how do you straight back with the exhausts sticking out so much? im not a trucker so im genuinely curios looks like it would be a pain in the ass trying to look around those
Yep.. I'm a W-9 fan from WAY back.. can't really describe it but I love 'em .. with the right wheelbase and bedroom options.. and manual trans of course..
Eso es lo más bestial que tiene Kenworth y sobretodo me encanta ese camión que por cierto es mi favorito y aunque no posea uno cada vez que lo veo rodar en las calles suspiro profundamente y le doy gracias a Dios por permitirlo verlo.
As from a developing country down in tropics i really trust Kenworth truck coz they deliver without doubt, even old model or new they are very tough, they can climb steep terrain with heavy loads tho the road is unpaved...very trusted brand.
Love the 86” sleeper size and the integral cab/sleeper, but otherwise I prefer the Peterbilt. With a 6NZ & an 18 speed, 22.5 wheels on aluminum & 3.55-3.58 rears. 8-10” pipes. No cab/sleeper tour?
It matches the color on my 66 GTO, but no metal flake in my flame red. I have airbrushed flames on the hood and down the front fenders to the ends of the doors. This is a great looking 900L. I've always loved the KWs, and driven a few too.
I used to own a Kenworth semi it was a wonderful truck I love that truck so much I wish I had it today in the gentleman that just showed this one I wish I had the money today because I would go to him and buy it
I like the 2 piece windshield option. It gives that classic look on an already classic looking truck. I assume drivers probably think it obstructs their view.
@@KenworthofRichfield Shit I wouldn't care if the one piece has more visibility..i wouldn't get a w9 for fuel efficiency and or visibility or turning radius lol I know you give those things up to have that truck. But you deal with it cause your driving an American icon lol.
I apologise if my questions are silly. I grew up driving stick and i hate the automatic. But even then, shifting 18 gears sounds terrifying. Is it easy to learn and master 18 speed transmission? Also, is it possible to find trucks with this classic style (W900 or Pete 389) with an automatic gearbox? Do they make it nowadays?
I love the questions! 18 speeds isn't as intimidating as it sounds as long as you know what each switch does. You can order a W900 with an automated transmission no problem!
Nice truck . Something i am looking for next yr. Like the paccar 510 and a allison with 3.73 gears and send it to customs studio sleeper to get the sleeper redone. Also looking at a t 800 with a studio same spec need to stop by one day
I wish theyd make expanding sleepers. Like an RV that opens up when parked. Imagine the convenient size of a 40” sleeper while driving and the luxury of a 80” whiles parked
Is there anyplace I can’t get a pretty all encompassing information on options available from the factory for a W900L and a T680? I want to be able to go through and build out the trucks I’m aiming for.
Unfortunately, there's no public "build it" program out there. Really, when it comes down to it, it's the cab options that are different between the two.
Would’ve like to see the inside of that beast. Same engine in the peterbilt. You must be short; compared to that truck lol. Does it have disk brakes? What’s the turning radius (just asking)?
I'm 5'9"....so not short...but I'm no jolly green giant either. LOL The inside is the same as the Midnight blue one that I did the video before. It's drum brakes on that truck. I don't have the turning radius chart on it....but it is a 280" W9.....so keep that in mind. :D
Why are the fuel filler openings in the most awkward positions. The tank filler opening needs to be mounted behind the bunk in a top not slanted position so, one, you can access the fuel fill point, two, in facing upwards instead of slanted over to the side due to bunk obstructions, you can get an extra 20 to 30 gallons in the tank. I am I missing something here? Always frustrated when fueling, knowing if the tank is mounted different, I can access it easier plus get more fuel in the tank. Must be some regulation that says tanks must be slanted to the side so you can only get 120 or 130 instead of 150 in the tank.
@@Dudemieser Not sure the year model but I drove one W900L Studio for a week that the filler located behind the bunk by the catwalk. It was slanted to the side but not as bad. You could easily get the tanks full. If I ever get to where I can buy my own truck I spend the money to remount the tanks to my specs. Either way W900L still the best truck on the roads.
Kenworth of Richland i have a 1974 K121 an want to replace the front windshield i have the windows but the window gaskets i got from KW are wrong they are to big is there a difference in the years they made them the gaskets i have are 2 in bigger then the opening
Going back that far, the would be a difference. The cab has stayed largely the same, but I believe that there was a total redesign back in the mid-80's. That could be part of the problem with it. You may have to look at a restoration house to see if they can find a piece that would work.
