They lack the cones in their eyes to see the color red. Thus, anything containing that as part of its color makeup (and its opposites across the color wheel) are shifted. Reds and oranges, along with most greens, appear yellow. Purples, pinks, and fuchsias appear blue. Blues and yellows remain unchanged. The equivalent in human vision in called protanopia (or Daltonism). You can actually download AR apps for the phone that will leverage the camera to let you see what a dog does in real time. If you've ever wondered why your dog struggles to see those red-orange balls, it's because they're almost the same yellow as grass to their eyes.

So the joke still technically works because since dogs have trouble with shades of red and green, they still would have ran the light and probably saw it as gray. Sorry, but you just got Jackal’d

I don't think they expect to be seen as irrational and ill-prepared. I think they (Gaetz, more specifically) expect to be seen as staunch defenders of the American people. In their mindset, everything, anything related to the Bidens is criminal, and all Democrats are evil. Therefore, a Speaker willing to let pass anything Democrat-related (like keeping a Democrat government open), is damming. In their mindset, chaos is better than a functioning Democrat government. If you care to read comments under Fox videos, you'll see there's a clear tendency among the Trumpist base towards demonizing Democrats, and seeing every Republican willing to do bipartisan work as a traitor to the country. Because they believe they alone are the real patriots and Democrats are like a crime cartel on power via fraudulent elections. I know, it's insane, but, how many bipartisan efforts have you seen lately? Why is it that the last remaining Republicans who aren't Trumpists are quitting or being ousted in elections? There's not a Republican party anymore. There's a Trumpist party.
