My favorite vidio! For a lot of reasons, the length for 1, you did an incredible job doing the work that you explained you were going to do or are doing. Enjoyed an extra large coffee ☕, with feet up. So many mechanical parts still available makes the squeeze of the sphincter? Much less! 😝. The fact that you are doing 90 - 95 % of the work your self makes it enjoyable too. I would love to drive the old girl. Only ever drove a cab over once before, like 39 years ago. 👀 what fun your going to have., once you get the shifting or shifter figured out, then you can 😌 relax and enjoy a different kind of view. Shifter? Well the one l drove had a mini shifter and a very worn out bunch of rods and knuckles. Like hand bobbing for ----------------, fill in the blank. No wrong answer! Don't get me wrong, it was fun! Thanks for sharing your experience/passion with us. Hope to see it completed soon. 👍👌✌🏻🍻 🙋‍♂️ 🌧 🇨🇦 👨‍🦽😎.

About this video I'm a retired Deputy Sheriff, former Army Sergeant, and currently a commercial truck driver, I have to say your work on the KW is outstanding. It's interesting to watch you work and think out loud as you do. For me to work on a big project with a tough deadline, I end up having to drop almost everything else just to keep enough focus to keep it all in my mind, not dropping any threads and improvising constantly while keeping the energy up to carry it through. You're taking on quite a lot right now and always seem to stay positive (at least on camera!) so props to your family, friends and workmates as well for keeping you supported!

I've had to drill vertical holes from the bottom on too many truck frames and big generators to count and all without the benefit of a mag base drill press. A poor man's substitute that can often be employed is to use a jack stand as a fulcrum and a long pry bar as a lever to pry the drill upwards into the hole. Takes a bit of finagling sometimes to get the geometry right and you have to use great care with the drill (especially with larger drill bits) so as to prevent it from digging in and twisting your wrist off. When you get it just right it's almost a pleasure to drill vertical holes from the bottom.

If your lights around the truck that you are adding are all LED, those type of lights use significantly less power than a standard bulb. You may not need to upgrade the wiring in order to handle it. Check the current demand of the LED lights you will be using. If you are worried about it, you can use the standard wiring to activate a relay that shunts power to all of your added lights.

Well sir please accept my humble apologies. I was one of the knuckleheads that made comments like why didn’t you do this that or the other things. Or would’ve could’ve should’ve. I should just know that you know exactly what you’re doing. My only defense is that I thought you were building a show truck only to be a show truck not one that was actually going to do a little bit of work. Anyway I love the project it looks great

I'd replace all the air lines for piece of mind and just use different color shrink wrap or tape with clear shrink wrap over the tape to keep it from coming off to color code them. If you do this periodically down the length of the line and on each end, it'll be simple to diag and know what runs where. Even different color zipties on the lines makes a simple, cheap, and no-brainer routing. Nothing worse than chasing pinhole air leaks after everything is all back together and loomed up. Spray bottle with some soapy water will be your friend at that point. The rig is looking so BADASS!!! Excellent, excellent work Rich!👍😁 P.S. The bumper, drop visor and taillight bad look GREAT!!! Love it with all the lights going across. Looks modern but suitable and not too overdone.👍👍
@TheBrokenLife
@TheBrokenLife 2 года назад
Food for thought: I've used multiple colors of zip-ties in the past to differentiate hoses/wires in a bundle before. Just tag 'em at each end, and maybe a few times along the run, and it's _almost_ as good as multicolored runs.

Any chance we'll get to see how the wheel alignment job gets done? This has been a mammoth job, great to see you not getting overwhelmed and sticking to your time/cost constraints. Most people (RU-vidrs) would have either bailed out on the project, or just handed over bulk cash to someone else to finish it off for them!

An alternative to colored air lines is colored zipties. Just put a colored tie at each end and anywhere they bunch up if you can't get colored lines. Also works for wiring but that's more of a pain as wires are smaller and tend to let out the magic smoke when things fo wrong.
