@@mildmayheadless5217 do u have the same emotion for Drake in the 8am in Charolette video?.. that brought a tear to my eyes watching Drake n his kid in that powerful scene with the “hate survivor” message on the clothes… so powerful so impactful always ahead of the curve drake. Standing ovation
Yeah idk if an album is coming but if not, we have a small EP from the songs he dropped. Plus I’d rather dot take his time with an album than just drop something right after the beef
@@RobMarkmanKDot did 17 push ups He did that for a reason I believe he symbolizing Drake and under 18 which is why he only did 17 push ups it was symbolic
@@hoc1992 I would accept that as well but i wouldn’t be mad if Dot was so inspired he said forget the deep concepts and just rapped lol never seen it before would be interesting
If an album comes he could very well drop it on August 5, 2024. The one year Anniversary of the Mississippi River Brawl with the chairs when Black people came together. If he is about black unity that could be a great POP OUT DATE to drop an EP or Album about unity. His current trajectory is on fire right now. Cease the moment because it's your worldwide Time. ❤
@@Foe_KREALOFFICAL you think Whitney is faking it? Multiple people have confirmed they all still live together in the nyc apartment and she now confirmed it by being with him. They’ve also all been seen together and captured on camera. So no it’s not fake, the rumor was made up. Btw the kids look just like him lol those are his kids
They both tried to discredit any allegations they said. Don't necessarily make it true what they said or what they dispelled. We don't know these ppl, so we gotta take it with a grain of salt. Of course we know certain things to be true, so it is what it is.
@@smilezuplame. Yeah cuz that’s what Drake did on heart part6 .. yall fanned it out … made it into some crazy allegation shit n how was Drake supposed to respond?.. shoot a video n have all the accusers who’ve already cleared up how Drake was nothing but polite them n yall running things way too overboard… bro I yawned at that concert n yawned at this regular ass video. Kendrick doesn’t look natural gloating… he just doesn’t look like he’s pulling the strings but Compton out the battery in his back
@@TheDifferenceCHIWhy aren’t you streaming Camila or Heart Part 6? You don’t find Kendrick entertaining. That’s cool. Until now, I never found male rap entertaining. It became too much of them calling women out of their names and show casing video Hoes (not vixens). I haven’t checked out Drake, because I know I wouldn’t like his constant disrespect of women and female teens. So I don’t go on videos about him to tell his fans that they have no taste, morals, or respect for themselves or others. Why do you discount ppl who feel differently than you. You RedPill ppl are ass.
But drake shooting a video first with 3 separate tracks getting at 100 ppl … n symbolically crush GKMC Van means nothing huh?.. yall so quick to prop up someone else n discredit another persons run… bro this dude drake was going nuts … yall just certified haters waiting to see bro go down but been up 15years legacy cemented lol
@@TheDifferenceCHI My guy... Is it possible that people who are commenting on this video about Kendrick's video just enjoyed the video and commentary. Does it have to be assumed that we all hate Drake or didn't like his video, because we liked the Not Like Us video? The Family Matters video was dope. I also said that when it dropped. I'm sure other people did as well. But it makes no sense to come on a totally different video a month later talking about how dope the Family Matters video was bro. It's ok man. You're a Drake fan. We get it. Family Matters was a good song and had a good video bro.
Bro in the "certified boogieman" scene looks like he's wearing the Toosie Slide fit. He has the ski mask on and the dark tapes vibe fit. Feels like a direct reference to not being able to "toosie slide your way out of this one."
Yall running wild with the speculations lol aye must be nicer when the fans get to play Batman n make up the story for u. I guess how legends are talked about. But yall just believe anything n got the confidence to regurgitate it back into the universe is wild 😂
@@TheDifferenceCHI Bro what? This is a diss song about Drake right? Wouldn't it make sense to have a character that looks like Drake getting snatched up? We saw the Drake video right? The guy in the video who gets snatched up looks like Drake did in the Toosie Slide video. I mean, I didn't know this was some conspiracy level stuff to put someone who looks like the person you're dissing in the video for your diss song. Lol I don't know if that was his intention, but I don't actually have another explanation for some random guy being snatched into thin air in the middle of the music video lol 😂
Crazy how one video dismantled all of Drake's biggest angles. Its like Dot said on Euphoria: "Fabricating stories on the family front cuz you heard Mr. Morale"
Bro the song is about a bunch of allegations as well but yall pick n choosing what u wanna believe. U kno how embarrassing it would be for Kendrick his fiancee n Dave free n top nem to not look linked in. But in a world where an enemy of my enemy is my friend … they were never gonna not publicly stand next to Kendrick whether it was true or not.
