Much better description, letting others know what to expect in a larger suv. Only thing I still suggest, is getting cabin freq swept (number to go by) then having just one box inside per test (other box is altering cabin). I'm glad your following through with comments like these, your channel is growing. Keep em goin!!
TY!! I bought the twin CompR 12’s in the box (mostly through local availability and frustration), so I’m stoked that you did this review and that it was very positive….peace out..:)
Man, im subscribed to many other audio RU-vidrs. But for some reason, your videos are always the most informational and enjoyable to watch. Keep it up 👍
I have a pair of these being pushed by a Kicker 1800.1 amp and I always felt like it could be a good bit louder than it is. The car these are in probably has twice the cabin space so I need a LOT more excursion to move enough air. Your channel has definitely been a tremendous help in making me decide it's time to quit screwing around and I'm going to build a box for a pair of Skar SVX or Sundown 12s instead. Keep making such great content!
My Ford Excursion had two American bass 15s and I was hitting 145 decibels which I think is pretty good because that truck is huge I was running a skar audio 3500 watt amp and the 15th were the TNT American bass 15s which you should also check out those things slam
Great video man! Another awesome little sub is the pioneer TS-A300D4 definitely maybe something you could review in the future as a good bang for your buck sub
Love all your videos! Thanks for keeping us entertained and informed. I have a request since you have a taramp amp and lots of people have them. Would you be able to test the gain setting with your SMD. Is the built in clip signal accurate compared to SMD. Because I believe the amp goes into clipping prematurely according to amp.
I bought a 12 "Comp R 4 ohm (newest version) after watching this video. I have it paired with a Skar 1200.1D, currently have the amp set to 300 watts @ 2ohm to break in the sub and it hits hard with great sound quality in my 1.0cuft sealed box. Keep up the great work!
How is it now after break in? I bought dual 12" CompRs powered by a Kappa One 1000W in a sealed enclosure. It SLAMS. I don't know it's true potential because everything in my car rattles. I need to put in some sound deadening..hah!
Thanks man!! Man I watched this video like for the 5th time today then grabbed the d2 12. I thought I was beating with a Comp c 12 and solo round in box together.... swapped out that Comp c and GAAAAAAATDAAAAM!!🎉🔥💯
It might get a little more expensive than usual lol, but I’d like to see you review a Hutchinson neo 12, FI neo and PSI subs if possible?!? Once people upgrade from the usual suspects like skar and American Bass it seems those are the next step from what I’ve seen and what I’m considering next once my American Bass HD12s bite the dust of ever haha. Really like the build quality and looks of Hutchinson atm personally. Keep up the great work broski!
You have venting on the back of that magnet, something the recently released 48CWR124 has but the dust cover is the gray like it's the older (non-vented) 43CWR124
Parker, if u were to use Threaded Inserts or T-Nuts for securing subs so you don't put a ton of holes into your new box, do you think all of the subs would share the same bolt pattern? I would think no but you could do a few of the most common bolt patterns, making the dustcap slightly crooked for some. Lmk if I need to better explain this. Btw, if you do choose to do this, first ask me about which is better and I'll tell you why.
I just picked up a pair of these in 10” with the kicker 800w mono amp and a Best Buy sealed box. Sounds good. How much better are the Rockford Fosgate P3’s? I have a 1000w Rockford Fosgate Punch mono amp and was thinking about getting the P3’s to throw into a ported box I have on the way.
I've got two kicker comp r 12 in a kicker box with a JP23 amp and you definitely can hear me ! Thinking about replacing the kickers with skar vfx series, what do you think I should replace them with Parker?
Nice but I like the comp VR basket better. Looks like the VR has was more venting in the basket. Still the comp R hit harder wich is what's usally whats important.
Hello there Parker, Thank you for your content.. what would you say, having 2 of this 12" 500watts kickers into a 1,200k rms watts Taramp ? Would it make some hard base ??