I'm guessing that is a 280" frame? Can you order a 300" frame? With the New Fontaine Revolution flatbed trailers a longer frame would give you the added room for the tool box on the back of the 86" sleeper. The full deck on the back would also grant better access to the door on the front of an Aero Conestoga XP sliding tarp system, not to mention being safer footing as well. As you may know, some flatbed loads require you to move the fifth-wheel forward quite a bit to transfer weight to the front axle. I'm just thinking it might be a good idea to have a little extra room between the units since you have so much going on in that space. I love the door hinges on that truck btw. Note to factory: MORE BLACK LEATHER AND CARBON FIBER #HOLLYWOOD
Yup! 280" frame but we can easily order something in a 300" without a problem. If you need something spec'd, we can get pretty much anything that you'd want. :D
@@KenworthofRichfield Did Cummins fix the problems they had with the top end of their engines yet? They have had issues since the early 90's on and off. You either get an engine that is bullet proof, like the 350 cum-a-long in my 87 Western Star, or it can't pass a service station without getting the valve train tuned. I really like the silver on burgundy red color scheme. Very close to the Mercedes Mclaren colors. But another classic color scheme is the black on burgundy red, which was very popular on the 1960's Cadillac fleetwood. Why don't I see more of these colors pre-ordered from dealers like yourself? Do you sell gliders and what is the current legal situation on them? I am in the market, as you might have guessed, but the lead times are horrendous due to last year's record orders backlog. How much would I have to put down to spec a truck for delivery March 2020? I live in Maryland BTW. I was about to put money down on a 379 Pete at the Peterbilt Store but they didn't know the equipment and were arrogant as hell. They just don't give a shit and obviously don't want my business. As I was driving out of the lot I saw a W900L decked out, I remembered that studio sofa sleeper and I made up my mind right then and there. I AM going to build a fleet of 8-10 combinations over the next 5 - 6 years. I want all the tractors to be spec'd exactly the same so I need someone knowledgeable who I can build a relationship with. My motto is "DON'T LIE, CHEAT, STEAL OR TOLERATE ANYONE WHO DOES" I need someone who believes in the same values. #HOLLYWOOD
903 is a completely different truck not available here in states to my knowledge. The W900L and W900B have different length hoods/frames. The L being the longer of the two.
Kenworth of Richfield are you sure it’s completely different? I see that it uses the same hood, cab and exterior components as the W900/W900B. Also, by W900 & W900B, I mean W900 vs W900 w/ a “B” designation for the model.
Whats the price Went forward alot to get to whats under the hood Thats what matters to me. Been driving 18 yrs Ready to get a new truck. Want the W900 or Mack Anthem Leaning to W900 tho
Hey can I buy a new kw with a 6 x 4 instead of a troublesome 18 speed Also I would like a QSK 19 Cummins I am Kinda of a old school guy I like 2 transmissions & big horsepower ???
Driving a w900l you tried to describe what it’s like driving one. I agree it’s feeling like you are part of the truck. But also the fuel mileage is not that good. I owned a w900l. Best truck I have every had. I also had a t660 Which was a good truck put over 1 million on. Now have a kenworth t680. Yes good fuel mileage. But what’s the point of good fuel mileage when it’s always in the shop. Next spring I am going to get me a w900l or a 389. Depends on the best deal.
Kenworth of Richfield Thank you!!! 2 weeks ago I had all new seals s cams bushings on drivers plus I had the air assist valve replaced on clutch. Month before had another rear seal put on transmission for the 4 or 5 time. That is on a reman transmission which was put in a year ago that leaked until this last time. New dpf. Heater pump now it needs a line heater. Dozer valve thostats, Just to name a few this is a small list. But I do like the paccar engine it’s been good. Lost transmission because the cooler went out dumped coolant in transmission. That don’t work out very good,
Why not spec with 2050 torque , and I would have done the full gauges NO costly NAV when it goes out. It looks like it has room for a pusher but the air tanks would have to be moved from under the added tool box Great color the whole truck hasen't changed much since 1983
Brian Nuse should have put the 605 hp X15 with 2050 With 383 rear gears and 38 000lbs rears front should have been 20 000lbs instead of 17000 . Other then that great truck !
Thanks for replying. That is not as expensive as I thought. Since I was a little kid I have always loved a Kenworth, especially the W900. Keep posting these videos. Thanks again.
nice truck, from a distance.., but when you get close; all I see is 100's of rivets. what's with all the rivets on the outside...??? it's not 1963 anymore....
Kenworth of Richfield btw keep up the good work I love to watch ur videos! I am disabled and if I wasn't I'd be a truck driver and if I could I'd have me a Kenworth!
