I never even thought I would be beating this level. A lot of things led to this, and it's pretty crazy that this is the point that I've gotten to. But here we are. As you can see if you watch the video, this level was chosen for me after the Bloodlust attempt guessing game, with the winner being api. Thing is, api's pretty much arch-nemesis level is Erebus, and to mess with me, after winning the game, he made me play this. I really didn't wanna play this level, and I was basically sure that I wouldn't end up pulling through with this. I was still willing to give it a try though. I started playing it, and, surprisingly, the level was actually fun. I had a blast doing 64-100, almost 39-100 and 25-100 (ended up doing this one earlier than the previous one). But then, the pre-drop happened. I know that literally every victor says this (except for Vikings but he's not a human so we don't count him) but the pre-drop is genuinely at least half of the difficulty of the level. And, guess what, playing something that hard so much from 0 and dying all the time is not fun. But, as with all things, it did get more consistent eventually. I was starting to actually get progress, getting good runs like 47%, 48%, 59% and 61%. And then, everything stagnated. With the only other notable run of that time being 61% a second time, progress stagnated REALLY badly. I was playing for 17 days AT LEAST 3 hours a day, most of the time going way above that. But progress was just not coming. I had to go away from home for about 2-3 weeks, so I decided that I would spend that time taking a break from the level to come back with full strength. The time passed, and as I returned home I continued playing the level. The first few days were fine, but something wasn't feeling right. The build-up, specifically 25-39, was really giving me a lot of trouble. So I decided to rethink my approach for the level and hard grind the level from 25, forcing myself to do that run to 100 every day I played. And the first day of grinding from 0 after that... It happened. After a whopping 1 month 7 days I actually got a new best. It all went VERY smoothly from there. 65%, 67%, 68%, 69%, 75%, 91%, all in the span of 3 days. Progress was insane. After that, I got 92%, which was a really stupid death. But it didn't matter in the end as I ended up finally beating the level an hour later.
As for my opinions on the level, it's easily the most mid thing I've ever played. The good and the bad balance themselves out perfectly. 25-100 being a fun run while 0-25 being shit, the decoration being very average, and the song being nothing really special either. I don't know if I would really recommend this level, especially as a new hardest. It definitely isn't the most fun thing ever, but it has its positives.
