If you decide to visit again in the summertime come visit us at the Belle of Louisville! We are the oldest operating Mississippi style steamboat and 107 this year.
I found you on your Lisbon video and decided to check out your older videos. I love Louisville! I live in southern Indiana so I am one hour from Louisville, one hour from Indianapolis, and one and a half hours from Cincinnati. I’m never bored because I can always head to a decent sized city to hang out. I’m sorry you had such a bad time at Newfields in Indianapolis. It’s one of my favorite spots and it’s too bad you missed the Lume because it is amazing. I’m enjoying exploring your videos ❤
Awwww yay!!! So happy you are here on this adventure with us!! Thanks so much for watching! That makes our day!! 🥰🎉💗 awww that’s seriously so sweet of you to say... 😭💗🥰 you legit just made my day!!! 💗💗💗💗
Louisville is awesome I joined the army in 2009 I was stationed at fort knox I miss Kentucky lol I live in arizona now its so hot and dry I'll deal with heat if the land is pretty lol
Great video and very informative. We have two days to explore Louisville coming up and looking forward to trying a Hot Brown and the Brown Hotel based on watching your video. Bravo! HAPPINESS IS A LIFESTYLE.
Hahaha 😂 that’s funny.... that’s just how we travel. Lol we love doing & seeing (& eating) as much as possible. Haha our families think it’s exhausting! Haha 😂 🙈 but we love it! Haha yea you wouldn’t think but there is so much in KY!
Really enjoyed watching your trip to my BIG little city. You should do a return trip without Covid. All the restaurants are back open again! You must try the Mayan Cafe. Come a day in the spring when Churchill Downs is open and horses racing. Kentucky Derby museum is fun also! Thanks for visiting. I love to travel also so look forward to the rest of your videos.
Carmichaels is one of my favorite places on earth! So glad you found it on your short trip. I spent so much of my teenage years curled up on the floor there. Amazing place!
Ahhh thank you soooo much!!!! We would LOVE that! Haha 🎉👌🏻 You seriously have made our day! 🥰💗 ahhh we would love to explore Lexington! We heard it’s beautiful! Thanks so much for watching!!!
Aww… That absolutely makes our day too hear! Thanks so much for watching! The Frazier Museum was awesome! And Stephen (our tour guide) made it that much more awesome! Safe travels!🥰
I live in Louisville. I am assuming you came here the winter of 2021 by looks if your video. Most of the businesses downtown that were closed due to the riots and covid have reopened. Feel free to hit me up on your next visit. I would be glad to show you some other great places here.
Hello @lifeonabuget, I would like to ask you about the city, in this case I am interested in going to see it for Halloween, but I would like you to tell me about your experience, what the city is like for those dates, if there are any events for that date is worth it like the Jack O lantern, if the weather is good, in addition to how many days you consider are necessary to tour the city and its most notable places to visit. I would really appreciate your advice.
@@JDLZ95Halloween there is always things going on here. There's a Jack o lantern festival at Iroquois Park. There's a haunted hotel on 4th Street near Churchill Downs. I know some of the actors who work there during Halloween. Louisville is not really that bad, but there are some areas of town I recommend you do not go to. Especially the west end of town. There are shootings in that area almost every day.If you have kids take to Kentucky kingdom. It's a six flags park here, not far from the airport. Weather is usually starting to cool off here by than. So you may want to bring a jacket with you. Churchill Downs museum is great place to visit. There are a lot of museums in the downtown area. The Highlands in bardstown Rd area is great area to visit There's a lot of local parks that are beautiful to visit and have trails that you can walk. Downtown offers a lot restaurants to choose from, and you have whiskey row that can you can visit. We also have a minor league baseball team. If playing while you are here they play at slugger field which is downtown. If you are into football U of L plays at Yum Brand Stadium which is downtown also. There is a haunted hospital called Windsor Hills you may want to go there for Halloween. I've never been there, but mom and aunt went there. My mom said the place was creepy. It just depends what kind of stuff you are into. I'm local guide for Google maps. Use it to find places you may be interested in visiting and read the reviews on them to.
