GarageBand really needed to add this instrument. It gives me a good vibe to the orchestra while sounding likes bells you hear in a clock tower.

Are you sure they aren't in there? I have them in my version, but I also have Logic Pro installed, so maybe they are in there. The sound is called, "Tubular Bells," so search that. Download and reinstall the sound library. If that doesn't work, do a search for the sounds themselves. If you know anyone who has Logic Pro, they should be able to copy the sound for you.

02:38 Not for long, I wrote a concerto for the chimes. Also, as a composer, I have to say that all of my chime parts require a great deal of practice.

+Snakemasterepic . I was wondering, what other possibilities of sounds are there for the bells? For instances, playing on differents spots of the chimes, or with softer mallets? Maybe you could give some light on this, it could be very useful!

Yes but most musical compositions require the bass and snare drum to have a consistent drum beat, as well as timpani to comp along side the bass of an orchestra with a staccato appeal.

I had an idea for an instrument, so I started doing some research, and after about a half hour, I found the instrument that I had an idea for. I would do just about anything for this set of chimes. I would need four hammers though, because now I have another idea. (Yes, I'm going to research it. Doubt this idea exists though.)

Nothing can add the sound of the doomsday approaching like chimes. Just randomly noticed them in a game music concert and had to learn more x)

I'm confused now. I thought this instrument was called tubular bells (in German: Röhrenglocken). Chimes is what I know as the instrument that looks like a xylophone, but its leaves are made of metal instead of wood (Glockenspiel).

A percussionist in my band started to play the beginning of pirates of the Caribbean on the Tubes because it said "bells" on the score....she was mega embarrassed when i pointed out later in the score it said "chimes". I personally favour the Ghent percussion symbols as you dont have to learn 501 languages and its pretty much universal

The instrument you describe is crotales. What you see in the video is chimes (tubular bells).

Dam it I have two hammers that don't match where could I buy cheap hammers but good to use with majestic chimes (Prophonic Series Chimes)

Go on ebay and buy metal workers nylon mallets...they are identical to the "chime mallets" yet they cost over half the price, £29.99 for a chime mallet compared to £6.99 for a 40mm Nylon mallet. Rawhide mallets cost virtually the same and the best manufacturer is Thor.

Tansy Davies' Re-Greening has a couple of three-mallet chords (utilising the same pitches as Mahler's 9th symphony, as it was paired with that at its premiere) :)