@@TheDifferenceCHI Crazy we're still debating this under a Rob Markman video when my nigga doesn't partake in the gossip aspects of this beef but I'm gonna outline the difference for you: allegations from one party has a lot of circumstantial evidence at varying points in their career that lend credence to the angles, while the other party's does not. I fw both heavy and have listened to Drake more than I have Dot in my life, but he was grasping at straws. He should've stayed on his bully angle where he could've stated aside from numbers, the actual SOUND of hip-hop has been shaped by him and he's not only the more influential artist, but he put on artists who otherwise wouldn't have been successful without him. Instead, he decided to attack the man's wife and take talking points from Twitter being the chronically online person that he is. I still don't understand how someone as successful as him lost confidence in the initial stance he had taken at the start of the beef. In his own words, "A wise man once said nothing at all", yet he went on to defend such accusations. The Pusha beef really made him think that we care about gossip when in actuality, it was the start of a deconstruction of Drake's character which Dot ended up concluding. Drake gon' be alright in the end though, (assuming there's no truth to Dot's allegations).
@@TheDifferenceCHI homie the words of these men don't carry equal weight. One man is rooted in himself, his community, his art, and his healing while the other is a colonizer who uses Black culture for his own benefit and has a concerning, and lengthy history of grooming underaged girls. So whose words should I take at face value? The words of a predator, or the words of a man who's done the work to heal his inner demons?
I hope he drops “US.” as an EP, with hella LA artists.. then drops a full length concept album, like he normally do.. basically like how Drake did FATD then Scary Hours 3… album + EP combo would go craaaaazy 🔥🔥🔥 headshots for the year!
Most importantly, Rob, we are all proud of you. Not only because of the mature smart fair and real hip hop criticisms. This is what we supposed to do. Discuss debate respectfully. I've been following you for years, and this may be the perfect platform for you to connect with your audience. Today's hip hop journalism needed this cause it's been disheartening. Congrats, bro. They not like YOU.
Your not reaching with the “are you my friend..are we locked in?” Kendrick did say in euphoria “I hate the way you sneak diss” Drake has been dissing Kendrick for years but in a way that only Kendrick will know.
I agree that having Whitney and the kids wasn’t necessarily NEEDED, but they’ve been included when it matters and makes sense (Whitney narrating on Mr Morale, the family on the cover of Mr Morale, Whitney cameo-ing in the Count Me Out video). It wasn’t needed, but it fits the purpose of the video and honestly, it was one of my favorite parts, along with seeing Dave Free pop out haha
@KidTeddi, me too! Absolutely one of my favorite parts. For me, one of the most important things about Whitney being there walking on Drake is that it’s HER chance to respond to him. Not only did he accuse her of having a child with her man’s best friend but she also may have been disgusted by Drake telling the world she’s being abused and then making fun of the abuse. He said her name in THREE of his songs. Because he treated “her abuse” like it was a joke, so did all of his obsessed fans. Drake made her public in a way she’s never been before. I would’ve wanted to walk him down too!!! That’s why I loved that even though the whole family danced, Kendrick also sat on the couch for Whitney to have her own moment of retribution. Her own “keep MY name out your mouth” 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
He never shot a video for back to back n he doesn’t even perform the song after the beef settled n I never listen to back to back … never saved it on a playlist on dsps.. it was a moment n he went on a run after his victory that cemented him at the top.
Drake never milked a diss song. He dropped it and kept it moving. He didnt even perfom back 2 back or any other record on stage nor made a video. He handed kendrick biggest moment after 15 years
Maybe I’ve watched too much of the show The Wire… but if Kendrick is the diabolical genius that I think he is, then those scenes with the shipping containers sent a HUGE message!! 👀👀 A hidden but not so hidden message… Shoutout to season 2 of The Wire 😐
Shoutout for the continued analysis!! One thing I haven’t seen people talk about, in the scene where Kendrick is doing push-ups in the jail cell, there’s a portrait that is turned towards the wall that we can only see the back of. I wonder what people think could be on the other side of that canvas or what that represents? Thanks again for your content Mark!
The fact that he dropped it on this day! 🤯 this guy puts so much thought into everything he does! Great job with getting the video up so quickly! You didn’t have to but definitely appreciate the hard work!
I think it was a great video and glad to see his family. KDot really put thought into this video. My personal opinion is this beef is no where near the end between the two artists. My wish is it continues to stay on wax and does not spill into the streets.
