Kevin Durant has played 15 masterful INDIVIDUAL seasons, but he is going on superteam number 3 in his career--which is more rings than he's actually won. It begs the question of if KD is possibly the biggest loser in NBA history.
"I'm Kevin Durant. You know who I am" 🙄. Only time he ever said that was when he was on a super duper team and was the heavy favorite. Really disliked that convenient swagger.
you cant recreate the warriors tho. a team with chemistry built through draft. a well oiled machine where KD just rode like the bus rider he is. whenever he had to drive that bus he crashed and failed.
@@MeloRiley-gb5pzhe lost a 3 to 1 lead. Then joins that team that beat him. That team had a record 73 wins. You can't defend him. You simply have nothing. Nothing at all
I love KD's game, you hitting things most sports commentators don't talk about but all fans see. It is greatly understated the back seat Curry took to accommodate KD and let him shine. Curry doing that even took away from his own legacy, stats and finals MVP'S all for KD to still be unhappy.
Skap, your recent rise to prominence in the NBA RU-vid scene has been incredible to see. Each video is engaging and informative with splashes of humor added through your narration and editing. Keep up the generational work my man 💯
We can't just be blinded by their achievements & highlights and then overlook their mistakes over the course of their careers like its nothing. Though KD is & will always be my number one favorite NBA player, he's done some underwhelming & blundering mistakes and cowardly moves
Its just nice seeing unbiased NBA fans that can see and tell it like it is even when it isn’t what they personally like. Everytime you see one its a breath of fresh air
Love to hear objectivity in fans. And quite frankly I really like Durant myself. At one point in time I would have referred to him as my favorite player in the game. But with his talent and skill set coupled with the supporting casts he had, it’s shocking he only has 2 rings.
Only difference is the players this guy hates ignores or glosses over the achievements while throwing shade at his least favorite players while finding a way to bring up Jordan and Kobe and slamming LeBron and giving credit to everyone else. Where's the objectivity you speak of? It happens every video. I'm no fan of LeBron but my God the hate is unreal
IT'S NOT!! He's a one sided diva who thinks offense rules everything and whose momma is the real MVP. Team "Turn up and hoop cos super team AAU squad" attitude is as bad as LeBron's (as you've demonstrated in other videos). Can anyone name ONE ARE OF IMPROVEMENT since KD joined the NBA?? Or we still saying "He can pull up from THIRTY"?

this narrative that the superteam precedent starts with lebron is just wrong. Plus lebron didnt join the kg/pierce/allen celtics, so you can't really compare their decisions 🤷
@@alc5742 I disagree the Celtics were a super team. All 3 of those players were in their 30s and all had played over a decade in the league. None of them were all nba first or second team and none of them finished top 5 in mvp voting the year prior to the team up. Lebron and Wade were both first team all nba the two years prior to teaming up and finished top 5 in mvp both those years.
I mean, based on accolades and such, it's already close. And both Jokic and Giannis are under 30. So, yea. They are both going to cruise by Durant from a historical perspective.
@@skap_attackAnd he is right because he won a Championship on his own putting 50 on the final game of the finals and all those blocks! Well if KD and this team doesn't get the job done this season he'll definitely be a choke artist for real Curry won with a shell of himself in Klay Thompson and no other serious All Star and it will prove what I've been saying "KD should have never left the Warriors".
I’m a gsw fan and it annoys when folks say curry let kd shine lmao were talking about and mvp 4xscoring champ curry is a point guard of course he’s SUPPOSED to pass the ball to KD . This was a superb KD breakdown 💯 Touched on every important detail and only the important details of his career. Very healthy mix of respect and criticism.
