Hey man I have a 2018 dodge charger and the keyless entry won’t work on both doors when the key is in my pocket but if I take it out and try sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t, I physically need to press lock and unlock but it’s not the battery bc I can start my car fine, I need help plz!!
He is giving you the solution right here in the video. Your problem are the passive entry system low frequency antennas. Their job is to send a signal to the key fob in your pocket, the fob responds by transmitting his identification code and the computer sends the signal to open the doors and allow ignition and start. When the antennas stop working means that now you have to make fob transmit its id code manually by pressing the unlock button.
my 2012 charger 5.7L dont want to start with the key fob does lock and unlock does detect it inside but key fob doesn't turn in on. Why? Could be because it was old cop?
My 2015 RT stopped detecting the fob. Doors wont lock/unlock with the fob, and I have to hold it up against the starter button to turn the engine on. Replaced batteries in both fobs, still nothing.. think its the lf antenna? Connections looked good when i checked it.. dont know if these things degrade or go bad over time.. your thoughts? Thanks for the vid.. really helped me narrow down the issue.. now just have so solve it.. 😁
It detects the key fob in the vehicle however if I’m standing outside of it with the key I can’t get in unless I hit unlock button on the key any thought?
Yes. There are other detectors besides the one in the trunk. I'm just not sure if the one you need to check is in a door, or under the. Front of the center console.
From having my issue. I researched the location of the sensors and tested them all, since there was no video out there to address my specific issue. So now the next person can find what I was looking for.
