That first half really does bring you deep into Kendrick's world and perspective and if it wasn't for that I don't think I would have felt as complete as I did after "fuck a rap battle, this a long life battle with yourself".
To me it is. Honestly its the best song to me out of everything else and ive replayed it the most out of all the disses. My jaw dropped when i first heard that beat switch and all of his crazy flows. Still i understand why most people pick "not like us", its certainly the most infectious of them all and just contains a happy vibe (even though the insinuations are anything but) that makes you want to hit the club asap. Its a victorious song.
Euphoria is the best as a traditional diss with high level punchlines/wordplay/entendres. Meet the grahams was a spooky masterclass in storytelling & psychological deconstruction Not like us was just the funny lighthearted club banger victory lap track. All served different purposes and accomplished their goal
Euphoria is still the best to me, i was hype af to finally hear a full Kendrick diss and it was dense and multilayered asf with so many quotables and its only aging better
@@DurealzForRealI think it was a smart move on his part. He doubled down on the knockout that was meet the grahams but made it more light and digestible. Also him making a hit out of it is a diss in of itself considering he going against Drake.
Heart part 6 by far the worst song. That shit was filled with cap, twitter narratives, bullshit responses to heinous allegations, and just complete missteps. Literally just a pr statement to keep the stans reeled in
It ties everything together really, both the diss records to each other and the diss records to Kendrick's journey on Mr. Morale. He found peace but he has to rediscover his anger to bring it to another man and those he's harmed. That is a facking PLOOT and is what "won the beef" handily for me after listening to 6:16 (before even hearing Family Matters or MTG or NLU or HP6).
Drake could have won if he did not decide to make the beef about tea. But we'll never know cause the dumbass decided to start getting personal and introducing tea
Kendrick getting baited into making a verse about a fake daughter proves how desperate he was to hate on drake to the point he’d make up lies without facts. Y’all will see he’s really the manipulator soon
@@leultrainstinct406 I dont understand this sentiment. Drake was the guy that started false allegations saying Kendirck beat his wife without any evdence and youre mad at Kendrick for matching his energy?
an update on the info drake “fed” kendrick is that someone released a video of the full contents of the image from meet the grahams and showed that the items were discarded by drake over a year ago, proving that drake lied about feeding kendrick the info
I was listening to an interview that had Dot's supposed body gaurd. He stated that Drake sent dudes to LA to get dirt on Dot. But he remain loyal and gave them misinformation instead; stating that Kendrick is in NY and not with his family. And some other things pertaining to the beef....allegedly lol
Taylor made was pretty good strategy by Drake at first but looking back at it now, it aged like milk, Kdot had that man crying cause he was dropping too much heat in the heart pt6. The pressure Drake put on Kdot in Taylor Made seemed like it ain’t affect kdot at all.
The crazy thing is as someone who was rooting for Kendrick I lowkey really liked Taylor Made. I hate the AI shit usually but the way Drake applied it was a funny troll I cant deny. The offbrand Dre beat is really nice and builds the tension. And Drake’s verse was tuff (at the time at least). It was the one time i was actually on Drake’s side and felt like he was in control.
The last time I felt the way Meet The Grahams made me feel was when I was a kid and listen to Immortal Technique's "Dance with The Devil"... That shit is haunting
For me, it was like listening to Golden by Tyler, The Creator. Shit hit different when you realize all the stuff that happened was in his head. Especially with that spoken outro at the end
6:16 is a top tear song, regardless of the diss, that first half is the main thing from this beef that made me go back and listen to his old music, it just reminded me why I think he's the GOAT if that makes sense
The first part is what won him the beef for me, too. Dot's narrative -"Kendrick's found peace but he has to rediscover his anger to bring it to Aubrey and those he's harmed."- personally is a killshot on its own for me and he probably couldn't have established that, really, without those lyrics.
6:16 is underrated, its a pivotal point in the beef "Who am i if i dont go to war", right between all the warnings in euphoria, telling drake to stop it before it goes to far. and meet the grahams. Sounwaves production is stellar and the melodic elements of his performance are very progressive
6:16 is my favourite honestly but i just like it as a song more than anything. Ngl this whole thing has just made me want real kendrick music lol. He really won on every level
Even then still a lot of allegations with no proof but I think there IS no proof. Not saying everything is a lie or is not true, but when you think about it if what Kendrick is saying about Drake is all true and he has proof, he wouldn't battle rap him, I feel like he would've just straight up reported it to the authorities. So him going the battle rap route tells me he doesn't have concrete proof, but him still exposing all of this out in a rap battle also tells me that these allegations are probably true to some degree, he just doesn't have any incriminating proof. Because I doubt KDot will lean on this narrative so heavily if he's pulling all of this straight out of his ass.
@@makoto3212 Bro these allegations are Diddy level accusations, if I have incriminating proof idc if people look at me as a snitch or not this is evil mastermind type of shit we're talking about. If snitching on a trafficking circle makes me the bad guy then fuck it let me be the bad guy. I feel like Kendrick is that type of guy as well
I’m glad so many are on the same pg as me about 6:16 in LA…that one was so beautiful, nostalgic, & important to the series of events that occurred after!