Everybody knows Kevin Durant cannot win a ring without Stephen Curry 🔥🔥🔥🔥 and the Golden State Warriors💯💯💯💯 And now with retrospective and time behind us it's even clear to see that Stephen Curry was the better player on that team not Kevin Durant when they were both on the Warriors 😆😂🤣🤣🤣😏😏😏
@@melorileytv3408 it don't change the facts that Stephen Curry has one NBA championships before Kevin Durant came to the team with Kevin Durant to show that he's can share the ball and after Kevin Durant left Stephen Curry and the Warriors still won rings and championships consistently not consecutively but consistently.
Durant has an MVP, 2X Champion, 2X Finals MVP. Just off the eyeball test alone anyone who knows or plays ball can see he is an unbelievable offensive force with tons of versatility and underrated defense. He has had a lot of unfortunate injuries and bad luck with teammates getting injured at the worst possible times. When Lebron won his titles, he always had a fully healthy roster, when it was anything less than fully healthy they wouldn’t win
Ex: Durant broken foot missed whole season on thunder, Westbrook injury in KDs MVP season, Harden let go, Durant Achilles injury in Finals, Kyrie and Harden getting injured against the Bucks vs Nets, Durant carrying by himself barely having a toe on the line for a series ending shot. Kyrie COVID drama suspension, Harden leaving AGAIN. Etc… point is compared to a more fortunate player like Lebron who has never dealt with multiple potential career ending injuries, it’s difficult to only look at KDs accolades and form a valid opinion on how great he is
@@brandoncalero6072 This is true, but no one wants to admit how much luck plays in winning a ring. People value Kahwi winning the luckiest ring ever going up against a team missing their best and 3rd best player in the finals over KD winning back to back with the Warriors. At the end of the day, neither luck nor skill are enough to win a ring. You need both.
@@donyewhite I'll agree on Warriors 2015. Durant being out along side both of LeBron's co-stars probably puts this one at number 1. For the 2021 Bucks, did they get much luck outside of the Nets series? Don't get me wrong, with how close the Nets series was despite injuries and KD being and inch too close, it's still another case of proving that luck is pretty much required to win a ring. I might be blanking on something obvious, but Kawhi getting a crazy lucky bounce shot into a facing a finals team that lost 2 of their 4 superstars after clearing out all of the other competition in the west seems luckier to me. At least Giannis had to go through KD.
@@jaketerpening3284 bro the raptors beat a 60 win bucks team an the ecf. Also the reason why the bucks ring is luckier is because everyone got hurt. Nuggets, warriors, clippers, nets, and lakers. 6:17 -bro, along with the superb information the antics in the comedic clips kill me the part where Steph was shaking his ass right after you said he gonna shoot his shot perfect timing nd editing 😂
To be fair to Durant he did have to play with James Harden the biggest choke artist of all time. He's like a lot of great offensive players. All flash and no grit. Never payed with a decent defensive team or played good defense.
This is a GREAT point. Bron teamed up with Wade who ALREADY won a ring. Same way Kd did with Steph. However, Harden is a HUGE defensive liability so if he's not hitting shots, he's a net loss. If they replaced Harden with Spencer Dinwiddie or something I think they could've beaten the Heat that Finals.
I believe KD’s time in Golden State proves that he’s not capable of being a team leader. It might be because of his mentality. There’s a reason why he replies to all of his twitter haters. A real leader would ignore all of the hate and just focus on winning.
Dude stole Book’s team, lost to a complete non-superteam, and feels the need to make another superteam to win again. His rings mean less and less as time goes on
As a warrior fan from 1997 when sprewell chocked out PJ carlisimo. KD is an amazing tallent. Hes just very sensitive. Durring 2019 alot of the media and fans urged him to try and the worst happened. He might of had alot of anger that flashes of everything being over might be because he joined the warriors when that happened in 2019. not to mention good old draymond stirring the pot but thats just what he does as seen in later years. Hes an amazing talent just alittle sensitive and sadly you become a meme when you act like a baby sorry KD bro best of luck
“Just his third ring” that’s crazy to say 😂 lot of all time greats never even had one ring. Charles Barkley would probably love one. Guys like MJ, Tim Duncan, etc are not the standard they are anomalies.
