StarCraft & Brood War 3 Players CO-OP: Zerg Exp 04 The Liberation of Korhal Made by MynameisLol Playlist: • StarCraft Intro Download Link: www.moddb.com/...
The more you play the Zerg campaign, you learn that the UED's plan in enslaving the Overmind destined to fail as they were losing control over the creature. Kerrigan's real enemy here was the Overmind, and she knew that the UED had nothing to stop it once it reached maturity and broke free. That's why she needed Protoss, especially the Dark Templar on her side.
It's more like the extent of the control they had cannot reach to further planets, hence Kerrigan realizing that their "Psi Disrupter" is not as invincible as she thought. This is also the reason why after the battle of Korhal she decided to betray them immediately as she no longer needs them and only requires the DTs to kill the Overmind. I have to admit though. Dugalle was a terrible Admiral. Not only is he naive in believing Duran about Stukov betraying him (while also the one stating that a turncoat is always a turncoat), but he is also stupid enough to rely more on their enslaved Overmind, while at the same time not bringing their advanced technologies (only a couple of them like the Valkyries, Medics, and Spartan Companies (Goliaths with Charon Boosters). He truly needs to study tactics after all, and by Duke at that!
@thegreatzephyr1776 Yes, that was also explained in mission 6 as they were using scientists to coordinate the Zerg. However in Zerg mission 8 the UED built Science Facilities on Char to coordinate the Zerg as they did on Tarsonis (which confirms they are having hard times in controlling the creature even on Char) and the Overmind directs it's attacks on the UED as soon as the facilities are destroyed. Although that part was cut from the original campaign, it seemed that the UED had no hope to maintain control over the Overmind for long. Even if the UED brought their most advanced tech, they had no chance in stopping the mature Overmind because its basically immortal. You can curse Blizzard for giving the creature such plot armor, but that's how it works in the Koprulu sector.
@@thegreatzephyr1776 He's even way stupid when you realize that the power generators were placed outside the psi disruptor's fortress, just to ensure the player has a chance to destroy it. Also, regarding the Overmind, Duran likely didn't brief DuGalle and Stukov about its powers and the full extent of controlling the entire Swarm halfway throughout Ep V before his betrayal, so the UED has most likely only read basic stuff about the Zerg and thought that mere drugs are enough to pacify the Overmind. Lastly, because the Dominion (and to an extent, the Confederacy) considered the psi disruptor a lost piece of tech, it's implied they have never used it before and thus had little to no information on how the psi disruptor's mechanics function. That's why they relied on the Overmind because of the simple fact that it's the strongest Zerg entity that controls every zerg and controlling it neuters the hive mind. The UED had literally little to basic knowledge about their alien enemies in the sector and that's amusing.
Man, this has to be one of the hardest missions yet. The amount of mutalisks made my jaw drop. Tough defenses and some very heavy enemy attacks. Very well played by everyone!
4:53 6:18 8:39 Geez, like kicking in a hornet nest😅😂. 9:47 that one Ultralisk celebrate for Mengsk's rethroning.🤣 I wonder what will happen if Raynor, Fenix and Mengsk were not caught off guard and actually prepared for Kerrigan? Would be a cool mini campaign, even a new timline.
UED: We can't make devourers and guardians, even Scourge for some reason Captain: Don't care. Make Mutalisks. UED: How many, sir? Captain: 100 Mutalisks
I'm puzzled what's happening in the internal affairs of the UED when they finally controlled the infant Overmind. Some don't want the idea of controlling a race that ravaged Terran and Protoss colonies and would rather destroy them, so there may be room for infighting within UED ranks, but aside from the traitor Duran, it wasn't explored due to protagonist-centered bias.
Mengsk: "Commence the *damn* attack!" I wonder what Kerrigan was thinking at this moment. Did she watch too much Wrath of Khan, and thought abandoning Mengsk on a irradiated hellscape would be fitting? [Honestly, I didn't expect him to bounce back either.] Did she imagine eviscerating him at that moment? Did she imagine looking over at Raynor and saying 'Y'know, I won't kill him- But I can't control what you do." Did Durand convince her she couldn't kill Mengsk?
Good point. I always liked the difference in doctrines between the Dominion (ground) and the UED (air). If the Dominion controlled a brood they would probably have a preference for Ultralisks.
Omg is the white enemy using cheat 'Operation Cwal' or something? That nonstop mutalisk spawn is really insane This mission seem really hard seriously, good job to you boys for coordinating so well in this mission
I am sincerely overjoyed to see this co-op campaign as it is, the Zerg BW campaign looks so much more interesting with all 3 factions fighting together. A shame this is probably the last time we'll see them all fighting side by side.
This Jack of All Trades alliance is so good for big invasions. Sadly.. it wont last forever (also I love how the UED seems to be in danger controlling the overmind... and yet they use a Muta's swarm to defend themselfs)
The Dominion and the Protoss are assaulting the main UED base here, Raynor's boys are dealing with the outlying fortification along with Raynor and Fenix.
Meanwhile, on StarCraft Alternate… With their haul of minerals and Stasis Cells, The attack on Tarkossia commences. Raynor and Draliska are tasked with drawing enemy reinforcements away from the battle site. That site will be where one of Duran's Executors, Zasz aboard his Behemoth, and some men Raynor could spare will be at. Despite facing the 7th Fleet under Andraxxus, they decimate the enslaved Protoss and the Primal Zerg, leaving Tarkossia to Kerrigan once more. Though the time of betrayal is soon at hand…