Those Museums looked like absolute MUST dos if we get to visit Louisville in the near future. And The Brown Hotel 💕 We used to live in Clarksville TN, right on the border of Oak Grove KY. We mostly stayed on the TN side, but one trip to Mammoth Caves National Park, "Mammoth Cave is the world's longest known cave system with more than 420 miles" Was a very beautiful trip. Definitely recommend!
Aww thank you so much for your kind comment! Made our day! We appreciate you & Thanks so much for watching! 🥰 Hope you have a great time in Louisville! 🎉
Check out the Big Four Bridge next time. It's a walking and biking bridge that crosses over the Ohio River between Louisville and Indiana. It's part of our River Park, which is a cool area of the city.
I am from letcher ky I practice not having accent but when I do have it I just use it in scenarios but I'm native american half german norwegian witch is norway an my german family lives hemburg germany my other family from America speaks navajo cherokee chickasaw
HEY NEIGHBOR!!!! 🎉🎉 Oh girl, absolutely!!!! It was so much fun! Louisville is a great city, totally recommend! It would be awesome for a weekend getaway!! Thanks for watching girl! We appreciated it more than you know! 💗 - Nat
Another Matt and Nat video??? Yes, please! Oh and Matt and his burgers .. wonder if he'll have one next episode too 😂 Jk. But keep up the great videos - I am still travelling through y'all vicariously. Safe travels on your drives to other states.
You are the best!!!! Thanks for your comment! It has made my day! 🎉 hahaha right?! He’s loves his burgers! 🤣 thank you tons! We appreciate you more than you know! 💗
Continuing to enjoy your travels. I visited Louisville about 12 years ago. Louisville Slugger is amazing! Enjoyed the Muhammad Ali museum as well (even though I'm not a boxing fan). Sorry to hear that 4th Street isn't doing well, as I enjoyed that area. Hope it can bounce back after Covid.
Thanks so much for watching! Nice! Louisville really is a cool city. We definitely enjoyed our time in there! We're hoping that 4th Street can bounce back too! It would be such a shame if it didn't.
My husband and I temporarily lived in a higher rise building right next to 4th street live and it’s such a shame how virtually nothing is open now. Right outside of it is a wonderful little Mexican restaurant, the Brazilian steakhouse was way too pricey for what it was and then just like everything else is closed. Sad. Lou is great but drugs and gangs are really harming parts of it
I’m sure whomever was the recipient of getting both their headlights smashed by Carrie Underwood isn’t too big of a fan of those Louisville slugger bats.. this video is going to bring back bad memories for them 😂
So enjoyed this vlog!! Y’all are just the best!! Loved the whiskey private tour and Babe Ruth bat.. Matt was holding it!!! Derby Pie !!!!! What more can you ask for!! Ohhhh ya Louisville is pronounced with MARBLES in your mouth NOT ROCKS 😂😂😂😂😂 Loved this video!!!!!
@@AdventuresofMattandNat The Frazier Museum in downtown Louisville is super interesting. or if you come in the summer we have an amusement park. Kentucky Kingdom
Yea, we loved our time at the Frazier History Museum! And we’ve heard great things about Kentucky Kingdom! Definitely gonna have to make a visit sometime!
Hi Matt and Nat. We love your channel and can't wait each week for the next vlog. We were in Louisville last week and took your advise and visited the Frasier museum with Steven as our guide. His knowledge of whiskey and the tour were great. Only museum where you get a tasting at the end of your tour in a re created speak easy. Thanks for the info and safe travels!
Hey Kirk! This just made our day!! Isn't Stephen just great?! And the Frazier Museum is just fantastic! We are SO happy to hear that you enjoyed it like we did.😊 Thanks so much for watching and letting us know about your time in Louisville!
