sorry man but j.cole releases the same sounding album for the fifth time in a row, while kendrick dropped two of the most turned up songs of 2016 while being ironic so no place for argument. and the repeatedly stolen exchange beat is another problem. I respect cole tho for the record
SK MIHOV I believe Coles albums are all different from each other. Born Sinner was speaking thin a different tone with a more hard or dark beat. Sideline Story was all happy and fun going. 2014 Forest Hills Drive was somber and slow meant to tell a story of his past through a full album. 4 Your Eyez Only is speaking of somebody else's life and having Coles twist added in with it. The beats were similar but not the same to Forest Hills.
Gary Pickrell IV These leftovers taste more like dinner that's been sitting out for a while, and has gone all lukewarm and kinda stale Untitled 2 and 7 slap though
Gotta stay relevant boi. Can't be doin jazz in the hip hop genre and not expect to cop shit fr. Now if you'll excuse me, I'mma go listen to Drogas Light
Reptar 123 I'm not a fan of 08, thought it was way better live. 06 is my second fav. 02 is my third fav. 01 just has an insane verse which takes it for me. Vivid imagery.
DAMN. doesn’t deserve the hate, it’s Kendrick at his most commercial but still doesn’t sell out and contains the same pertinent conceptual and emotional content.
@@elijahgavin6706 ikr damn is overhated and I feel like it’s misunderstood yes I do think it’s Kendricks weakest project yet but you described it perfectly
Zadius895 I look like a fucking idiot in from of my friends when I try to explain Kendrick to them who have only heard Eminem and mainstream stuff like Migos and mask off.
ρυηρυη me pirsonaly i think that the mindset that Kendrick is this album is better than Damn, the instrumentation the lyrics, yes its messy but still it amazed me how a genius Kendrick really is
@@willg5890i think tpab wanted more of a uplifting and grandiose vibe and a lot of the songs on this project are more grimey and dark and take away from the message
untitled 5 was definitely my favorite track on the album, I love the chaotic bassline in the beginning and the jazz instrumentation, and the cymbal heavy drums, smooth horns and vocal hook really make it a really mesmerizing song
+Iam RiSkO hell yeah! for some reason I want to say the bassline reminds me of the great Bay temple theme from majora's mask... not sure if that's close in the slightest lol
I just realized the album art is superimposed messily onto the green screen as opposed to fitting within its borders. It’s unmastered. That’s kind of a dope detail
Honestly, Kendrick's level of artistry is soooo high above his contemporaries, anybody else can only DREAM of reaching his level. I love how honest and raw this thing feels... It almost feels like a BTS for TPAB to me or some afterthoughts. It's not so glitzy and glammed up like TPAB but I'm okay with that because of tracks like the 7th one where at the end he's building up this vision of a stage performance. It's really intimate. Reminds me of times with my band and I love it.
Do not ever. Fucking put the words Kendrick, and trash together. This is simply the feeling of when you smoke all your weed, and then you find more of that sativa that somehow fell stuffed between your couch. For his outtakes this is exceptional.
all y’all saying “oh untitled 02, oh my god *i* love untitled 07” but all y’all sleeping on untitled 03 that is a godly track btw untitled 08 is also a godly track don’t worry
if you notice the editing of the video IT IS UNMASTERED TOO the album cover isnt on the green screen the whole thing talking in the small screen mid video omg
Abhyuday Gaur sadly that has changed, quite a lot. I come from a future where every comment is “this was a great video but there part where you got your... or I really agreed with every point in your review except when you started calling them - for 20 minutes....” I warn you stay away from this channel it will destroy your brain 🧠
untitled no 2 is off the charts. couldnt stop lostening to it. the schipher which ups,the tempo and tone changes in his rap.BARS. THE BEAT--everything aboit it is fuckingg stellar. This track, the 3rd,4th and 5th could have been realeased as one feature and been cohesive. amazing. i knew yous love that one before you started talking
When Kendrick is like 80 and has a 20 song discography, I feel like UU is gonna be the hidden gem people go back to. Sure, these are "leftovers" but I feel its only because they didn't fit TPAB, not because they weren't good enough. Untitled 1 just perfectly captures the mania that I feel in the world in this day and age. We really gotta get God on the phone
Kendrick: "The head still good though" Kendrick stans: OMG its a play on words, he's trying to say that despite the fellatio being very pleasurable his "head" (as in thought process) is still very much in tact and he hasn't allowed it to be influenced by sexual favours.
WockAdimi Damn Ur avi reminded me, hopefully the new Flatbush project will be better than this bad Andre 3000 impression over mediocre standard jazz percussion that sounds like a boring less engaging less memorable version of something The Roots would make.
JayLegacy100 LMAO don't get me wrong Kendrick is definitely a nuanced writer and has some complex metaphor's and challenging concepts but his stans take that shit too far and analyse the fuck out of him to the point where even his Fucking ad-libs are a part of of some esoteric concept.
