I bought a Polestar 2 a month ago, and have loved driving it. I find it comfortable and quiet to drive. I have not had any problems with the software. It came loaded with the latest software update, 1.7, which I hear has made some very significant improvements to the car. I love the look of the car and the design of the interior. I agree with the other commenter who criticized the limited cupholder space. However there are so many other things that I love about the car that I can live with finding ways to store my coffee cup. It is a pleasure every time I take the car out for a drive. I look forward to doing some long trips in it. While the charging is slower than the Korean cars, I believe that with some careful planning, those issues can be resolved by making sure that you are charging at times (and in places) where you need to stop anyhow to get food, or do some shopping.

Whichever you choose, all three excellent. We have the Ioniq 5 first edition in the UK called the Project 45. Since September 1st. Teal green. Pale grey and teal interior. Fab. Performance is better than the suggested 5.2s to 60. Good luck with your choice

I recently bought a Polestar 2 Performance, but returned it (and ordered an EQS) because the software on it is really buggy. I lost LTE and GPS several times and I've experienced and seen others on forums experiencing problems with connectivity/Google Assistant too. Since the smart features are a large part of the car's functionality, it was very frustrating to say the least. I got 2 OTAs during my time with it and both messed up something or the other. It's a good car, fun to drive but the software is not ready for prime-time imho. The PP with Ohlins dampers are definitely stiffer at any level than the regular suspension so I wouldn't expect it to be any softer. Just my 2 cents, glad to answer any questions you may have.

Just ordered a Polestar 2 in Midnight, dual motor long range, plus and pilot packs (no performance pack), stock 19” wheels. Will also get the performance upgrade. Unfortunately will have to wait until April for delivery. The EV6 was a consideration, though the extra power and handling is a plus for me. Not worried about the differences in either range or efficiency. I currently own a Volvo S90 T8 which I am very happy with quality and performance wise but prefer the smaller hatchback design for practicality. Also my wife recently owned a VW R estate AWD which was great fun to drive and practical. The Polestar 2 should replace them both perfectly. The Nurburgring footage finally convinced me!

I just ordered the Ioniq 5, based on cabin space and boot space. I had my head set on ev6 but I found the backseat too cramped and dark. My family are me, my partner and three little kids. I also went with the nice panoramic roof, which the ev6 doesn't have. For you, maybe Polestar (Go Sweden!)? Those golden seatbelts are sexy.

Great video. IT really helped with our decision. We were in a similar situation trying to decide between these exact 3 cars. We test drove both the Ioniq 5 and Polestar 2 three times each. Never got a chance to test drive the EV6. We ultimately decided on the Polestar 2 for a few reasons: 1. The buying experience was soooo much better with Polestar. The Hyundai dealer markups and forced add ons really wore us out. 2. The Polestar 2 just felt much higher quality. I love the cockpit feel and driving/handling better overall 3. The size of the Ioniq 5 was a tad too big for our needs. 4. We love the Polestar brands' environmental ethos. 5. We love the mysteriousness and uniqueness of the Polestar. Our new Polestar 2 is set to arrive in March 2022!

I've had a rented Polestar for 10 days while my XC60 is in for body work (basketball hoop 1, hood 0). It's been a blast to drive. It's smaller in person than in the pics. It feels and drives like a sports car. It feels very grounded, tracks great, and is scary fast. I love the front display - a 3D map whether you have google maps on or off. I also love the location of the stereo knob - horizontal just in front of the little shifter, where my hand ends up anyway. The lcd is sized right and is easy enough to navigate. I'm 6' and I find the driving position perfect and very comfortable. I love the feel of the steering wheel. I was excited about 1 pedal driving, but find I prefer the old fashioned way. So much to like! What I don't like: The one I'm driving has the 20" wheels - every pothole is met with a serious kerplunk - I would go for all season tires, which would be a better match for Colorado anyway. The key fob is the worst - big and all black with little buttons on the side - unless I have my readers on I have a tough time seeing which button is which, and since it is just a rectangle it's hard to memorize locations of the buttons without any visual aid. It's a hatchback in words only - it's pretty tight in the trunk if you need to haul anything. Rear visibility isn't great, I wish (like my XC60) there was a button to lower the back headrests when not in use, which block a lot of the view. But my biggest negative by far is the glass roof that can't be covered, which isn't unique to this car. Why do car designers think that having the sun beating down on you without an option to hide it is a desirable thing? There's only 4 inches or so of glass is in front of my forehead while driving (and probably none if your under 5'8") so it doesn't give you any greater sense of openness - just unwanted sunshine on a hot summer day. You can get a trim level without the glass but lose other great features (namely, wireless phone charging) If I purchased one (and I might, just haven't decided yet), I'd immediately take it to get this glass tinted. It's a great car and a fun driving experience, ultimately I just need to test drive others to see if the compromises for me are the right ones to take.

