Shamrock should of held the world title at least once. I was a wrestlemania 14 and he got one of the biggest pops of the night against the rock. He had such a unique move set and wasn’t bad on the mic, He had it all.

I believe Bret was happy to drop the belt to Austin, Foley, or Shamrock, with the second-tier list being Vader or Taker (I think those two were second-choice because Taker and Vader had already been champs, and Bret wanted to give the rub to the first three guys who could have used it).

It's beyond crazy that Ken Shamrock isn't in the hall of fame by now I don't think he would've ever won the world title during the attitude era. The Main event roster was just way too stacked But had he still been around the wwe during 03-07 period I definitely could see him winning the world title Either way though. The man is beyond HOF worthy

I think Shamrock's top pushed was derailed by Steve Austin & the Rock blowing up as high as they did, then Triple H had to figure himself in the mix, you had Undertaker who was still a Top Guy, they made Kane a big figure, Mankind was super hot or being comical & being human & to put Ken Shamrock in the mix during Austin's Rise was gonna derail him anyway because Austin was more Hot wit the fans than Shamrock.

WWE was stacked at the time. If it wasn’t, and Vince woulda invested more training and acting into Ken, he woulda been one of the greats! He did the best he could in that short period of time. Never really had a chance to get seasoned in my opinion.

Honestly Shawn was technically already over so I think his career was derailed by the fact that Bret’s contract ended and he wanted to jump companies but wasn’t willing to drop the title because it was his hometown and wanted to instead force Vince to vacate it and we’d didn’t trust ken because bret and him werE friends

Vince should've pushed him with one wwf chip run. His promos weren't the best-selling and that was his weakness. I believe Bret would've put him over but Shawn politics stopped a lot of stuff. Even stopped Owen's push. Owen vs Shawn after the screw job would've been magic.

Bruh there was no scenario where Ken shamrock was ever going to get a world title run, not with the way they were booking him

They had so many stars at that time, they probably felt they didn't "need" Ken. Only later with Kurt and Brock did they figure out how to sell real fighters as wrestlers, Ken walked so those guys could run.

Bret was willing to lose to Shawn he just didn’t wanna do it in Canada. And also Shawn told him to his face that he would never put him over. That I’m turn led to Vince conspiring the Montreal screwjob

I think Shamrock's timeline is all messed up. Bret left in late '97. Shamrock won the IC title in 'late '98. So I don't Bret leaving derailed his career or ended his push. It COULD'VE, I don't know obviously, but they gave him the IC and tag titles way after Bret was long gone so that doesn't seem likely. And to say that he thought (when Bret was still there) that it would be him, Rock, Bret and Steve at the top seems strange, since only ONE of them had BEEN World Champ at that point and that was Bret. Rock was nowhere near ready at that time. Maybe Ken is just thinking this way because Bret liked him, and was willing to lose the belt to him OR Steve (and Bret liked Rocky also) but the four of them were never close to the top at the same time.

I thought wrestling is scripted. I respect him more as a UFC fighter. UFC is actually real fighting

Truth is Stone Cold and the Rock grew a huge following and were mega stars. Ken wasn't as liked by fans as the Rock and Stone Cold were, so they ran with those two stars instead. That's what really happened! Shamrocks version isn't reality.

Shamrock was super over in 1998. In 1999 they kinda wasted his talent giving him stupid gimmicks and booking him with the likes of Val Venis and Billy Gunn etc. He should’ve been pushed to the main event.
