for future bills fans in this comment section don’t be so entirely discouraged by this film necessarily, he is not the pick I would have made but I really do think his skill set will shine with josh. If there is anything this film really shows is how bad FSU qb play really is I mean they clearly felt that they needed to be getting keon involved if they are getting a guy with his tools throws behind the LOS so much and he just will not be utilized like that at all in buffalo. He is going to be used for redzone catches, scramble drill, short to intermediate inside and outside passes and potentially even outside the numbers on deep bombs with a good mismatch or his long speed coming into account rather than that 40 time. While I was discouraged looking at this film I see where beanes head is at for sure and I see potential X but most likely just going to be big slot redzone threat.
I hope you’re right but how many slot guys can we have and who’s the deep threat? I went into this thinking he may not be fast but he’s big with good hands and great at contested catches. I came out thinking he’s not fast with decent hands and good at contested catches. I don’t see it, I think he’d be a good no2 or a big slot but again we don’t really have an outside receiver. I hope they see something I don’t because at that pick I think they could’ve gotten better guys.
@@nicolaswalsh5651 I agree that there were some better dudes on the board at this point for sure, I think samuel has outside versatility but that is something we lack for sure. I think the most encouraging thing for me about it all is just how he measured in speed when actually running the routes comparative to the 40 time. also the 4.61 is bad but dudes around his comp run similar times like tee higgins also the basketball/football freaky contested catcher build ran a 4.55 and he has proven himself to be able to win consistently on the outside with his frame and ability to high point the ball rather then game breaking speed
@@Billsdude17 that dude is tripping, Coleman will never be in the slot. Brady likes a lot of short behind the scrimmage throws and short throws. This dude is a yac monster. We finally have a jump ball receiver. The last one we had was Duke Williams…. Remember him????
If he had a better QB he’d probably be more dominant. Elite athleticism. Gotta concentrate more on easy passes. Use his physicality more at the catch point. Can set up his routes better too. Late 1st early 2nd grade. The physical traits put him in the 1st but the weaknesses could land him in the 2nd.
Hollins is also fine - I'm sure he will be there for a play here and there. Also a coupe guys coming online and added some new ones to compete in camp for the remaining targets: MVS, Claypool, Cephus, Shorter, Etc. They are clearly going to be seeing who has the most synergy with the team's scheme and chemistry with Allen. One of those guys is probably going to really want it and come out on top. When you have a legendary QB like Allen it is going to bring the best out of a lot of these guys looking for second chances.
as a Bills fan I'm not liking what I see here. Why did they not just grab Worthy at 28 and trade back up into the 2nd to also get AD Mitchell? They're still sorely lacking at WR and have one of the bottom rooms in the league post-draft. Edit: Wow as it goes on it's worse than I thought. Just seems slow and lumbering, no ability to break tackles, juke, burst into open fields and avoid people, no separation at all, and hands don't seem all that good TBH. Seems like a slightly more coordinated but slower version of Gabe Davis...Why did they not just go for it and trade up for Odunze??????????
I don't know why so many people are worried about him. I see a WR carrying his team because his QB is trash. Most of the passes that were incomplete were absolute terrible passes. Once he has the ball he's extremely driven which I think will fair well for us. You also have to look at Brady's plan, he's not looking for a sole #1. He wants range in the position to keep the defense guessing. No more "its going to Diggs double him" Now we have at least 3 receivers we can rotate through that at any given time could be getting the ball. That to me is way more valuable than having Diggs complaining for the ball every play from double coverage. Diggs also had booty for YAC the last two seasons. He caught the ball and laid down before he could get hit.
I donno I’m not really impressed.
Tons of manufactured passes behind the line of scrimmage and contested catches. Maybe I’m wrong, but I wouldn’t want a qb throwing to a receiver in the NFL who doesn’t separate enough between the corners
i agree I’m a bills fan so this is my reality but I will say the manufactured passes just aren’t the ones to watch. there is no way in hell that keon gets even a single touch or look behind the LOS in the NFL bc he is just too slow, my assumption on why there were so many of the behind the line passes is because travis just sucks he just doesn’t have the talent consistently to get the hands in the playmakers. in almost all of the drops or miscues I think can mostly be put on the lack of football and coordination of travis when navigating the pocket and reading what he is looking at
@@user-ij5bf3mm7phe’s not even slow, he is the 3rd fastest WR running routes in the combine out of all WRs.. game speed is different than running the 40..