Like you I have a reservation for the EV6 FE; even the same color scheme and like you I'm getting the vibe from the dealer that there will be a substantial markup. One of my arguments to get a better price is that the dealer would not have the car but for my persistence in getting one reserved for him. Time will tell. Liked your review!

A few weeks ago I bought an EV6 AWD GT-line, in the Netherlands. (Delivered upcoming March). This after almost 2 years of incessantly searching the internet and watching hundreds of review videos. Meanwhile, in January of this year, I received a new Peugeot e2008 as a company car and was able to gain experience as an EV driver. This meant that my wish list became short and my list of requirements very specific. Driving range +400km, AWD, towing weight +1500kg. Because the developments regarding driving range are too slow as far as I am concerned, superfast charging is another requirement. Especially during our holidays to other European countries. That leaves few EVs. Moreover, it is my expectation that an 800v charging structure is the future and then you better be ahead of the curve. Despite the great similarities, I never considered the Ioniq. That's mostly taste and a bit because the EV6 scores marginally better everywhere. Finally, from your video I understand that the way the car sales market works, is different from what we are used to here.

I have reserved a preconfigured and AVAILABLE Polestar 2 with Pilot Plus, 20” all season tires, and Napa Leather ventilated seats for less than my First Edition EV6 (whenever it gets here in SF bay area) after the projected dealer markup of $6,000 which infuriates me. All three cars have lousy rear visibility but the 360 cameras help. I also prefer a car that is not a Tesla, but also doesn’t have some space age design.

I own Ioniq 5 and I love it. I'd go with Hyundai over Polestar for you (larger for dog, charges faster, flexible bc ack seat, it is comfortable but it's still fun to drive on windy roads. EV6 also good but a bit smaller. I am thinking of 2023 Polestar 2 Lobg Range Single Motor Plus with faster charge speeds than AWD. Ioniq is plenty fast. But access to Tesla superchargers is why I may switch to Pokestar. Hyundai will be better lobg road trip car but both are fun. Go with Ioniq 5. Bigger, better driving aids, still fun daily driver. As I said the 2024 Mach-E And Polestar 2 are tempting me, but rgen I drive my Hyundai and come away witg a smile in my face!

for me the EV6 is the winner, I test drove the Polestar and really liked the acceleration, however it was too expensive and too small for my preference. I see so many more additional features in the EV6, like overhead display, AC seats, a great stereo system. I also snagged a reservation for the first 1500 in the US. I guess I will wait until I get a change to finally see it in person and drive it to make the final decision. I currently drive the VW ID.4 and love the car.

I'm very happy with my Polestar 2. The car just does everything I want well. I like the looks of the EV6. I'm just not feeling the Ioniq 5 looks. I think the Polestar has the nicest looks of the three then the EV6. If you swap out the tires to All Season instead of the stock summer tires, the ride softens up a lot. I also came from a Volvo, an S80. The Polestar 2 would be the slowest charging of the 3. The Polestar 2 dual motor is much faster than 4.7 seconds on summer tires in decent weather on a decent road. I've done 4.1 and 4.2 many times according to my dragy. There is also going to be a $1000 OTA upgrade, which is already available in many countries that gives about an extra 70HP and 30ftlbs of torque. I haven't seen any reviews about the 0-60 with that. I'm hoping 3.7ish

The Polestar 2 has a great design, but neither energy nor space efficiency seem ideal. I personally am drawn to the EV6 for the looks and some sportiness (if only the even more attractive Genesis GV60 were more in my price range!), but the Ioniq 5 seems the best fit for a family who takes road trips. Most practical and greatest interior space with all the benefits of the E-GMP platform. [BTW, the Carwow review ("Hyundai IONIQ 5 v Kia EV6 review - which is best?!") points out something I hadn't seen yet--EV6 front seats are mounted in such a way that there is really no foot space underneath them, perhaps restricting for a fidgety teen in the back seat.] I am also no Tesla fanboy due to interior and exterior design and questionable build quality.