I think I legit listened to Untitled 08, which I'm dubbing "Blue Faces", 8 times in a row Monday morning. That, 04, and 05 are my favorites. Kendrick just continues to solidify himself as my favorite rapper going today. Even his unpolished work is quality. And that means the world to meee.
As a Kendrick fan, I really enjoyed this project for its musicality, concepts and role as a snapshot of the building phases of the TPAB sound. As a Thundercat fan, I enjoyed the sexy bass and the fact that the last track rolls seamlessly into Apocalypse in my playlist. For what is essentially a throwaway EP, this project is surprisingly very pleasing to the ear and stimulating to the mind.
Omg please shut the fuck up, you and about 10 other people have said this and it just isn't true. Kendrick is in top of the rap game, we get it, but he isn't the best doing it bro, stop being a dickeater. Have you heard every rap album from every artist? If not, then how do you know Kendrick is better than everyone else? You just come across as a fanboy, let that man breath
+OrangeLightDistrictGaming What did I hurt your feelings? No need to get so hostile over a youtube video cuz I already know your bitch ass aint saying nothing when I really pull up outside your house. Im not about to argue with you over the internet so give me an address or SHUT THE FUCK UP
Another great record by Kendrick Lamar. Untitled 06 is such an amazing song. The music definitely sticks out on this record (in a good way) but the lyrics are amazing as always. I would love to see Kendrick Lamar do a track with Hieroglyphics
Kendrick haters consist of 1. People who like trap or drill music 2. Drake or Future fans 3. People who feel cool calling him overrated 4. Old school hip hop fans 5. Niggas who feel tough
It's kinda sad that this album is getting more and more forgotten with each passing year because of it's obscure compilation status and it not being a studio album. I feel like the most discussion this project has got in recent years was when Childish Gambino dropped 3.15.20, and people were talking about the similarities of the two.
Yeah except this is almost my favorite release by Kendrick, it's probably his most solid rendition to date, because although they are afterthoughts, comparatively to his larger and much longer albums, there are sometimes bigger gaps to fit looser instrumentations and atmosopheres rather than faster and more tempo-sensitive cyphers. He has tons of great moments on this album, and I think it bears remembering. I think you're taking it too seriously. That's the point of this record, dude. It's meant to be just sorta blaze in parts, on purpose, to see how raw the album really is.
I mean I know for sure I love it because of the undeniable credibility he gives to even his less-worked on material and that's why I like him. But my favorite part is that he appreciates music. Good soul, good funk, and great vibes come from his music. It's not overproduced shit like Travis $cott or Future or even Lil Yachty.
Overproduced in terms of vocal effects? Or in terms of beats? In terms of stuff like autotune, yeah there's a fair amount of that. But I wouldn't say that it's by any means "overproduced". Also, it takes like little to no effort to make a typical trap beat haha
Untitled Unmastered is super under appreciated in my opinion. This is kendrick experimenting the most with his sound, even if it’s just left overs. I genuinely love this project and it’s astonishing how talented Kendrick is. | 06.12.23
As much as I enjoy Theneedledrop he's really developing a fanbase of drones who wait for him to give them the OK on whether they should or are allowed like something or not. I've literally seen people go from LOVING a project to second guessing themselves after his negative opinion or hating a project to praising I after it received a high rating.
I agree and disagree at the same time. Yes there's times where Anthony makes me see something from another perspective and past the hype it's not as good as I thought or more flaws than I thought. doesn't mean I dislike it. Other times I completely disagree - his review of EGO death was BS for me. His review of a new place 2 drown was also off the mark for me.
You know how after a fun night where you had great pizza and a good time you wake up and eat the cold morning after pizza and it still kinda slaps…this is the morning after to TPAB
My favorite channel by far, you've kinda brought me into a perspective of music that I haven't really looked into before. Thanks for that man. Keep at it for real!
That transition on Untitled 07 (Levitate) is incredibly chilling. It just starts with this feeling of love towards where you come from and ends with an extremely dark turn.
Just a thought on the title, but could untitled unmasker apply to kendrick himself? I mean we all assume its because the tracks are "unmastered", but could it not really be another way of expressing himself? I mean his whole theme throughout is his conflicts within himself. Is he mortal man or make believe. He was born odd, he once was a church going ma, but now thinks of committing suicide. Its almost like this is his way of saying I am untitled, I am unmastered. He knows the expectations we've set for him because of his greatness and shows us his flaws, his imperfections. Or, on another level, he's talking about the sloppiness, the imperfections of everything in the world, such as in untitled 3. You can examine it from so many angles, but it his way of deflating any blown up expectations of him by us, and telling us in the title of the album what he is. idk, just a thought.
i wasn't too down for much of the tape but i agree untitled 2 is amazing. honestly one of the best songs i've ever heard from kendrick it's a new favorite for sure.
