Quite a shame yes. They gave us other means to avoid damage though, for the little I've seen from the 3. Maybe they realized it was way too strong 😂 for the game. Same way they stripped KH2 from KH1 aero defense spell and stop. And instead they gave us reflect, the master form double jump and more limits with invecibility.
@@bigjawline9235 but they decided to add stuff even more op, basically for free, at least reflect had a cost and the most you could use it as a combo was 4 times if you have double finisher, which doesn't let you be invincible as long as the attractions in kh3 (on a single cast, because you can also get multiple attractions before you use one, and while you're using it the timers on the others stop completely, and for reflect you see the video for why I added on a single cast for it) and doesn't do as much damage. Then there's grand magic that'll sometimes reward X mashing and again, does more damage than reflega ever did. Then there's team attacks that come up randomly that you're invincible during most of and can deal a lot of damage. At least they're all optional. TL;DR kh3 said "reflect's too OP, better add stuff that's basically refleza on steroids, and give it to the player on a silver platter."
Now you get to do the fun set up of hot keying potions that duel serve as ethers. That was how I beat data axel at lvl1. hidden dragon keyblade + full set of shadow archives equal practically unlimited mp during that fight as the mp rage stacks. Blizzard + reflect spam galore.

There are a lot of other videos that shows the reflect spam, but I also wanted to show that you can actually spam Limit Form's Sonic Blade since you MP regenerates everytime you take damage from the fire. You can also loop the first reaction command to avoid his first battle phase reset. It turns out to be really simple to beat him that way.
what is amazing is how simple the boss is compared to the secret bosses in kh3 with this kh2 boss u can expirement because u aren't forced to fight a certain way like how kh3 does it with the invincibility frames
@@pedroxruz6032 I dunno. I remember some of the Summons being kinda broken in KH2, mainly Chicken Little and Stitch, especially with the fact that like hitting an enemy lets the summon stay around longer, but then again they are summons, plus you can only use them if Donald and Goofy are alive.
Thought the fire will kill me so I never did this Reflega trick. And it’s a great shame that Reflega was removed from Kingdom Hearts III. Might make things a bit easier against the Real Organization XIII Data Battles and especially the Ultra Super Boss Yozora.
Do really seems way faster than this. In reality when I recorded this video in particular I was not aiming to anything specifically, like showimg a fast way to beat him or a way to cheese him at all. The reflect spam itself is nothing new. I just uploaded because I thought it was funny, seeing Axel repeat the same attack over and over against it. But I surprised myself when I saw that the fight didn't took even 2 minutes. However, by the time I didn't saw the reaction command loop on any other video I did watched. In all of them they completely did the 2 inputs to drop the fire wall. So I thought it would be a nice addition to show the reaction loop as well. It saves a considerable amount of seconds since you don't need to wait for the cutscene to end.
Sounds like cheating. But I do believe that the concept of most of those data battles are supposed to be taken as "puzzle solving" instead of direct battles. When you think of them like this then it becomes a lot easier to complete. It becomes just some steps of memorization and correct execution, which will take you just a few tries to be finally able to complete it. Of course this can also be true and carried on for every other game out there. But when it comes to games that pushes your limits with hard challenges, this way o thinking helps to keep the frustration and rage at bay.
FlintXtrider honestly tho, you’re right. Esp with the data battles it makes more sense to trick them like this (or final/wisdom form firaga spam) rather than trying to brute force it. Then again, even with filthy methods you still need to know when to execute it which makes it super fun. And so as Luxord says: “figured the rules out?”
That's what I meant. Once you figured out how to deal with the battles, the fights itself becomes easier. The "secret" for Xaldin's battle for instance is to abuse the "Learn" and "Jump" reactions commands while knowing which of his attacks to avoid. Then you can simple spam the commands and destroy him while even getting I-frames in the process, and if you know what you doing, pretty much defeated him before he enters his second phase. I'm nowhere a specialist in this game, but if you search, it is not so hard to find around there lots of videos or speed runners strats to cheese most of these fights pretty fast. In any difficulty or level.
Before kh videos on RU-vid became popular, I never used reflect cuz I didn’t think it was good and that I’d rather smack everything with mah Keys I was foolish

I also like to look flashy while playing most games of this genre. Reflect spam isn't anything new. I uploaded this mainly because it was somehow funny.
Does Ragnarok really stun locks him like that? I never tried it myself. If so, it might be way simpler to cheese him this way. But watching him throw his face into reflects several times with the same move looks more stupid though. I was really hoping he would stick to the same move for the entire fight when I first recorded this 😂.
Ah Reflega. The one magic so OP we'll probably never get it outside of scripted encounters because it's so broken you can cheese everything. The fact that MP recharges so fast in KH2 didn't help that fact (though it did make it more fun to use magic). If KH2 had the slow MP Regen of KH1 it would've been alot less broken but people would barely use magic outside of curaga or Thundaga
