@@marionmarion6852 Fortier was nice but their arrangements was not up to par for St Aug or Kennedy. St. Aug & Kennedy's Band Teachers was known legends of NOLA school Marching Bands in the 70's, 80's & 90's... IJBH 🤷🏿♂️🤔💯
I can relate...I'm not from the boot but I'm from Worthing High School in Houston Texas...class of 1997...played btone, tuba , and trombone... maaan them days there were some of the best music being played ..we had people who played in the band and sang in the church choir...ears tuned ...so much to say but those were some good times for high school bands...
I cant lie Da K got us this year, but i still say we were too damn small to be that loud 88 people.....great battle. 93 & 95 were some classic years for Da K
God.. Kennedy Baritones.. There's NOTHING in the world like Loud and full Upright baritone Section, NOTHING. It gives your band a completely different sound. I believe Bands really shouldgo back to Uprights. or at the least do half and half, or 3 quarter upright and 1 quarter marching
Everyone there that day knows St. Aug didn’t repeat any song “in a battle”. We played the Rain at nobody when Kennedy was getting off of the buses. We played the Rain again just like everyone repeats songs in their parade lineup, Kennedy played Skin and Just got paid many times that day. Same with St. Aug’s lineup of songs, we played the Rain before our battle then again “at” Kennedy ONCE when we both were battling.
@@ngomanumu out of all the arguments available, no one dares act like *the AUG* didn’t have a book. Now, all of a sudden, St. Aug ain’t got no tunes now🙄
Dedric Sanders Bruh...I'll give JFK 92/93, 94/95 and 98/99 school years. That's 3 good years where no one could argue that JFK got AUG. I think you're being a bit bias as for as the rest of those years are concerned, and that's not even taking anything away from JFK, the band I had the most respect for outside of St. Aug.
@@mlmkwm I'mma say from 93'- 97'. St Aug was finally able to get back right at the Orpheus Parade in 97'. But for those 4 yrs straight Kennedy's size and book was impeccable. With 92'-93 being their best band to me. I saw them Murda Fortier in 93' at Pan Am. Kennedy sounding like a CD💽. IMHO😲🤫🤔💯
EarthAngel_A.i. Man that was the year after they kicked damn near half the school. New administration. The band went from 150+ in 91-92 to less than 100 in 92-93... no excuse tho they gave it to us tho. Da K was no punk hat year
dude, the camera in right in front of St Aug's band and particularly in front of their trumpet section, Kennedy band was further back, Behind the crowd and they were in parade formation with the trumpets in the back of the band and you can still hear the trumpets even though they were behind the trombones, baritones and mellos, even though they were like a half a block away from the camera.
