My issue wasn't the broken plastic, it was the microswitch wasn't being made. I bent the arm so it would be made every time. Thanks for the info on how to take it all apart though. It still helped.
Thanks for the help. The old lady's 07 Optima did this. I cut the broke edge off with a hot razor blade. I think the purpose of that entire thin top piece is to cushion the shifter. Now if only there was an easy way to disable the annoying warning chime...

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate you taking the time to post this. So I really hate to critique this but please work on your camera techniques. Please try to keep your camera still and move slowly and use wide angle instead of zoom when you are moving the camera shot. Thanks for the great information.
