Agree that some mods look good but among the overmodified ones there are some which look very ugly but they won't admit it as after spending all that money saying it's new gen fashion and all stuff. I like lowkey good looking modifications which does not hinder performance.
@borek obunga Atleast they're trying Their best dude !! and in my opinion kerala has the best modified vehicles especially motorcycles and some cars too . In other states i don't see much car scene .
Police fines are a major source of income for our Kerala government. Youths are providing genouros funds to Kerala economy by giving police fines for illegal modifications and also pumps money into the market via local workshops that modify cars thus providing living wage to semiskilled labours like welderss, sheet metal workers, workshop mechanics etc😉
As a keralite myself , we grew up reading automobile magazines and weekly's.. the passion was injected since young age.. thanks to fast-track , Top gear , drive , etc...
@@GamingBeastR4W most accidents, most cruel ppls, killing elephant, dog that too brutally, and calling themselves literates 😂😂😂 Most of the kerala boys are chapris.
I went to Kerala in November for Holidays. And it suprised me that every guy of my age (19-25) owns a bike, especially there is a craze of MT15. And every guy owns a customised helmet wether he is driving a scooty or moped. They have good craze adopting new vibes
As a Malayalee…I’m happy people like our car culture.. I’m currently working on a Suzuki esteem track car with my homies and aim to push around 300 WHP.. Will take a lot of time and money but there is nothing that can replace our time and memories spent around that car..

The fact is that Kerala has one of the toughest or strict motor vehicle laws in India and still people are modifying their vehicles is due to their passion and love towards vehicles ❤
I’m from Tamilnadu, I’m sure the eye towards art and architecture is so lit 🔥 in Kerala. It’s so evident in automobiles and houses especially. A big fan!

We know the govt has banned modifications to curb down the illegal activities, but i urge the govt to make laws like, to charge a little extra to whoever wants to modify their car and mention that in their RC. 📝 Its seriously disheartening that 0 rated cars are being sold but modified cars are termed "unsafe". Whoever wants to take care of their car, won't end up committing crimes with it, and even if they do, they can be easily spotted, can't they? #SaveModification #CheersToTheCarCommunity!
Its not just Kerala its all around India because of how the registration works in India its not like in US where you can get numberplate with custom numbers or letters or change color inserted in India even the color engine tyres size and chasis type is in the registration certificate RC and thus can't be changed
I'm from Karnataka and i have to say Kerala dudes have serious interest in modifying cars. In my clg there were few Kerala students driving modified city and civics which were cool af, But they got busted here by the police.
SUGGESTION: The government should give a modification permit based on displacement for which they can charge extra money and issue a certificate to allow the owner to modify his vehicle. If revenue can be generated from Alcohol than why not modification? Modification is much better than alcohol addiction. It should be legal. It is a great source of revenue.
What if people misuse permit and make killer vehicles? They can't check vehicles every couple of months and also modification experts thinks far better than MVD. Personal opinion, ready to correct if iam wrong 😂
The modified cars which you showed are used for car shows in colleges not for daily on-road usage.Kerala police and MVD are very vigilant in catching modified vehicles and charging fine.
True. They are transported on flatbeds. I live in kerala and i don't find much of them on road. Kerala MVD is pretty strict and if they find any one, they will confiscate it and will only be released after restoring it to original form.
I am from Malappuram. There is trend on importing cars lately. There has been a lot of JDM with Dubai reg kicking nearby roads like the GTR, supra and other brands like subarus, dodges etc
As a petrol head Malayali, I would like to say that we love our vehicles. Anything that has tyres and has an engine, we immediately are attracted towards it. I think the fact that we know how to appreciate someone else’s vehicle and the work that they have done, that’s what makes us love this community more and more. People of all age group literally admire the vehicles, be it a car or a motorcycle or a bus or a truck, we love them all. One thing I remember and my cousins also agree with me is that, when we were kids, we used to see the way our fathers and uncles drove their cars, we would have just one prayer at that time - that God please, I want to grow up soon so that I can get a license and start driving. We are obsessed with our vehicles, also the fact that, literacy did help us read, read about the modifications that could be done, basic stuff like air filters, free flow exhaust, etc, the list goes on. Now literacy should not be confused with education, literacy is basically the ability to read and write, that’s what we did, we read about the modifications, read about the performance parts, read about the consequence, discussed with amongst ourselves, hence increasing our knowledge. Finally, I just want to say that this madness that you see, I mean you can call it madness, but we call it passion.
Actually I'm from Kerala . We are modifying cars bcause it's our passon craze on cars. Even my father modified a old bolero rare model with a special type of roof.
Bro in Kerala, we give a soul to the vehicles, we see them as a living being,we can't even bare if vehicle got a single scratch. This shows how much we love them, we make an identify of our own from the vehicle. No matter if cops chargers fine we pay, remove it for them and replace it now we are getting used to it...
@@arunkurian9367 in India no-one is greater than the constitution, yeah if there is a law then sure why not. I do buy enough clothes for my children, do you need some for yours.
For those unaware, Kerala also has a publication dedicated to the tuner culture. Quarter Mile magazine. I believe it was one of the first such publications dedicated to serve enthusiasts in the country.