Dont come not a nice place to go right now lit of crime alot every day and night it just don't stop anymore take it from somebody been there for decades
If you like steak, I highly recommend Repeal. The food there is amazing. You won't regret it! I also enjoyed Señora Arepas, that's located just east of downtown. Again the food there was incredible...you can't go wrong with their empanadas! If you're looking for a drink, hit up the Old Seelbach bar. Fun times!
Ohhh thank you so much for your recommendations! Writing them down now!! It's makig me hungry now! haha Thanks again for watching & for the recs! We appreciate them more than you know! 🥰
Dear Matt and Nat, Thank you very much for showing so many beautiful places and restaurants. Keep it up. God bless you divine couple. With lots of love and regards, Jayantàda, 31/07/2021
You must attend the Kentucky Derby. 170,000 people gathered for a 2 minute horse race. Btw… it is Lou E Ville. Just depends on which side of town you are on. Nice vlog!
I was checking RU-vid ALL DAY yesterday waiting for your video. It was worth the wait. Loved the clue, but I had to google. Damn, I was wrong. Never been there but would like to someday. Keep’em coming.
Awwwww I’m so sorry... 😭 I was so disappointed but it is what it is.... you are the best!! Thank you so much for being so amazing! We appreciate you more than you know! Hahaha that’s ok! (we had to Google it too 😜) lol Thanks for making our day btw! 💗
Y'all! I thought something was wrong with my notifications!!! Then I thought, oh great RU-vid must have banned them for hate speech...hatin' on some Kentucky Bluegrass or something. 🤷🏻♂️ That pie looked so yummy! Love y'all and so enjoy your escapades. Stay safe and happy traveling!
Hahahaha nope... just running later than planned! 😭🙈 lol hahah thanks for the laugh tho! It was sooo good! Y’all have to try it! Love y’all too!!! Thanks for everything! We appreciate y’all more than you know! 💗🎉
I've lived in Eastern ky for 20 years and you have seen more of it than me.. distillery tours in Lexington are the best and the bourbon ice cream at Buffalo Trace is worth fighting over
Hahaha… It’s funny how that happens isn’t it?! We feel the same when people tell us about all the new things to do in Nashville! Lol… Ooo! We REALLY want to do some of the distillery tours! And Bourbon Ice Cream?!? Mmmmm!!!🤤 We’re gonna have to try that! Thanks so much for watching!😊
You all should've skipped out on 4th Street Live and walked the "Big Four bridge".... it's an experience especially after dark and it's free! Lovely couple btw! ❤️💙
We totally agree! If things had been more open on 4th Street Live it might have been different, but the Big Four Bridge definitely would’ve been a better experience! Aww… Thanks so much! And thanks for watching!😊
Haha... Sorry to disappoint! We live in the south though... there's great chicken on every corner! We tried to find food more interesting/unique to the city.🤷🏻♂️
Loved watching your adventures in Louisville. I live in Louisville. If you haven't been to the Kentucky Derby yet, you have to make the trip some day! Good time
Love the video! I live in Louisville which is what brought me to this video. Weird question, but what type of jacket is Matt wearing? Obviously Oakley brand but do you know the specific type? Thanks and wishing you safe and fun travels!
Hey Brian!! Thanks so much for watching! Haha... Not weird at all... I got it a long time ago! I can't find a model name on it anywhere. But the closest thing I can find when I look it up online is the "Oakley Quilted Jacket". I hope that helps!
At one time Louisville had all the cigarette companies. Philip Morris was the last one to leave in 2000 and I had to transfer to NC to keep my job. They used to give tours daily of the factory at 18th & Broadway
@@WhittyPics I worked at the DuPont Refinery near Richmond, VA. about ten years ago. Philip Morris had a huge facility there, including a cigarette factory.
Roughly 2 correct ways to pronounce it in Louisville according to my friends from there, but there are a few minor variations: "Lu- uh-vul" &, more formally, "Lu-ee-ville.
