You know what makes me doubt that theory? How Ken explained why, if you look online, it’ll look like they’re still together. The whole “her family thinks that they’re still together. When we go to family events, they act like I’m the friend, and ask about her husband like they’re still together.” He said that very early on. That makes me think they threw that line in the script, to make the storyline sound interesting … but also knowing that CC’s would look into it and start talking. It kind of explained it, before we found it. Like getting in front of the story/lie. I just don’t see a couple signing up to be on a reality show about marriage and Black excellence (although we know they’ve veered off that path) with a situation this shaky, in real life. It doesn’t make sense that they’ve been separated for four years, and the family had no clue. It doesn’t make sense when you go online that she’s either by herself posing, or with her family, including HER HUSBAND, not Ken … but they live together and are getting married though. There should be at least two years of pictures somewhere with the two of them. On the one hand, I get that she might not want to flaunt it and make her ex mad. But that means you’re not ready to stand up for your relationship either. It’s not that serious. But mostly, if you’re fully really separated, you’re living separate lives, and that means having a spouse without having to hide it. It’s not an affair, just because y’all are on paper, when you’ve completely broken up. IJS The divorce is a formality. You know what else doesn’t make sense? Ken is right there in the house, and it looks like dad is involved, so why does Ken act like he’s never met him? The children saying “we think they should get married” seems to sell the story as real, but I can’t say I believe it. But maybe that takes us back to the first idea. Maybe it’s real, but Tricia and Ken aren’t in on how the cast is going to handle them. What we DO know is, whether it’s “real” or “scripted and manufactured,” something is OFF.
