Great attitude on trying your best regardless of the outcome. That is the position of the world's most successful people. Quitters are haunted by regret - something you will never have to worry about.
Now you can say you were at the highest and lowest point on the PCT. It's good that you lightened your pack but I'm thinking you'll need some warm weather gear in a few weeks. You always can have it sent to you or pull a Mary Mansfield and purchase some along the way. The Zombie spider is what we call a writing spider here in South Carolina, because it looks like he as done some writing on his web. Hike On!
Hey, Ken! Great to see you guys leaving some footprints on Washington soil!! Actually got out and did a TM run the other day... went to a trail crossing about 29 trail miles south of Snoqualmie Pass. Had to try two different ways to finally get there. No, you can't always rely on 'Google Maps'. About the only ones who go in there are hunting parties, I think. 50 minutes for the last 15 miles!! Met two couples (separately) who were section hiking. I know there's a fire off to the east of Chinook Pass and it hadn't been threatening the Trail, but some NE winds are coming in at the start of next week, so hoping it doesn't get pushed into a problem situation for you. Hang in there, and do what you can!! Looking good out there! Ed
That's a Katadyn water filter with 3 liter bag, they do not open from the other end they have a bigger mouth. You're thinking of cnoc bag that is commonly used with a Sawyer filter. Although cnoc does make a bag with a larger mouth that opens at the other end too that fits a Katadyn filter, but that's not what she's using.
I am getting a couple of the same stories following both you guys and Heather. I like the one about Gossimer Gear. I don’t like spiders and snakes, both of which you are fond of showing, Hey, that would make a good song. Oh, wait, Ray Stevens beat me to it. You all are gutsier than me. I don’t know that I would have tried the Watermelon Berry unless I knew for sure what it was. I am loving the scenery. Trek on my friends!!!!