@@AdventuresofMattandNat One of my oldest friends from there, the Shawnee Park area, insists that it is Looeyville. He said, & I quote, "It wasn't named for King Loo-uh."
Great video! Although Derby Pie is NOT made with pecans. You were eating walnuts in the Derby Pie. A big reason businesses were shut down was partially because of covid and the other reason was the Breonna Taylor incident.
Hell no I stay out of Louisville ..stop sugar coating all the crime.. I live outside of Louisville and work in Louisville .. my truck was broke into a funeral home In Louisville...drug and crime is over the top ..
To each their own… 🤷🏼♀️ every city has crime. Chicago, Baltimore, New York, Nashville… people live in these cities & we try to be courteous of others and their “home”. We have a positive disposition most of the time & we try to look for beauty everywhere. Have a great & blessed day! 💗
Can u make your own bat man love the videos I can’t wait for you to come to jersey but we u come to jersey the question is r you going to do south jersey or north 🤔🤔 you have love in jersey to lol
Love you guys actually went to Vegas your videos helped out a lot didn’t like Vegas and it depends what time of the year you guys are heading over here and also depends on what type of food and also what you guys want to do down in sj if your looking for beach there is wildwood also you if come to jersey you have to eat a pork roll sandwich and also if you come to south jersey Philly is actually about 15-20 mintue drive if that so you can hit two birds with one stone and go to philly and jersey
Well one is the ppl we went wth were very lazy and didn’t want tot walk second is I smoke and when I smoke i tend to notice a lot of things I felt like when I’m the casino a lot of ppl were just acting nuts and felt like was always being watched didn’t like that vibe food was good if I could do it over again I prob would have explored more of vegas also when we trave I’m usually stuck driving so this time I decdided not to didn’t want to be high and drive next stop we’re doing Florida also if you go to philly you have to go to chickienpetes if you haven’t already been there there is also a store called stocks the best pound cake ever there is also a placed called Sabrina for breakfast place is very good never ever ever had eggs taste so good and also I’m still stuck on that sun set your guys filmed man that shit was beautiful image in stuck in my head your filming is crazy good not sure if you guys ever had Puerto Rican food either but when you go to Puerto Rico gotta get something called pernil if you like pork as well
I love how nice people are in Kentucky until someone acts like a jurk when I was stationed at fort knox I had a couple battles buddies get drunk start fights and get beat up with sucks because when that happens our company had to spend the weekend in the coff I hated that lol
Right?! Spring and Fall are our favorite times to travel! 🥰 And yes, we definitely need to experience Louisville for the derby! I bet it’s awesome! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi guys. How do you like Louisville? I lived there for 12 years... do you like Louisville or Greenville, SC better. If you had kids where would you prefer to live? Thank you.
Hey!! Thanks so much for watching! Agh… man, that’s a tough one. It’s really like comparing apples to oranges considering Louisville is about 10 times bigger than Greenville as far as population goes. Personally (and I know I’m biased since I grew up there), but Greenville gets my vote. -Matt
@@AdventuresofMattandNat Thanks for your opinion. I have to say you and your wife crack me up. I am happy for both of you. You guys make a great couple. TBH Louisville is a very boring city to live there, the winters are cold/wet/grey skies. The majority are liberal and a lot of impoverished areas. Greenville at least downtown area seemed a lot more vibrant!
Well Red River Gorge is an amazing place to visit also lake Cumberland, mammoth cave, cave run lake, cave city and Corbin has the first kfc and the kfc museum and visiting small mining towns in eastern Kentucky can give you a real insight to the history and struggles of our region I hope this helps!
@@BoogBoiKY Thank so much for the insight! We’ll definitely have to check some of those out. Red River Gorge has been on our list for a while! Living in Nashville, we’ve been to/through Kentucky a lot, but never spent much time there.