Your review is detailed and on point! Thank you! We need a 2nd car too, and any other choice seems like a downgrade, comparing our current Model X to any of the series you reviewed. But I am determined to try something else. Moreso, one with the federal tax rebate. Polestar is for now in the lead.

Exactly the same trio I have on my short list here in Finland. We also have lots of Teslas around and in addition a bad service network for them (currently you have to wait for up to 2 months to get your Tesla serviced at one of the official centers). I would really love to have EV6 GT (the one with 585hp), but that is unavailable for another year or so. We have Ioniq 5 already at dealers here, but still, it's almost impossible to make the decision. I also had a chance to drive an EV6 RWD (229hp) and it was really good already with the basic trim. Steering is a little bit too light for my taste, but totally something one can live with.

Which one fits in your garage: the Polestar is 180 “ vs 182” for the EV5 for instance. Also: how interested are you in Driver Assisted driving? The Polestar is void of this and the Koreans include it. The Polestar is probably the best driving experience overall if that’s what you and Bryan are looking for.

These are some of the same choices I have on my list. For me, the Polestar is too small. I think it's roughly the size of a BMW 3 series. The EV6 looks like it's trying too hard to be a cool car for the boy racer type. So, for me, It's the Ioniq 5. Love the look and the open airy interior. Still on my list, and surprised they're not on yours, is the Audi Q4 E-Tron and the VW ID.4. BTW the Teslas are off my list for the same reason as yours. Here in the DC area Teslas are everywhere.

I just bought the IONIQ 5... mainly because of its unconventional look AND super fast charging capability of 18min to charge at 80%... Who wants to wait 1 hour to charge at the car station??? About EV6, it's nice as well with comparable technology as IONIQ 5, BUT interior of the EV6 is much more small in volume than the IONIQ 5, and the seating at lower height. I personally prefer high height seating.

My Polestar came in at 2K UNDER MSRP and with 0% apr for 5 years + 2 years free charging. The Polestar dealers are set up as on line order then pick up the price is the price and I got the 2021 2K discount that I did not know about until I showed up to get the car. I got the P2 with Plus and Pilot in thunder with 20" wheels off the lot with a 2 day wait to clean and prep the car when I arrived Friday at 4 pm They literally said "Oh" the price is chainage on your paper work we are taking 2K off we will add that to the deposit rather than redo all the paper work. I was stunned. and driving home at 5:20 . Love driving it have had the connection issues that are talked about but learned that if I push the screen "hold button " for an extra 10 seconds the system will reboot and connections issues disappear , I have done this twice in two months. The blue tooth could use an update I stream Music from a galaxy 9 and some days its horrible ( could be my old phone too) The second cup holder is removable greatly improving storage under the arm rest. My passengers can hold their own cup LOL.

Polestar 2 is based on a compromised ICE platform and consequently has an enormous transmission tunnel that makes the middle rear seat unusable - it just does not belong in an EV. Feels cramped all ends up. EV6 is my preference but I just worry that the more sporty setup is ultimately going to grate on our horribly pot marked roads in the UK. The Ioniq 5 is certainly a style icon but will it date quickly? Really don't know which one I will end up going with, but it will be Korean. The Polestar 2 is not even on my long list.

I, too, love the 80's retro look of the Ioniq 5, but it is a tad larger and more SUV-like than I wanted. My previous car was the 2020 MINI SE which ultimately proved to be too small and too short-range for my uses. I bought the launch edition of the Polestar 2 (dual-motor long-range) and couldn't be happier! It's a common occurrence on each drive to get a "What's That" or "Nice Car" comment in a parking lot or even at a stop light. The PS2 easily fits 4 adults and tons of stuff in the hatchback trunk, and my husband's Silverado is available if we ever need to haul anything that won't fit. The performance, interior and exterior design, and overall Volvo-esque quality make this a winner for me. As a Volvo-lover yourself, you won't be disappointed. BTW, you commented on the stiffness of the ride; did you test drive one with the Performance Pack? Yes, the Ohlin's in the PP-equipped models can be adjusted down to a softer ride, but the non-PP models are sporty yet compliant as-is, IMHO. Ask away if you have any questions.

My partner and I went with the 2021 Polestar 2 with pilot, plus and performance. It's an amazing vehicle and turns a lot of heads. I don't think you can go wrong with it. If you want a softer ride, you could drop the performance package but go with the 20" wheels. Good luck!