Lebron is scared of KD Fun Fact nobody mentions regarding Lebron - How can lebron be the "GOAT" if the players at his position won the NBA Finals MVP off of him ? Kevin Durrant SF - twice Kawhi Leonard SF - once
My son was 2nd team all conference his sophomore year and 1st team his junior year. He was one of only two non-seniors to get 1st team. After his junior season, the best team in the conference wanted him to switch schools and join them. We stayed put out of loyalty and we didn't want to ride a super team. Then in his senior season, the coach split up the players in practices into two teams. My son on one and the next two best players on the other. You could tell the other two were getting used to playing with each other as they would often pass to each other in games but not my son. Despite having a superior FG %, the other two would always take more shots. My son's team lost in the title game to the other team. My son was only 2nd team all-conference while his two teammates got 1st team for the first time. We wanted to be loyal but got stabbed in the back. This is why I believe Durant made the right move going to Golden State. It's easy for a team and teammates to start taking you for granted. If you have a top team that wants you, don't pass up the opportunity.
@@tromboneman4517 he thought it would be good for the team to scrimmage more. He just made the mistake of trying to even the teams and never switching them up. I was wondering why they weren't passing to my son more and didn't find out what they were doing in practice until about midseason.
@@dazgordon-hill2660 If I switched my son to the other team, people probably would have called that "weak". Now I wish I had. I learned not to care about what others think but to do what's best for myself and my family. It appears Durant already knows that.
Would that work? To acquire they would have to give up most of their shooting depth like Robinson, Vincent and their main player Tyler as well along with some picks.
@@redeyexxx1841 No absolutely could not and would not happen. Durant is locked in contract, for, I think two more years. Also, they are all in with this Beal acquisition. Miami is currently focusing on Dame Lillard and getting him out of Portland.
Kevin Durant going to the Warriors is in response to LeBron forming Superteams wherever he went. But Durant didn't manage to get to 10 NBA FINALs and Durant also did not have a perfect record in those FINALs series. So LeBron ranks above Durant but Jordan definitely ranks above these 2 NBA greats. It just shows how difficult it is to go undefeated in the NBA FINALs.
Well, LeBron was going through a historically weak east, whereas Durant was in the stacked West. LeBron is probably better than Durant, but using simple metrics like finals appearances does not tell the whole story.
waiting on the comments asking "wheres the hate for jimmy butler?" as if jimmy's performance in this years finals is in any way comparable to KD's career.
While he is arguably the most talented player ever, and I REALLY enjoy watching him play, I cannot disagree with that comment. It is also mind boggling to me how he doesn't have at least 8 scoring titles. four in his first six years by the age of 25.
@@skap_attack And I agree with your comment. That's what makes it so disappointing. Hey if I criticize LeBron for how he operates by trying to play with the best players instead of against them, then I have to go at KD as well. If I don't, my criticism of LeBron or any other super team ring chaser is meaningless
@@MindoftheNorthStar exactly. Ultimately you have to stay consistent. It was the same for me with Russell Westbrook. I respected the hell out of him staying in okc. Then he threw it all away to team up with LeBum in La. I’m sure Dame is going to sell out soon too.
I think in order to be a great champion, not just a great player, one needs more than talent and athleticism. It takes a work ethic that seeks not just to outcompete your competition but outcompete yourself. That work ethic takes place on the court during the entire game with hustle, during practice, lifting weights, etc. Jordan and Kobe were great champions because they always found a way to contribute to win the game. If they were having an off night shooting, they made damn sure they were making big plays on defense or facilitating others on offense. And when the game was on the line, they knew a big defensive play could win the game just as much as a winning shot. Work hard all the time. Play hard every play during the game on all sides of the ball. And have the basketball IQ to know when to seize on an opening to make a big play. That's what champions do.