@@J_Brianmy point was he will just get blown up behind the LOS trust me I know his route and long speed I have faith in that but if you run a 4.61 you clearly are just lacking that true game breaking acceleration so there would be no reason IMO to try to get him involved behind the LOS because we have guys that are really really good at shaking and just burning guys while keon would just be extremely average IMO utilized like that
I don't see why buffalo drafted this kid. He's dropped a ton of passes and I'm only a couple minutes into the tape. I do not see his game translating to the nfl.
Carolina is a bad spot for him. He needs to go somewhere that plays him in the slot due to his poor separation/route running. Carolina is already stockpiled with slot receivers
Josh said he wanted Coleman plus most of the drops was because of the qb he is better at blocking than gabe already and looks really good in practice. Plus he is a rookie don’t hate on him yet
Agreed he can’t separate for shit. Alot of his catches were manufactured to get him open and a lot of those jump ball tds he’s fully extending him arms to push the db away from him.
He had terrible QB play and FSU had him running minimal routes. He ran more routes at Michigan State also to all of the 4.61 doubters he ran a 4.53 forty at his pro day.
Yeah ok hater....FSU QB Jordan Travis has 10,000 career total yrds as a dual threat QB with 2yrs starting. A bad QB more less a bad player doesnt have those numbers. Keon Coleman will be one of the best WR in this draft...during live ball in the season.
@@tylergreenfield6158 This kid had a very hard road to even be drafted. He Hes a south FL HS kid started at Louis ville and after Covid almost quit football and asked to be a WR because of mental health issues... .FSU Coach Norvell assured him a shot at QB. in his sophomore yr. He led FSU on a (19 game-winning streak) ...this kid beat Oklahoma & Taylor Gabriel, LSU Hesiman winner Jayden Daniels at the Superdome & Orlando, beat Florida twice, Miami twice, beat Clemson last yr in Death Valley where they only loss 3 times in 10yrs.... Jordan Travis led FSU back to prominence in College football, The kid has the biggest heart I've ever seen. His arm talent isn't great but I believe it's good enough, he can read defenses good but is raw because he played in Norvell's offense is run oriented, before his unfortunate injury when he broke his leg, I bet he would have been fastest 40 time for a QB in the draft. FSU fans don't care too much either way if he's great or not in NFL....his ability to even battle the worst times in FSU football after Covid to become a run 1st QB to a decent to good passer was huge achievement all in itself. A 7th round pick UDFA is fine by many of Seminole Nation. Jordan Travis will be an all time Florida State great...to me hes 4th best QB right behind Ward,Weinke, Winston...then Jordan. I hope the best for him.
Too many drops, not impressed. Looks like Gabe Davis on a bad day. After watching this, we got to go receiver huntin for a veteran trade. This guy is just a developmental prospect at best.
Good thing you're not a GM. He was one of the receivers with the least drops. Only 5 official drops in his college career. Understand there's some sub-optimal throws from a marginal college qb at FSU. He was also playing hurt 2nd half of 2023.
@@BillsMafiaExperience I'll gladly eat my words if he shows better on Bills videos than he shows here. And I'll take potential gm candidate off all future resumes. lol
Im here after being beat down with all reels showing off his "personality" "humor" and "charisma" just to actually see what he's bout. 🤔 from what I see , gotta drops habit, can't separate that well in tight coverage & 50/50s. He's a playmaker forsure. Probably not the best route runner. He may be really good for Buffalo though only time will tell. Weak hands for his size tho. Gotta stop dropping open shots too. Improve on the 50/50s
For a so called jump ball receiver… this guy sure looks hella uncomfortable tracking and attacking the ball in the air. What’s he gonna look like vs NFL corners and press coverage?? 🫣😬