When Ken said that he learned that people don’t like the West Coast and when you hear West Coast people coming and saying certain things. It definitely has validity, especially when it’s coming from someone from California( WE KNOW). Our music does not get the same love that southern New York gets that’s a fact. Producers say the beats they sell the least are the West Coast ones. Our music is not highlighted in the same fashion. I travel all around the world I have to go and ask the DJ to play certain Cali songs. I always get the stink face. So we don’t literally mean people do not like us, but our sound is not received the way other sounds are received and that’s not a lie. That’s what they mean by that
Well certainly, Kendrick, Roddy, YG… damn near anything Mustard produces gets play in NY. It’s true more of the upcoming, or more local artists don’t, like Blue Bucks, Greedo- that hasn’t reached here yet. But it’s the same way; a lot of the local NY artists don’t get played in Cali or ATL (think groups like 41) … but that’s just my perspective
I think "Are you my friend, are we locked in. Then step this way" I feel that's a subtle nod to J. Cole. I always love hearing your perspectives! Keep them coming! ❤
K Dot just serving five star pettiness. Flipped the whole family matters videos and then elevated all the rebuttals. If this doesn’t cement his crown for this era alone…
If that snippet is what the album will be like 💨💨💨 it’ll be something special. Him leaning into the west coast sound would shoot it into the national spotlight
Rob had me blinking and rubbing my eyes for two minutes, damn near calling my ophthalmologist before Is saw the comments about the watermark. I thought I was seeing a big ass eye floater. 😄Another awesome video.
Kendrick hasn't done a teaser like that before. It's a song previewing the reincarnated version of Kendrick. It's going to be exciting to see how he grows after going through therapy.
That Black & white scene with Kendrick standing there was a reference to the scene from matters when Drake started rapping on the Drill beat. And the guy that ran up behind Kendrick was dressed exactly how Drake was dressed on the cover of Dark Lane Demo Tapes
I’m not sure how people were getting tired of not like us. We move on too fast and never really digest the bodies of art anymore. We used to have video premiers months after the singles have come out. I’m really still on euphoria. Watching tons of reactions to it. I loved when vh1 had a show giving facts and Easter eggs to videos this beef has excited me back to RU-vid and long form content with watching breakdowns etc.
Bro.. that scene with him and Whitney C Walking with the fam is haaaaaaaaard! I just know that scene made Drake throw a glass at the wall lol just makes that line about "we hate the b*these you f*ck" go even harder. And that's what makes Dot great. The lyrics age like a fine wine.
Good content all around. Would be cool if you touched on that region topic and the history of it in a video from your perspective of where we are now and how regionalism is important
I’m glad Kendrick dropped a calculated artistic gem because even I was getting a little tired of the song (which I’m a huge fan of) and the pop out show was more than enough. But the video takes it over the edge
The more I think about it, the more it looks like Dot was trolling Drake knowing he would be at the Mike Rubin White party. He says "The industry can hate me, f----em all and they mama" Its a double entendre looking like a straight jacket, but also having a password to get in and Tommy the clown at the dj booth like its a party full of clowns. Saying Drake rather be famous than being of the culture. Dot and Dave Free are Diabolical together.
I don’t know if Dot was specifically thinking about the white party, but overall that’s just who Drake is. Hes the guy that’s outside at all the parties. Around mad celebrities. Dot isn’t like that. Doesn’t seem to value that. So it’s more of a character call than specifically talking about a specific party
The boogeyman line scene reminded me of the bet cypher with tde when he said “tuck the sensitive rapper in with pajamas clothes” background like they did that on purpose
People don’t realize that drakes label probably came to him and told him not to push it any further. They own his music and just invested 400m into him and he has huge Nike deals and stuff, I genuinely don’t think Drake is allowed to respond in this beef anymore😂
That font looked like a play on the don't Drake used for honestly nevermind. Dave free did send that tweet about Drake dropping that album on Kendrick's birthday.
I feel like you might be onto something with the "friend" lyric. When I first heard it on Not Like Us, it stood out as weird for sure. I would've expected him to do more bars of OV HOE chant there. The friend lyric feels significant
The 4th only made sense, I knew it had to be today, I was getting a little nervous though I stayed up till 12 tryna see😭 I should have known he would have waited till the middle of the day
"kendrick just opened his mouth..." legitimate grammy contention was wild to hear lol but after some googling, only LL and drizzy had diss songs nominated. also, what's your thoughts on that opening snipper? is it just a single, or is it an album preview? mustard got an album otw, is it for that? selfishly, i hope dot is rolling out an album.
Deep cut reference, notice how in the cell where Kendrick is doing push ups he has a picture off the wall on the floor, in Push Ups Drake claims they have his picture on the wall while they cook up music, Kendrick dismisses this with an unseen canvas on turned around, ignored lol
I hope this isnt a rerun of the Alright video and that we actually get to hear the entire song that was previewed 😂 I also read (on Genius annotation) that his upcoming album will be called Mr. Get Off, but I’m not sure if there’s any confirmation to that alleged title
Kendrick has never done a basic “we outside with the homies hanging out” type of video. Even back when he was coming up and didn’t have the big budgets there was always some thought behind everything he did. That being said, this might be the most “fun” video he’s done (dancing being the biggest part of it). Too bad it’s associated with the heinous allegations. Hopefully there’s some similar type of songs on the album that we can vibe to without having to think about Drake.