@skap_attack thinking about this more...it's also more than work ethic. Olympians train constantly. All the skill preparation must still be executed when it counts. That is where it has to elevate to a mental necessity to succeed. I think a lot of people work hard. They aren't lazy. But succeeding isn't EVERYTHING to them, so they don't have the same inextinguishable fire. They find ways to accept their shortcomings and get on with life. This is actually a healthy, stable, well-adjusted approach to life. It is also why the true greats in their fields are usually a bit maladjusted. That's what it takes to get to the very top of achievement in a given specialty. I don't mean this as an insult. It's just the phenomenon, the difference at the top versus close to the top.
NOOO.. not KD. No Skap. I got love for KD. But you right. KD should have stayed with GSW, not just cause am a GSW fan, but it was a perfect fit. A real superteam is about scheme and fit, not just throwing together scorers and stars. Like you said before they leveled the playing field against the Cavs, 3 superstar team vs 3 superstar team. Now he just chasing a ring.
The way that this kid managed his career as a professional athlete is a cautionary tale for superstars in the league. He's very short on the respect department and past his prime.
@@soloistdeve obviously I think his assists would go down as well as his scoring. Scoring possibly substantially because he can’t score without the ball. I just don’t think he would even survive in an offense like the triangle.

I agree. I think underachiever is a better title for him. Edit: however, I do have to agree that unless he wins a ring without Curry, that will play against him.
Westbrook this, Westbrook that, this isn't about Westbrook, this is about Kevin Durant failing time and time again without GSW. Not So FUN FACT: Outside GSW. KD made deep playoff runs with OKC with Westbrook being his clear cut 1b to KD's 1a. Since then KD played with Harden, Irving, CP3, Ayton, and Dbook. And the result is just making the 2nd round. If KD wasn't such a choker he could've had a title outside GSW. But it's proven time and time again, he is not as great as his meatriders
While I absolutely HATE the Durant Warriors team up in a vacuum, I at least understand it because of LeBron building two super teams at that point. I hate superteams, but I was actually enjoying that one at the time. LeBron destroys the competitive balance of the NBA to steal rings by creating a superteam...only to be crushed by a better superteam. The irony was not lost on me. Had Durant won a title in OKC, or won one in Brooklyn, I think ultimately I would look at him differently. There is a very real chance, those two superteam steal jobs are going to be his ONLY titles in a career that will near 20 years. Not good for his legacy.

I totally agree. He has 2 rings and those two rings were as easy and unimpressive as any ring we’ve ever seen in nba history. He’s undeniably underachieved.
Once KD joined the Warriors, his legacy was tarnished forever. Then he leaves the Warriors after they lose to the Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals (preceded by Durant getting handed his two championships and back-to-back Finals MVPs) and become dethroned as the two-time defending world champions, and heads to the Nets in hopes of leading them to greatness. He comes the closest to doing so in the seven-game 2021 Eastern Conference Finals series against the eventual NBA World Champion Milwaukee Bucks. But when 2022 proved embarrassing with a first round playoff sweep against the eventual Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics, KD demands a trade that summer and doesn't get his wish until midway through the 2022-2023 regular season. Phoenix is his last chance. If he is unable to lead the Suns to the Finals or even Western Conference Finals in 2024, then his career is over. He'll be 36 years old and having played in the NBA for 17 years by that time anyway. Unless Phoenix were to renew his contract after next season, it's doubtful that any other team will take him. But we'll have to see what happens in the near future!
KD's bag is overrated he never had a good handle and always gets exposed for it in the playoffs, just Double team KD and he will make a poor pass and turn it over. Luka and Kobe are the 2 players with the deepest bag in NBA history for player 6'5 or 6'5 +
He is the most overrated player of all time. Durant would be ringless if he hadn't jumped on the Warriors superteam bandwagon. The same team he chocked a 3-1 lead to the prior season. Don't ever compare him to Lebron who lived up to the hype and became arguably the greatest player ever
