I assume affected parties have written the complaints. I don't know much about the judicial counsel, but they're probably as slow and reluctant as bar associations. This will still cause her problems.
@@kaysumpter2447 Moscow Mitch is responsible for her and many more like her. The Federalist Society was picking their judges and he was pushing them through the senate confirmations.
she's just plain stupid, she just opens herself up for the near future which is going to be sad for her. But, I do feel somewhat OK about it, since she's done for, as her future is over. Her days as a judge are basically over.
Only thing about lying then , I quote” going back and telling the truth “ in law cases is you become unreliable.Cross going to eat your lunch and for good cause.
She must be removed, stripped of her judgeship, and lose her license to practice law; and charged with crimes for how she has illegally protected and harbored known criminal Trump.
It was allowed in the Enron case , the workers of the Oil company because they couldn’t afford lawyers for charges against them, but yeah huge conflict of interest
Look up the name Abe Fortas, he sat on the SCOTUS. Was forced to resigned. The only other one who resigned was Justice Goldberg, he left to become our UN ambassador.
@@imjustmeTBD Federal judges cannot be removed for “incompetence”; they would still have to be impeached by the House, and tried by the Senate. Article III.
It appears Cannon doesn't know enough to be embarrassed regarding her missteps in this case so far. I was hopeful when she did not recuse herself earlier that she would see this as an opportunity to establish a reputation as fair and unbiased going forward. Oh well....
@@romulus_ It's beyond shamelessness and beyond not knowing she's out of her depth (Dunning-Kruger). It's an arrogance and lack of respect for the attorneys and litigants appearing before her. Her arrogance prevents her from even acknowledging the possibility that she could ever be objectively wrong. "Judicial temperament" is more than a catchphrase, it's a real quality of character. Cannon is the example of what happens when someone without "judicial temperament" is put on the bench.
@@chuckm.9744 she is not experienced enough to take on the trial. and I agree, she is acting in a way that is both puzzling and arrogant when it comes to special treatment for trump. and she acts like she is beyond reproach -- all of that combined is the shameless part. on the other hand, if I were in her shoes and a case of this magnitude fell in my lap, would I pass on the opportunity to act as judge in one of the biggest suits in american history? is there a process to pass it to someone else and save face? there may not be. someone else will have to clue me in on that.
I read she had only two real cases all others not so big. She is unqualified to judge ghis high caliber case. There would be bias zs well zs 45 put her in..
It's America. Money is the ultimate arbiter of what can happen versus what 'should' happen. Wish it were not so, but it is so. Your nation's history bears this out in spades.
@@imjustmeTBDSCOTUS is against prior restraint. An indicted person has not been found guilty of a crime and cannot be punished based upon your feelings.
The American Bar Association said that Aileen Cannon (not related) wasn't qualified when her name was presented. Moscow Mitch couldn't wait to get her approved and on the bench. Everything she does just proves how unqualified she truly is. She should resign, after thanking Drump for the honor, and go to law school.
Maybe this judge wants to be removed 2 reasons, she's a Trump loyalist and really does not want to put him in jail in a case that's close to a slam dunk and she's a very inexperienced judge in one of the biggest cases in USA history and is clearly out of her depth.
Cannon's interest in the two grand juries was sparked by an interview w Jim Trusty (trump's million dollar baby) on FOX. It was aired on Sunday evening and she repeated his words verbatim on Monday morning from the bench. I was giving her a chance, but she can't stop acting as a criminal defense attorney for trump. I do not see how she can continue. VOTE BLUE 🔷️ Thanks Harry.
New subscriber here! I’m a Canadian watching all of this with interest. Harry - I deeply appreciate and enjoy your “play by play” explanations of the greatest legal drama of our time.
If you tell one lie, it leads to another; So you lie and lie, and then keep on tryin'; every lie you tell will be falsifyin'; and you'll be neglected, rejected, disliked, and you should.
The Dishonorable Aileen Cannon has no business on the federal bench. She is an embarrassment to the legal profession and if she would have just recused herself from the very beginning, the world would not know of her incompetence and prejudice. Talk about doubling down. She should be gone.
Clarence Thomas himself literally is head of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. That is who will sit in Judgement of Cannon. The one who advised her to do all this in the first place. Not by himself, but you can definitely believe he will put his thumb on the scales.
