We had the same problem with our keurig. We were going to get a new one but decided to try to fix it first and watched your video. It worked!!! We are so glad it's working now. There's no need to get a new one....we've had ours for 10 years now!
I just had a problem that none of the videos helped fix. (watched about 10 of them) I did all the tips -- even took some of the water lines apart and cleaned them. Then I took a ball/bicycle pump -- put it on the water value at bottom of reservoir and pumped a few times. Now it works!
thank you for the video, I have a Duo, the cups will not fill completely at times, the carafe fills fine, they did a great job o hiding the fasteners on this unit
Use a small piece of painters tape on small screws at the driver tip to hold them for one handed positioning. You can also use tape on a hex head screw or bolt to allow a compression fit into a socket. Again, for blind or non-magnetic installs.
Thanks, after many descaling and trying other tips, I was afraid I had a bigger issue until I found this issue. I took off the check valve, it looked crusty inside. I blew through it and it seemed sticky. So I soaked it in vinegar overnight, reinstalled the valve and it works perfect. Thank You!
You mean the K cup side? Check the needle where it pierces the k cup it may be plugged. Use a paper clip to clear the needle. This is a different Keurig machine but I show how to clean the needle. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FuBThlwihPk.html
I have the 2018 Keurig model K- compact. I am currently wondering if there is a problem with the water pumping mechanism? Not all the water put into it comes out! I put in 28 ounces of water, and only 20 ounces come out before the "add water" light comes on! Where does the rest of the water go? Is it trapped inside the machine somewhere? I just got this machine, I hope it's not defective. Ideas?
I can tell there is water trapped inside the machine. You can hear it sloshing when I puck up the machine and move it around. Also, some of the trapped water will dribble out of the K- cup area. So disappointed!
@@carolgarrett1786 Carol I would return the Keurig if its under warranty. Sounds like the check valve is not working. You may want to try and use a turkey baster to force air thru the bottom of the reservoir where the water enters the machine you may have an air lock.
How hard do you have to blow through it to get air to come out? I seem to need a bit of force to get air through my check valve which I think is causing water to come back through the overflow drain into the tank...
I just picked up that same model at a thrift shop it had the same problem nice video thanks do you know what model is that keurig just can't find a label with the model number
I've run descaling solution through. It will work for a short while, but gets backed up again fairly quickly. I'm going to try soaking the check valve in vinegar overnight. See if that gives me more than month of use.
So, where exactly IS the check valve? I've tried watching these videos on my phone, but it's so dark and I can't make out what parts they are talking about.
@@carolgarrett1786 The big, white bulbous thing that's removed in the video above contains the check valve. You can see the round blue o-ring gasket inside it. That o-ring is what seems to get clogged. Soaking the whole piece in vinegar, overnight, helps unclog it.
A much easier approach that doesn't involve taking the unit apart is to take the unit to a gas station and use compressed air at the water intake to blow out all of the coffee crud. You may need to put your finger over the overflow. Quick and easy. Nothing wrong with first using a paperclip or pipe cleaner to try to clear the obstruction but often this is merely a temporary fix.
Where would one push the air into? I tried compressed air into the overflow, and it'll push water out through the K-Cup side, like normal. Don't want to do that for every cup though...
You don't have to remove the handle. I've soaked mine in vinegar for 24 hours and it still sticks again after a couple of weeks. Trying to find a new replacement check valve.