My guy Parker with another grade A video👍🏽 Question for you Parker what's your favorite subwoofer you've owned to date ? Keep the videos coming absolutely love the content🔊🔊🔊💯 #TeamParker
Picking up a new vehicle soon, I have a sealed box with 2 CVR15's subs that weren't really used too much in my old vehicle. Thinking of reusing them in the new SUV instead of buying new LT dual box... Will I need to upgrade the OEM 190 amp alternator and battery to run this??? 800 watt rms amp for the doors too... BIG 3 getting done too.. Thanx!!!!
with over 1000w going to my 350RMS Kicker comp VR 10s I'm just waiting for them to blow lol. They sound GREAT at this power level though and pound crazy for just 2 little old 10s. I was thinking of going to this sub as a direct drop in replacement,, little more power handling and low end extension for about 20 more bucks than the VR series sounds good to me! I really want to get the Q class subs in 12s or 15s but then I gotta get a box too and wil actually need more power but I'm trying to hold out for some big pounding subs and a nice vented box come spring/summer! Thanks for these reviews man.
I have 800 watts going into two 150 watt RMS kicker 10's been at it daily for six months and still going strong actually getting stronger.Im a believer in kicker while my brother is a hater on kicker
I’m honestly trying to figure out how people are doing double than rated on these things. My Comp S before I sold it hated 500 watts and I had to fine tune my Comp R because that fucker was getting pretty warm on 800 watts. It’s doing better now since I have the subsonic filter active.
@@infiniteblaz3416 honestly, same because there's some people that have said 1000w to a comp R is fine, 800w to a comp R is fine as well, then the others say 600/700 is the max. Like I know it's okay to throw an extra 100w at it as long as you have your gains set and clean power w no distortion, but an extra 500?!
@@MrFgcfgcfgc I sold that sub long ago but yeah. I had the 12, 500 - 700 watts is really where you want to stay at for them. Anything above for the 12, you’re in the red zone. The 15 I can understand at least considering it has a higher peak power rating of 1200 or 1500 watts if I recall.
@@ParkerTheBasshead Hey Parker next video when you compare the voice coils and spiders can you go a little slower and take a few extra seconds to show them in REALLY GREAT detail? I think thats where the biggest difference are besides the cones looking different. Thanks man this kicker comparison is AWESOME!
Hey man, can you do a review of the Orion subwoofer line, I’ve got a 12 in 800 rms sub and I think it does quite well but I’d like you to review it also
Thinking about buying one of these to replace my stock sub on my SUV what would be a good amp to pair this with? Also might be adding an extra 10 inch compC what amp would be able to run both? A 10 compR and 10 compC
Hey bro in your previous videos where the subs start to "stink a bit". Would that be a burnt electronics type of smell? Mine will smell like plastic/glue/lumber sometimes but i think it is the mdf enclosure and not the subs.
Is it me or the kicker comp R sound louder than this sub? But it does have a much tighter bass than the previous subwoofer though. Definitely worth looking at.
What would say comparing a CompR to a CT Sounds Tropo, or the Skar SDR? What is better quality? I have comp R 10s. Two 2ohm. Both of them are ripping off the former. My first system so I know it's my fault.
Can you try a 15inch deaf bonce machete it's rated at 800rms and $150. If not that's cool just wanna see before I spend my money on 2 of them. Well nice reviews keep up the good work.
It's rated at 14mm xmax, so 28mm total stroke. 1" is 25.4mm. So it's over 1" total. Pairing it with the right box is important. It's a $120 sub. You don't buy it to win SPL 20Hz competitions. I have the 10" dual 2ohm version and on 500-600W @ 1ohm in a 35Hz tuned 1.5cu ft box it's perfect for creating a really good sounding daily without giving up too much trunk space.
@@paquesepas6696 You really should use kickers recommendation on box size for the specific model you are considering. They have all that info on their website.
I don’t know anything about systems but I just bought a pioneer amp a Gm Dx-8701 with this sub and idk how to get the most out of it I just want it to be loud enough how would I set it up????
Why are you using that skar box instead of the much better one right beside it? The mid to high level kickers do well in lower tuned boxes unless you are strictly going for loudness while sacrificing the lows.
I want to see you do some JL Audio series from a wo is all the way to the w6s we're W7 if you can get that far and all the little series they have in between
I’ve got a kicker cxa800.1 amp paired with 2 12” kicker comps. I want to upgrade the subs for something stronger, should I go with comp vr or comp r. My amp is 800 watts so not sure if going with comp R is the right pairing since they are 500 rms each
