When you be entering the flight from abroad and the hostesses be like “karibu nyumbani” and this theme song be hitting the background, it really be a wonderful feeling 🙂
I travel to Kenya frequently, and love the Country and its people. I always support and fly Kenya Airways. As soon as I board the Aircraft at London Heathrow, l feel I have arrived in Africa. There's always a warm welcome from the Cabin crew, with great African hospitality. On most of my Kenya Airways flights do I hear this theme song, I must say if I don't get to hear it, (albeit its played as backing music to the safety video demonstration) then I would be disappointed. The theme music is great very appropriate and African!
Ok I am not a Kenyan but a Nigerian. However i have been to Kenya twice in addition to working with a Fintech based out in Nairobi. This song is sweet and makes me remember good people of Kenya. The flight experience was wonderful and I love this song to the extent I have been playing it repeatedly. Went as far as checking the advert made with the same song in 1994 for KQ and the guy that composed the song (Matthew Peevers in 1993). I will definitely visit sometimes soon to enjoy the nature and the animals in Kenya. For now Asante Sana for the beautiful song

just Love that Theme... after almost 3 years of correspondence with my Beautifull Girlfreind acorss boarders and continents i finally suceeded in taking all the way from denmark to zambia to meet hear , the Love of my Life... and i used Kenya Airways almost all the way from Amsterdam to Nairobi and then from Nairobi to Livingstone in Zambia. That song bring back so manie unforgettable memories of ouer time together. Am allready planning to go there again soon.... I know, I remember as a child going up the airport balcony( they don’t do that anymore) and seeing all the kenya airways planes lined up together, so sad that they went downhill because of corruption and mismanagement.

Being in the aviation Industry as a Young Arab boy who was born in Kenya living abroad I went to South Africa to attend a course the Classroom was having Pilots and Air traffic Controllers from Nairobi I was just more than happy to meet with Them The Knowledge and Experience they had to share was just something I had to Learn so much From them I really felt proud to be born In Kenya tumezungumza Kiswahili wakafurahi Sana they were just like Ahhh Mwarabu You speak fluent Swahili 😊😁

I am proud of KQ Kenya Airways though it says pride of Africa in my view it is the Pride of the World, because it has the best services on board that you can not find on some of the leading Airlines in the World which you may know if you are frequent flyer or you traveled by Airline. When I lived and worked in UAE from 2009-2015, I deliberately purchased KQ return tickets or requested the companies that I worked for to book KQ return tickets for me, just so I could experience the nostalgia that this KQ theme song brought as well as the overall onboard "karibu nyumbani" experience and service of the airline crew. Reminds me once I traveled with KQ's Boeing 767 from Nairobi to Dar, though it was a short distance, but I enjoyed each and every moment of it, how I wish to go for a longer journey with KQ, most preferably Bangkok.

Visiting Kenya for the first time from USA. Looked up this song while sitting at the gate before we took off. It is so beautiful and captivating. Can't even explain why it's making me emotional. How am I nostalgic for a place I've never been? 😂😂
