Kendrick Lamar shows off his lyrical skills when given different topics or scenarios to freestyle about. He kills it! #kendricklamar #freestyle #hiphop
This has to be one of the most important things for freestyling. Not that I'm very good at it lol. But I see so many people rush like they have to always be saying stuff at every second. These guys who slow down and spit some shorter bars at times so they can think always do better.
I love watching great rappers do this bc you can literally seeing them composing it with their fingers/hands on the spot. Anyone who says this isn’t real music is just ignorant.
1:25 Smh, nobody in the room heard him say, “I need yall to throw some words up” I would’v loved to see kendrick freestyle with random words thrown at him.
This is really him rapping off the top of his head despite the first verse. People saying it's whack cause they brainwashed with other freestyles that rappers more than likely wrote before rapping them. King Kendrick is the pac of our generation
He totally changed my life too. I don't think this generation appreciates this man as much as they should while he is still here with us. I'll be telling my kids about this legend one day.
@@adarshye1 Do it like kendrick, all fluid, like streamline, gotta spit take it like an emetic, and tug the masses hearts when we think wise, my brain grew three size call me the grinch, something died inside me that day, it was an ominous stench, the smell of shame in my sweat made the dog wanna jet ears horizontal, just tryna order a bottle straight to my door, so i don’t have to think anymore that’s why freestyling is so hard we have so much free time during the summer, that when you’re back down to earth, can only wonder how will i fit this in, when i sometimes get stuck at the pen more like i write it on iphone, it really depends
Pretty crazy to see Kendrick actually freestyle. Im pretty sure he doesnt practice freestyling what so ever because his prowess is in his thoughtful meditated songs/song structure
LOTS OF YOUR FAV DO IT NEXT TIME YOU THINK HOW IS HIS FLOW SO PERFECT CUZ ITS PRE WRITTEN ALREADY .... LOTS BATTLE RAPPERS DO THIS AND THEY MAY FREESTYLE BITS OF WHAT A PERSON IS WEARING TO MAKE IT SOUND LIKE ITS A LEGIT FREESTYLE WHEN IN FACT THEY JUST EDITING AS THEY GO CROPPING REAL TIME INTO PRE EXISTING BARS
@@Bobbybalboa735 That doesn't take away from it for me. If they are able to prepare it in a way that can be seamlessly edit to incorporate bits from real life then that's impressive in itself. Freestyle is a spectrum.
Listening to kendrick freestyle is like watching a grandmaster play chess. His head thinks like 3 bars faster than the beat. Still flows like the waves. Poems.
Did y'all not watch the whole video.. After how much a dollar cost.. The rest of that shit was off the top of his head. You can see him trynna come up with words to spit.. Respect the art of real hip hop. Lemme see you freestyle for 7-8 minutes
Kendrick said his album was almost called "How Much A Dollar Cost". That was the first verse from that particular song. He was revealing the "Thesis" for the story of "To Pimp A Butterfly". You can't hate that he spit that verse, you should thank the man for sharing a piece of it earlier than you would have experienced it.
Lol dude you're reaching. At the time nobody would have even thought of that people would either thinks it's a written or a freestyle not something revealing the whole concept of his next album lol.
Kendrick ponders the true value of money - what does attaining wealth really cost? Love, health, soul? In this case it “cost” Kendrick his place in Heaven - something he would consider priceless. Furthermore, this rhetorical question examines the “value” of wealth. While Kendrick places a small value on a dollar, to the homeless man, its worth is inherently greater. Feel me?
it’s crazy seeing people talk about how excited they were for the album before it came out and now that it’s released it’s is considered the best hh album ever
Fascinating watch. Kendrick has always had a very natural relationship with rhythm. He finds pockets that other rappers don't, he's dropping in and out on 16th notes like a jazz drummer might. Watching him do this off the top of his head proves that it's totally natural. That flow is totally unique. Nobody competes with KDot.
I hate seeing all these comments that state "i" was whack or bad...Listen to the lyrics and you might realize how deep Kendrick was actually digging in that song. It had a great meaning and amazing flow, keep it up Kdot
A great track doesn't only consist of great lyrics. It has to be well produced. It's like saying the track "I Used to Love H.E.R." would be dope under the Dora instrumental. The way he changed his voice killed the track in my opinion.
Kendrick hasn't skipped a beat. Still murdering beats. He's got that 5 o'clock, Starter braids, been locked in the studio look. Can't wait for his new album. Didn't know Big Boy could spit like that.
I read somewhere that a freestyle is to be able to rap over a new beat, (that can be written) for example, you can rap a written song as long as it's over a different beat! Sorry if I got my facts wrong haha 😂
They mostly just ask for something live, it can be a written verse or something off the head. Most rappers tend to do a written verse first, then freestyle.
Big Boy killed K Dot, the guy is tooo funny. Looking forward to Kendricks album though.. Drop by our channel and watch the TDE features we have with Kendrick & Schoolboy if you have a minute..
***** Thank you. We have a new 'Day In The Life' with Ty Dolla $ign that we just dropped which also might interest you too, he takes mushrooms & smokes all day! We also have some more stuff from Joey Bada$$ coming out and a handful of other artists, stay tuned and don't forget to subscribe for all the latest video's..
I just love how hard Kendrick is thinking in this freestyle , he puts so much work in his music, he is original. Yeah he froze up a bit but he brought it. also hearing Kendrick laugh is funny lmao😂
Omar Zap He actually did that to give us a verse from his new album, after that verse he clearly stated ''This is the freestyle beginning'' so he knew what he was doing the whole time.
itsC0ll0n Replying to two year old comments, sick. Also, don’t even know what you’re implying with that. Do you know what irony means? I also don’t hate yachty anymore, although his music isn’t all that good still