When Cannon was assigned to this case I was at first worried. Especially when Smith didn't object to her after her performance earlier. But now I think he may have been hoping to get her for that case, as she's has become a great asset to the DOJ's case.
Nope. She has TREMENDOUS POWER over who sits as Jurors. She can force things and get Trump Loyalists to sit and its automatic hung jury. She is BAAAAD for this case.
@@prospero11 Please don't misunderstand me. She will not end up trying this case, if this case does come to trial. For now, her actions and Jack Smith's measured and respectful response takes the wind out of the argument that justice is tilted against Trump. He got a judge that loves him, Jack Smith didn't challenge her at the outset, even though she had been overtly sympathetic to him when he tried to challenge the warranted search. That matter had the district court overrule her, and yet Smith respected her court and proceeded lawfully. Now she is again putting her hand on the scales of justice, and she will lose that fight. She may just dismiss the case, forcing the DOJ to refile, who knows. When (and if) this case comes to trial, she won't be on the bench. I include "if" because Smith has him dead to rights in DC, and Willis has him dead to rights in Georgia. He may not make it to that trial. I can't see Trump getting in a courtroom as a criminal defendant. It would humiliate him too much. All these charges are doing is making him more and more angry, and focused on retribution. But, when he realized that he can't win the race for President, he'll try again to raise a revolt. When that doesn't work he will run away. He'll end up, maybe in Russia, and call it political exile. He will continue to try and instigate violence and plot for his triumphant return. It'll be up to the all of us to ensure he never gets a chance again. I'd like to see him in prison for life, but I am betting on him fleeing the country.
Thank you Harry. You explain things extremely well. More drama coming up in Cannon's courtroom is right. She is inept and unqualified and not impartial at best; I hope she gets booted out. Woodward should be in big trouble with his shenanigans too.
Thanks, Harry, Love the efficiency, the professionalism and dogged persistence of Jack Smith and his team! Like so many other viewers, I am way past fed up with Cannon and tired of hearing, repeatedly, that “this will be what it takes to have her removed”!!! And yet, she isn’t gone! 🤬🐅
Don’t give this witness a free ride, he lied to a grand jury. The sentence for lying in court vs what he was up against are vastly different, he’s getting a deal here, just don’t allow the deal to be scot-free.
If you cannot afford your own Counsel.. should have court appointment of Attorney! Not, where CONFLICTS where guy your indicted with is paying for you! Insanity!
Finally someone puts this particular revelation into context. All the other 'breaking news' things about this had headlines trying to make it seem like a new person and turned. Always count on Litman to help things make sense.
This went down in July. MSNBC'S Rachel Maddox and Lawrence O'Donnell did a great job on this story last night. No confusion since Harry himself was on the show last night.🔵🔵🇺🇲🔵🇺🇲
Note to defendants and unindicted conspirators; Any question that Smith or Willis may ask of you, they already know and can prove the real answer. Tell the truth or catch another charge.
Smith seems prepared to take on both Trump's attorneys and the judge in the judge's own court. He's going to drag her to the correct outcome with her kicking and screaming all the way.
She never will. She is auditioning for a spot on the Supreme Court. In so far as being a Trump and Federalist Society suck up, she is nailing this. And she has a lifetime appointment right now anyway so basically no one can touch her. She will just take the whole system down with her before she ever has to go.
Another outstanding, informative and time sensitive video Harry -thank you. Like many of your viewers, I'm just counting the hours till Judge Cannon hangs herself which I believe is now just a matter of days or weeks away. Jack Smith is strategically giving Cannon ample rope for her to hang herself. Smith is so smooth; and exhibits enormous self control. He's the James Bond of Special Counsel (the Shaun Connery Bond of course) always playing his hand so cool with no theatrics or ego ever exhibited. Had this Cannon situation been in the hands of a less skilled and seasoned prosecutor, the temptation to publicly decimate Cannon would have been too seductive to pass up, and potentially jeopardize her possible removal and flame the perception as a partisan motivated move by Special Counsel Jack Smith. Harry Litman is a talented legal observer. Indeed, he is one of cable television’s most insightful commentator’s regarding the former president’s failed coup. Citizen’s concerned about the future of our democracy would be well served to lend an ear to his podcasts as the Trump indictments move forward.