Kerala have a life standard and political mindset like a latin american country this reflect in our dressing, filming, schooling, football and vehicles, architecture and foods.
Its not only about money. We can see high end vehicles being bought in other states too but in Kerala we are keen in keeping the vehicles in good condition whether a mod or stock. Also mods are done after a lot of research and by the size of the pocket. Edit: you can see not only mods but there are a lot of enthusiasts who proudly owns vintage and collectibles who actually uses the vehicle and not as a showpiece.
We really appreciate to your efforts you have taken here for this video brother.... Not just for the keralas modification part but also about some other informations that i really didnt know.... Thankyou brother...a new SUBSCRIBER for uo channel from KERALA itself....Tc bro...🎉
I live in delhi but i belong from kerala... As compared to Delhi, kerala government is too much strict when it comes to vehicle modification. Imagine when you get a ticket for a simple headlight mod or stickering
Petition to remove the 10 Year Rule in delhi for Diesel cars this is just done for extracting more taxes and not for pollution We have one Rapid 1.6 TDI 2014 have to sell it soon 😕
Im from a small village in kerala. Near my house a guy has a maruti zen thats engine is replaces by an i4 engine and also put a turbo charger in that. That car is famous in our village and it is wrapped also
Punjab and Kerala are very similar states and similar in thoughts. Both progressive outgoing people who believe in larger than life culture. Both have high living standards and per capita GDP. Both have high literacy rates. Both have connections in foreign countries Kerala in Middle East whereas Punjab in US, Canada and Europe. Both states have the culture of modification to vehicles and both face similar issues of self created restrictions under our constitution.
There’s a very similar scene with bikes as well. You get to see a lot of tasteful mods with silencer and cosmetics. Certain bikes like Duke, Himalayan, R15 have huge cult followings and groups which regularly meet and share their passion. I personally never could afford my own bike or car, but I remember feeling how cool it used to look when my friends who modified their vehicles drove it to college regularly.
Usually in kerala the people who modify these cars have another daily driver cars and the modified car will be our project car and we would only be taking it out rarely and usually at nights or weekends and definitely not at months last week because during those time the cops would be patrolling more in order to make the monthly target.
They catch them too. My frnd replaced a Contessa engine & someone reported it to police. It was beautiful. Didn't even get a chance to sit in it. Kerala police are assholes
Kerala have Skyline, Silvia, Supera and S2000 you can see them in College Auto Fest done by Mechanical Engineering students in Kerala Engineering Colleges.....
To add to the topic, the state of Meghalaya also has a unique and tasteful car culture. The other northeast states too, though not as much as Meghalaya.
Small state kerala has more than 160+ engineering colleges which conducts auto show once a year. We spend huge amount of money for auto show... Evwn our car is alto or audi we keep it clean. Driving culture is better when compared to north even though north east states has best driving culture in india.
As a keralian modification is the biggest offence in kerala. If you do any robbery doesnt matter to cops. but ifu put a exhaust in your car or bike thats a biggest offence ever. അനുഭവം ഗുരു ⚡️
Don't worry bro, later or sooner peoples of kerala will vote for new laws that will make sure modification legal without compermising the quality standards. Peoples are awesome you know. When peoples demands for modification, who will oppose. It's just the peoples who makes the laws. Hope for the best. Afterall it's an art and we can't let those artists born for nothing.
Bhopal have a growing trend, though not as prominent as in Kerala. Bhopal's off-road culture might be lesser-known, but it's still noteworthy. Many enthusiasts in the region take pride in restoring and modifying classic jeeps, adding features like lift kits, oversized tires, and custom paint jobs. The off-road scene is developing with more events, clubs, and enthusiasts getting involved. Compared to Kerala, where the off-road culture is more established, Bhopal is catching up with its unique style and local flavor, offering an exciting space for 4x4 and vintage vehicle lovers.
This culture should be promoted as it can generate and support a whole new industry providing employment, no other country has such strict laws be it US or some European country. There are so many car enthusiasts out there in India 🇮🇳 who can even represent India on international level.
title of this video according to thumbnail - kerala needs to calm down NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Never Calm down kerela, your car scene is one of the rare and quintassential ones that's keeping the car modification and creativity and performance mod scenario alive in india, all of us around india look to kerela and you guys should proudly continue to expand this creative sub culture....
I think the thing about kerela is just a Hype , You have most Custom workshops areound delhi and Punjab , Guys Like Rajputana Customs , Crez Spec , Hyper Cruz are criminally underrated , its just the mods of the northern part are do not have good pr.
7:53 I am living near by the same region. Modifocation is thing in kerala because if look on to the roads finding a car without an modified alloy wheel is difficult.
On dot.. you did good research. Don't know whether it's because of the literacy rate or not, but yeah, Kerala got some amazing car culture #KDM (Kerala domestic market). Couple of things you missed out is the KSRTC rollercoaster rides and their fans, the huge Bus culture and the vanlife culture.
Modifications without touching the Structural integrity of the car should be allowed legally. But if we put even one single drill hole in the structure it can lead to serious security threats over a period of time.
As a keralite.. we grew up with automobiles.... magazines, TV programs ... so we are closed to automobiles.... not only cars. You should check bikes in Kerala too