I’m thinking he hasn’t put it on streaming platforms bc it was meant to meet Drake where he was at. “i hate the way you sneak diss if I catch flight it’s gonna be direct” Drake kept posting on his stories during the beef 🤣 “Why you trolling like a bitch ain’t u tireddd?”
The thing that really stands out to me about this beef from a hip-hop standpoint is that Drake didn't even do badly. Family Matters and Push-Ups are both fire tracks. But, Kendrick really is that much better. It's one of those moments where you realize how big the gap between 1st place and 2nd place really is.
@@JayN.xtdoor I would say however that “Like That” is a lot catchier and has more memorable bars, atleast in my opinion. It’s also the track that set everything off.
@@adammadanat i still would disagree besides the fact that like that was the song that started everything🤷🏽♂️ both were catchy radio songs (obviously like that is more catchier cuz its a actual song) both had their verses that was memorable (for like that you have “whats a print to a king hoe a son nigga, and metro shut yo hoe ass up and make some drums nigga) and both wasnt near the quality of what their “red button” was especially for kdot as we saw
6:16 NEEDS MORE LOVE. Also you cant tell me KDot didn't own that beat. I haven't felt someone body a beat like that since When It Rains it Pours by 50 Cent.
After listening to euphoria with different instrumentals, man it’s just the best one for me bar for bar. 6:16 in LA is a beautiful song, meet the grahams the best diss hands down, not like us the catchiest by far, family matters the best flows.
My issue is I think not like us, does impact the culture. I’m hearing kids sing this song all over the place and I’m on the east coast. It’s very weird that it’s openly a song about these touchy subjects yet it’s been made catchy. I think we might need to stop beefs and have this be the last one.
It’s like Kdot had pray in the morning of Fri with 6:16, put his kids to bed at night and went out to go to war and face off Drake with Meet the Graham’s at Family Matter. Sat morning,,went back to the crime scene and dance on my dude grave with Not Like Us. Sheesh!! Within 7 days Drake had a tombstone. Euphoria predicted it all. OMGG the levels 🤯🔥🔥
meet the grahams is scathing and, sinister is such a good description of it. But i think for that reason, its not s-tier, It's too sinister. The most hard hitting diss track of them all, and just as a diss track, it would be s-tier, but if we're looking at it as a song as a whole, I think A-tier is where it would belong.
6:16 in LA? I hate that it’s not on DSP, it’s my fav track of them all. Soulful beat, he warms the car up w a good verse and you get the first real “oh shit” moment. The cryptic title, the what we now know as the breathing machine sound at the beginning. He simultaneously jacks Drakes “time stamp” title and “back to back” drops.
Nah, Champagne Moments definitely isn't "weaker" against Drake than Seven Minute Drill was against Kendrick. Seven Minute drill is barely a diss other than a couple of disingenuous bars about the Simpsons and a regurgitation of what Jay Z' said on Takeover about Nas' productivity. Champagne Moments clowns on Drake start to front and is pretty funny.
6:16 isn’t a pressure track for Drake imo, it’s a pressure track for Kendrick by Kendrick. What he says comes off as him convincing/preparing himself to drop MtG. “Who’s gonna stop me, I come from love” and “I know this type of power is gonna cost but I live in circadian rhythms of a shooting star” come to mind.
S: Like That, Meet The Grahams, Not Like Us, Euphoria A: Family Matters, Push Ups B: 6: 16 in LA C: Heart Part 6, 7 minute drill, Champagne Moments, Taylor Made D: Like That (remix)
@@madfutter4424 i knew that comment is coming 😂. I can't do anything about it, i relistened to Euphoria and it's too good to be in A, everything else is explainable
@@EntrEspritfamily matters S for sure. That’s a masterpiece diss. Push ups S too since it’s a banger and for the timing it came out during 2 albums dissing him and Cole quitting. Heart pt 6 S. Strictly off lyrics it’s the best diss and exposed Kendrick for a lot of things y’all wont realize until later Meet the grahams A. Kendrick lied about drakes daughter. Not like us B solid hit but generic. 6:16 D. Good song but terrible diss since he got baited the whole time
Meet the grahams is so good because of the strategy of it. Kendrick destroyed any momentum Drake might have had and gave us a huge moment. I’ve gone back to watch so many reaction videos to that song the play was just insane
Apparently ScHoolboy Q told Cole to back down from the beef because it was gonna escalate to how it did instead of just being a rap battle. I feel like Cole can get some slack cut for that.
Not like Us is S teir and is the song that destroyed the whole beef with it in combination with meet the Graham's. Kedrick had every body dancing to a tune saying one of the most like rappers is a pdf file. Mad
The heart pt 6 is definitely the worst by far, it's just a combination of self incrimination and cringe. If you had a Z-tier that music would be below it
