Watch me drop the highest rated (it sucks the most) canister vacuum cleaner on Amazon in its price range. I demo it along with a whole bucketload of sharp little fossil knives in the form of diatomaceous earth that I swept into the rug. Fight insect infestation with less chemicals and more mechanical means. This white powder dust while deadly to bugs is harmless to mammals like the lovely little Eri cat you see at the beginning. Use less insecticide killers like Ortho and HotShots and more brains.

The manual says the Pet Powermate can only be used on the HOSE handle (where all the controls are)bNOT at the end of the long wand!!! This is definitely safer and more versatile on stairs. It's easy to vacuum the vertical stair rises as well.

The cannister should always be BELOW the stair you're vacuuming!!! Read the vacuum manual & look at the diagram explaining the bumps on the cannister underside that are designed to rest the cannister against stair lips. They work great if you keep the cannister BELOW your work!!

cimexa is also really good to use along with DE but I would only put it where my cats couldnt get into it like in dresser drawers and place some kind of paper over it before placing clothes in there. Nice vacuum btw, that exact model is on my list of upgrades. How is it holding up and do you still maintain some kind of preventative measures against critters?

I'll check our cimexa if there's a recurrence. I think I annihilated the critters. Prevention now is just more frequent vacuuming. So far so good. The colder weather might be helping too.

Your doing incorrect!.. you have to remove the long extension for use the power-mate and the canister had to be behind you every time, to you vacuum from the stairs up to down 😅 I’m owner of a cleaning company 👍🏼

OSHA survey says... Bzzzzz! You are incorrect, sir Diatomaceous earth has been tested as a whole and evaluated as a Group 3 carcinogen by IARC. A Group 3 listing indicates that diatomaceous earth is not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans, since definitive conclusions cannot be drawn from the research conducted to date. www.osha.gov/laws-regs/standardinterpretations/1999-04-05

Súper bad for you if you breathe in the dust. Keep pets away and you should wear a mask when apply and vacuuming.

DE is not good for pets and doesn't do nothing to bedbugs crossfire is best on market it's what exterminator use the spray you have is just running them deeper into your walls watch a video on crossfire and give it a try
