This was made back in the summer, but for the record, I am not affiliated with Lays or getting paid to do these videos/promote their products =) I just like to eat their chips!
I think these flavours may be avaliable in parts of the U.S.? Lays also makes random flavours like hickory smoked bacon...
Canadian, eh: a mini series of random videos that highlight things that are uniquely Canadian, or things that cannot be found below the border.

My friend gets these chips from her cousins who live in Canada, and I love them!! But a lot of people in our class thinks they're gross! It doesn't make sense since they all put ketchup on their fries, but whatever..more for us!

I live in Maine and about two years ago they sold Lays Brand Spicy Ketchup chips. I REALLY WANT THEM TO SELL THOSE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there are several other companies that sell dill pickle chips in the US, and they're really good. (if you like pickles and potato chips)

These are my favorite chips. When I drove through Canada I tried them and wondered why they are not in the states.

There's a newer Canadian brand called Herr's that actually licensed their Ketchup flavour from Heinz and to date, theirs are the best tasting Ketchup chips out there, but they don't have the marketing power of Hostess and Lays, whose chips are fin enough, but they're just not the same once you tried these. Not in too many stores, but they're out there.

When I went to Canada over the summer with my choir a BUNCH of my friends fell in love with ketchup chips like they brought a bunch home with them in their suitcases.

I am from northern Virginia and a chip maker from that area, Route 11 Chips, makes a Dill pickle chip. They have been available for years.

My fiance's family live in the states and always ask her and her family to bring ketchup chips when we come down to visit.. One time, my fiance's father was crossing the border with quite a few bags, the customs agent asked him if he is bringing over any food, he said one word,"Chips", then the customs agent asked to look in his trunk to discover a trunk full of ketchup chips... the shocked look on the agent's face at the sheer volume of ketchup chip bags was priceless.

dill pickle chips are found a lot in the southern. the ketchup chips are usually founds in like alternative lol stores. we don't have the lay's brand dill chips in my neighborhood.

I'm so envious of Canadians. Ketchup Chips are one of my favorite foods in the world, but here in Atlanta it takes a miracle to find them. I'm originally from Europe and there we have Ruffles Ketchup chips and they're heaven. Sad that Americans don't like them :(.

When I was a kid, these flavours weren't around. When they first came out I thought it would be temporary, but I guess not. It's been at least a decade now. I prefer local brands to Lays though. Humpty Dumpty isn't bad.

The US is a big country.Ketchup chips are somewhere.In New York City you can buy anything.So you can probably get them there.

tough to get kethcup chips south of New Hampshire. moved from NFLD in '84 and have missed both those flavors since. When I was the Hostess still made them. I remember roast chicken flavor too.

I don't think the Ketchup chips is specifically canadian though. Lay's is a global company they released those chips in many different countries.

lay's ketchup chips are SO SO good. i got addicted when i used to have a friend in canada that would send them to me. people think it sounds gross but it isnt at all!! once in a while other brands in the US have ketchup flavored ones but theyre not as good as lays! I'm pretty sure the US does have the dill flavor ones still though. i wish so bad i could buy ketchup chips haha!

Canada has :Classic, Bar.B.Q, Salt & Vinegar, Wavy Original, Dill Pickle, Smokey Bacon, Sea Salt & Pepper, Sour Cream & Onion, Roast Chicken, Lightly Salted, Curry, Ketchup, Poutine, Pizza, Salsa, Wasabi, Curry and Ginger, and Masala. Cheddar & Sour Cream and BBQ Rib. Additionally, Fries & Gravy and Old Fashioned Bar.B.Q--although some listed I've never had or seen

We have had dill pickle chips in Minnesota since i can remember, you have to fight people for it in the store usually and the staff have been known to hide boxes of it in the back rooms lol

They look interesting. It's funny that these have not made their way to the UK, considering we eat all kinds of crisps, prawn cocktail for example. Lay's products are distributed by Walkers in the UK and the brand label looks the same. Both brands are owned by PepsiCo! (You can tell I've been on Wikipedia, can't you...) haha!

I'm Canadian and I've been to America 6 times and I've never noticed they never had ketchup and dill pickle chips. haha. I guess that explains my observation skills :)

I moved to the US recently and I really really miss Ketchup and Dill Pickle chips. I can't seem to find Salt and Vinigar down here in Southern Cali for the life of me either! Oh how I miss Canada.

Actually they still sell Dill pickle in Maine. Ketchup chips are my fav but they are hard to find now adays. When I was little they were sold every where, but i guess that's because Maine is so close to Canada.

i live in england, the company is called walkers over here instead of lays but its the same people lol and we had ketchup crisps as a limited edition a few years ago and they wernt red they were just normal colour

ive had the pringles ketchup chips and the Herr's ketchup chips, and i live in Texas. Ive never seen them in stores but my friend was shopping one day and he saw a "Limited time offer" of both and grabbed the last packs on the shelf. They were so good!!!

@hilby Sorry to say this but Maine(part of the USA)has Ketchup and "all dressed" chips. Herr's has Ketchup flavor and pickle flavor, and Humpty Dumpty has ketchup flavor and "all dressed" flavor. Herr's actually sells their chips all across the USA so ketchup chips and pickle chips are no longer a "Canadian thing".

We have pickle chips in Texas, but no ketchup chips. A rather wealthy friend of mine that was born in Canada had ketchup chips mailed to his house.

Being from Canada I have loved ketchup chips all my life. And dill pickle and salt and vinegar. But I find with all three of these flavours that they turn my tongue into a dried up prune. So much that the next day when you wake up, your tongue still feels funny. Like a bad taste.

Have you ever had potato chips and dipped them in catchup? That's probably what the catchup chips fast like, except with powdery stuff on it instead.

Dude, it was the Candy bars that kept us going over the border into Canada when we were kids. Way way better than ours. aero bar,....Mckintosh toffee....I forgot the rest In my Laws of First Things To Do: WHEN FIRST: - getting to California, go to ' In and Out Burger' WHEN FIRST: getting to Canada, get the candy bars.

One time I went to Canada and I tried ketchup flavored potato chips. I really liked them. Fortunately, a company began selling ketchup flavored chips at Walmart, but they only show up on occasion. When I see them I grab a couple of bags.

cool fact... companies spend more time.. trying to get the best "crunching noise" they can out of the chip... this way you are more likely to buy that certain chip by hearing the crunching noice
