Having never heard of this man before, but seeing that he has harvested numerous P&Y bucks, i decided to listen to the podcast, and i am glad that I did. This man knows what he is talking about when it comes to bowhunting and harvesting deer. He was soot on about Silky Saws as well; they are expensive, but well worth the price. Great podcast Jake!
I enjoy all your content. I’m a bow only hunter and I live in Harlan Ky in the most southeastern corner of the state. It’s rough country here. I don’t use cameras and there’s zero ag. I try to hunt power line edge in the middle of nowhere. The problem is getting the buck out of the mountains. Only the strong survive in this rough terrain.
I’m from Knox in southeastern ky and Yelp it’s def a running joke. With our hunting group. Once killing a deer. That….now the work begins! Getting him out.
We all put in the work, If we could all be in the areas of large whitetails, certainly most of us would get a Boone & Crockett buck the first year or two and then it would be over hunted like in my area and the most anyone gets here are 3-4 year old bucks.
I’ve killed 146 5/8 scores at DIXIE DEER CLASSIC in Raleigh where I live and killed the buck at 13 yrs old first buck and to win biggest deer NC BY YOUTH was amazing and iv😢killed 5 other pope & young’s since but nothing compared to my first buck ! I hunt and killed all my trophy’s on my farm or family farm within a mile of my home and I now want to hunt public land around falls lake , butner , sharron Harris etc and see if there are some BOONE & CROCKETS on public hid because there’s only select few on private in wake county!
