+C - 2Da - Jay His first big tour was as a hypeman of Jay Rock who was touring with Tech N9ne. Tech always uses his hands to catch the rhytm so I wouldnt be surprised if Kendrick learned it from him.
"phantoms ain't the only thing that suicidal, open up the doorway" ' why he's the best... it flows so much but no one even catches that there's so much more it's crazy
Kendrick absolutely thrashed Drake when they both had time to produce full songs. Imagine how worse it would have been for Drake if it was a live rap battle. Especially if they confiscated his blackberry
This verse was actually really deep. He said his father will be carried by the big six. Six people carry a coffin to the hearse. Some of yall didnt catch that
AIRG01 12 is slang for the police and also 12 is the amount of people in a jury Jay Z rapped a line about this on Drug Dealers Anonymous I told Emory to tell about me (snitch on me) he told 12 (cops) give me 12 (send him to court) he told them to go to hell about me
The most technically gifted of his generation. There's plenty of great rappers. But not a single that's a complete package - flow, punchline delivery and timing, tone of voice, rhyme complexity, wordplay. He's got it all.
I love how human and emotion filled this freestyle (and his music) is. He even chuckles and smiles at a funny line he spits 2:45 Then immediately captures the serious tone of the following lines, cause he feels them as he raps them.
Lmao Kendrick's soul takes over every time he spits bars. After that first verse the expression on his face is priceless as he slowly comes back to reality, and then his soul takes over again. He's on a whole other level.
"He Said I'm 7 goin on 67" - Has so many implications. Never grew up. Probably has a much more intricate backstory to it. God I love the way Kendrick spits.
1:53 you’re seeing someone diving into their mind but also so tapped into their spirit that nothing is stopping the flow - totally feeling the next things he’s about to say. he’s not focused on anything else- his ego is out. God Gift
any one who raps knows that movement and mannerisms helps to improve and keep your flow on track... its just a natural reaction.. thats his thing every rapper has their own
As embarrassing as it is to admit💯, His raps are so awe inspiring that I seriously somewhat semi-tear up just listening to his level of greatness ☝🏻 This is an example of why True lyrical mastery and substance, whenever put up against catchy melodies, will ALWAYS always prevail✔️ This is brilliant
thank you for the support. That means a lot to me. Sometimes I make the mistake of comparing myself to other rappers who have been rapping for a long time. I need to just be the best that I can be. I need to just by myself. Thanks for the comment.
hahaha, kendrick just be breaking into these intricate, deep stories in his raps that just come out of nowhere. They are just so vivid though. He is putting pressure on alot of people.
WHO GIVES A FUCK IF ITS WRITTEN FREESTYLE DOESNT MEAN OFF THE TOP EVERYTIME IT MEANS U SPIT FREELY WITH NO MAIN TOPIC LETS SEE 1 OF U MEMORIZE THIS WHOLE THIING AND SPIT IT ON THE SPOT WITH OUT MESSING UP WITH OUT KNOWING WHAT BEAT FUNK FLEX IS GONNA THROW AT YOU LIVE ON RADIO....
its almost like he can see 4 bars ahead into the future and build his freestyle around that. what this man can do with words is absolutely outstanding.
Kendrick is a brilliant writer. So unique. When a person can actually write lyrics that paint listeners a picture and make perfect sense, that makes that person a Artist.
This one time I was reading a comment section and someone said "if you like Kendrick over A$AP you don't know anything about music". I considered correcting him but realized he was too far gone.
Christian8341224 Probably. I honestly enjoy A$AP's flow especially on his mixtape. I'm even a bit of a fan of his overall style and approach, but people who say he's better than Kendrick is just too far for me.
you do realize that kendrick didnt actually freestyle, he decorated all that shit, right? thats what musicians do, they decorate lyrics, this was not a freestyle, although a$ap's was worse, he was actually freestyling so i have much more respect for him.
Victor BP At the same time there are multiple definitions for "freestyling". Yes A$AP's was more than likely off the top of his head, and yes Kendrick's is obviously written. My comment was suppose to be based off of GKMC vs Long.Live.A$AP.
He was going in that second part, he fumbled a bit and still just made this even better. You could see how driven he was and determined he wasn't even shook. This dudes already a real legend
I can sense in his face that he's reliving the past, and everything he can remember is just replaying in his head. So, i'm kinda agreeing with @Blake Buttman on the stress ball part.