For looks and style I'd say the EV6 although I'm waiting to see the Genesis sibling before sticking to that. I like the look of the Polestar best but, like the Ioniq 5 and the tesla, you have this giant sunroof that doesn't open. Unfortunately, in the Polestar, similar to the Tesla 3, there is no sunshade. The Ioniq 5 has that, at least, but the Kia still has an optional sunroof that opens; a necessity for me on long trips for ventilation at the very least. Once you own an exclusively electric vehicle, you brealise pretty quickly that superfast charging isn't that important for two reasons. First, you rarely need to charge away from a home charger anyway and second, North America doesn't have the high speed charging infrastructure anywhere yet. Most level 3 DC chargers are nowhere near capable of the speeds these cars can accept now and, as that infrastructure is pricey, I doubt we'll see it for a while. Another strike against the Ioniq; there are no dealer installed roof racks available. What's the point of a Crossover Utility vehicle without roof racks?!?! Polestar and Kia have that option and I wouldn't want to scuff the finish on a $60.000 car with aftermarket racks.Just my 2 cents worth. I've just put the original Ioniq EV (2017) through it's 5th Canadian winter and am thrilled with the quality. I was going to trade up when I heard what was coming but, to be honest, knowing what I know now about the experience of owning an EV, none of these new models have come up with anything so much better in function or style that I can't wait to buy. I may hold out for the promised EV 6! Although this may seem like a very negative review, just based on quality alone, I'd choose any Hyundai/Kia product in a heartbeat. 5 years later, I'm still so impressed with what I have that I'm just not ready to give her up! When I finally do, unless another brand comes up with something earth-shattering, I'll likely head right back to Hyundai!

I have been going back and forth on the EV6 and the Polestar 2 and ended up just buying the Polestar 2 tonight. Kia's markups were ridiculous and they pocket the entire EV Tax Credit on leases, whereas polestar deducts it from the lease value for it (although they said if I end up purchasing it I will have my residual value increased by that amount, but at least I am getting lower lease payments!)

I would go with the Polestar 2. If you're going for a car that won't be a dime a dozen, the Polestar 2 is your best bet. It's also got a classy, elegant, yet planted and sporty design. I think it has a more timeless look that you'll always be impressed with. The Ioniq 5 and EV6 are flashy in their own ways. But I don't think they will age well, and will look dated in a few years. Also, Hyundai and Kia are volume brands. If you're seeing a lot of Teslas out on the roads right now and don't want to just be another one, give it a couple of years and you'll see just as many Hyundai and Kia EVs.

I went to a Kia dealership and was just very disappointed. First of all, the salesman did not even know the car itself and does not know what he is talking about. I have done a whole lot of research on electric cars and perhaps I can say I know more than the salesman. He kept diverting his answers to my questions about the car that I got so disappointed and walked out of the dealership. Another turn-off was, they marked up the car for over $10,000 plus shipping costs and other charges which is so outrageous.

Infact many homeowners insurance companies will not insure you if you park a electric cars or truck in your garage, plus electric car insurance itself is higher because of high fire risk. I ordered the Polestar 2 with the pilot and the plus pack in midnight. Price$59,600. The Kia EV 6 GT line was quoted at $59,739. Quoting a car with the words GT-line leaves a lot of room for price increase. At this point the polestar 2 is a better deal. I am still test driving the EV6 today just in case I like the cup holders better😂😂. I honestly didn't pay much attention to the PS2 interior as I had a Chevy Volt which by the way I loved and both have the bigger center console so it didn't jump out at me like as bothersome like some reviewers say.

Buy a Tesla model 3 any trim and it does not have it. They will charge you $300 to add it to your screen. Heated steering wheel is on top models. I bought the GT line and it has it all. Sometimes you just need to pay to get what you want.

Polestar looks like a generic, debadged American car you’d find in a B movie where they can’t afford the rights to feature a branded car.

I am just absolutely, mind bogglingly astonished at how completely and utterly GENERIC the Polestar design is. It actually hurts my brain to look at it 😣 It’s like the designers were given a brief to design the most homogenised vehicle in all of creation, and they succeeded with flying colours. Dead set, I’m honestly not sure what’s worse: An ugly car or a bland one 🤦🏻‍♂️

If you didn't talk so much about your sexual preferences the vodeo would've been more enjoyable.
