 yr tribulation period is going to take place. Time is running out and I rather die having faith and love for The Lord and find there wasn't a God then live in hate toward him, die and find that He did exist after all. As long as a person is alive and haven't blasphemied The Holy Spirit (Matthew 12, Mark 3) he or she can turn to Jesus Christ and be accepted by him and The Father at any time.
If someone wanted to build the pyramids, the sphynx, or the parthenon today, they would use modern materials, power tools, and years, and yet here they are. Modern materials are required for coding permissions, Power tools are a stand in for larger crews (as required by all major ancient projects) and Noah had plenty of time to build.
You seem to think only Noah and his family built the Ark and that it didn’t take at least 75-100 years based on Biblical historicity. You are ignorant to the actual story and should look into it. Let go of your presuppositions and broaden your horizons.

I went to faith schools and had the bible drilled into me every day but, thanks to a supply teacher who opened my mind, I looked outside what I was being taught and realized it's just myth and legend. Virtually everyone commenting here is missing the most obvious point of all: Ken Ham believes that Genesis MUST BE interpreted literally, and has repeatedly stated that the sun, the moon, and the stars weren’t created until day four of creation. Did you see it? That can’t be true because if those weren’t created until day four then there wouldn’t have been any light to separate the night from the day in order to create the literal mornings for days 1, 2, and 3. I pray that everyone wakes up and starts thinking more analytically, because Ken Ham is an idiot! The six days of creation ARE NOT literally six 24 hour days, but rather are figurative for six stages of creation that each existed in varying timeframes.

P.S. Thousands of religions, they all have their own bible and they all think theirs's is the true one. You can not use the bible to prove the bible. There is evidence outside of the bible even archeologists found evidence that backs up the bible. When it comes to evidence for Jesus Christ specifically try reading "Person of Interest" by J Wallace he was a skeptic police officer who researched and found evidence (outside of the bible)of Jesus Christ and the gospels to be the truth.
The pope is a false "Christian" leader, like anyone else who doesn't take God at His word. I think society, empathy, intelligence and personal judgement all play the true role in what and or who we determine to be good or evil. And maybe the deeper truth is like Richard Dawkin says... good and evil are irrelevant in the end. But I do become concerned when Christians feel they are entiltled to force their beliefs upon others. Because my good may not align with your good and the ending this will lead to...are things like War/Civil War...which I believe is the current path of my nation. Rather, it's because we all have sinned (broken his moral law), and have fallen short of the glory of God ( failed to keep His standard of good.) According to this we all deserve hell. God, not wishing no one to perish (2 Peter 3:9), promised a savior who will come from the seed of the woman to crush the head of the serpent (Genesis 3:15), and reverse the curse of death. Throughout the Old Testament, God reveals more about what this promised savior will come to do (Isaiah 53:5), and what line he would come from (Genesis 12:3, Genesis 49:10, 2 Samuel 7:12-13, Isaiah 9:6-7 etc.) In the New Testament, all these promises find their fulfillment in Jesus Christ. He was spoken by John the Baptist as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. After 33 years of living of life we couldn't live out, he pursued the cross, because we were the joy set before Him (Hebrews 12:2). On the cross, Jesus bore our sins in his body, and took upon himself the punishment that we deserve. And In his death and ressurection he reedem sinners and reconciled them back to holy God so the we may have a relationship with Him.
