This is my album review of the new Kerry King thrash metal album 'From Hell I rise and I give my rating and reaction to the album plus I wonder if this album is really like a Slayer mark II album, or Slayer without Tom Aray, Gary Holt and Dave Lombardo?

There are no surprises here but I love the aggression on the album. 2 or 3 songs cut would be great. But I like it. Great review Almar and I hope all is well my friend. Cheers

I agree with you about Kerry not being your guy. I'm also not big on Bostoph either. Cut the 13 songs down to 8.

Yes it is a bit too long, I think with 8-9 songs this actually could have been a punch in your face album in some way. Thanks for watching

absolutely. It's a stronger album if some songs were cut. It's a difficult listen going straight through to the end. I get bored half way through.

What you said is a more general problem nowadays: You can find nice vocals, nice, technical guitar playing , nice drumming BUT where can you find COMPOSERS ? With solid musical education in background and of course with inspiration?

It is such an interesting thing and a weird situation, one one hand we want new stuff but if it is not new stuff we like we get angry that it is too far from the old stuff. I think a lot of these guys are stuck in a circle of expectations and it is not always fair. I think this album would have been considered a masterpiece in 1988 or so but today it is in many ways just more of the same. Top shelf quality for sure but nothing that we will look back at in 20 years and think wow. I feel this feeling in me every time I review an album now with "older" artist and the more I do the more I feel sorry for them to be stuck in this.

@@metalandrockzoneDon’t forget that even classical music died at the middle of the 20th century. Prokofiev was the last classical composer… The same will happen to metal music.

It is too long I think, if it would have been 8-9 songs it would have been a better punch somehow. Urne are awesome, saw them 2 times last year and great both times.

Kerry seems to be a butt-hurt by Slayer not playing anymore so he decided to make a Slayer-esque band. Like you said, Kerry was always the 2nd guitar to me and Lombardo was the better drummer.

yes but also in some way it might be unfair to expect him to bring some revolutionary new thing. if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck it is most likely a duck. Thanks for watching

@@metalandrockzonewe have hundreds of other bands that did way better solos . there is no reason to listen to kks garbage music . Haneman was Slayer not this clown that yoyo’d his way into the scene manipulating everyone . I am pretty sure that he never liked metal music . Everything he did was for attention and money . He has no friends in the scene and none of his ex bandmates liked him .
