Cannabis agronomic science is advancing at a frenetic pace through the social construct of “hemp” in the United States. The dizzying array of data being generated by universities, private companies, and committed individuals have critical implications for our understanding of a crop with unrivaled plasticity. This presentation will delve into the revolutionary developments coming to farmers’ fields in 2022, made possible through the application of next generation genomic sequencing tools and traditional breeding techniques. The results offer a window into the trajectory of cannabis and suggest that the long-standing promise of this plant-food, fiber, medicine, and unknown unknowns-can be achieved via coherent socio ecological planning and creative breeding.

Science!! So happy to see that there are doctors and major scientists getting their hands dirty in the cannabis industry! Polyploids sound super interesting! Not so sure if or when they may start taking over the industry, but you got my attention! Awesome presentation that contained a wealth of data and information...thank you!

I have recently read that harvested glandular trichomes can be treated w/ mm (millimolar) 2, 4-D to produce embryo's! 2, 4-D does interfere w/ ploidy #. I think using trichomes from feminized autoflower plants would be a good plant to test this out. Fidelity. ;) I've also read that mm 2, 4-D increases the number of trichomes on plants!

Extensive clonning is particularly bad in the long run because it hinders the genetic diversity of the plant letting some latent viroids and geneteic anomalies to spread out before being detected.
