Kicker Unmasked continues with an enclosure and new CompR sub coming in 2021. #KickerAudio #Subwoofer #CarAudio CompR Enclosures: kicker.fun/comprencl2021 CompR Subwoofers: kicker.fun/compr2021
Me encantaba eso jajaja. I'm seriously considering getting three of these for my new SUV ride. Enclosure determines sound quality, so yes I custom build for that!
How do I add the speaker grill? I just got my 43VCWR122 in today and am trying to add the grill but I’m unsure of what to remove to have the screws visible.
Great video. I have four of the KSC650s fully powered and this would be an awesome setup if it's not too much bass for those speakers. I juss need to do my research.
I just installed the previous model (43 series 8" R) because it was discounted and the specs looked virtually the same, I could've swore it had the venting in the magnet, did it not? I was worried about putting polyfill behind the magnet in the 1/8" gap there was between the magnet and the box. That's weird how I had the gray front and unless I'm crazy, I swear I had those vents because I was worried about them and the polyfill. I ended up making it .26 cu ft, the sub called for .40 cu ft as minimum for sealed but I put 5oz of poly and it sounds/responds great. Maybe being an 8" is why it does better about maintaining a flat response in an undersized enclosure but it surely exceeded my expectations. It replaced a 10" Sundown SD-4 since I wanted something that'd be completely hidden in the truck. I think the 8 actually sounds better, plus it's cheaper. Did I win the Kicker lottery due to you having excess 43 series cones?
I have a question about your preloaded enclosures, why do they continue to be shipped with a final impedance of 2 ohms when all of your new amplifiers are 1ohm stable?
The CXA800/400 does put out more power at 1 ohm than at 2, but all of our other 1ohm-stable amps are wired to put out about the same amount of power at 1 and 2 ohms.
my only prob with the enclosure is no speaker grills i am going to eventually upgrade my old jl audio 3 10 enclosure that is 11 years old to the dual comp r still not decided to go to 12 or stay at 10,s however i am a painter and have tools and they will eventally hit the subs. looking at buying grills is going to be 100 dollars cad on top of price wow that is alot for grills and i dont think kicker grills will save from some tools will still go through those wide openings
Where do you intend on putting the enclosure? The CompR sub enclosure was meant for power handling and volume at a reasonable price. The TRTP is a thin enclosure meant to sound good under some truck seats or in the back an SUV.
Wish I could buy the dual 2 ohm voice coil CompR in that Kicker enclosure. I asked customer service and got links to Kicker’s box makers but couldn’t find their box, or anything close to it. @kicker sell me a 2ohm DVC CompR in that Kicker box!
I ordered Kicker 48VCWR122 from Crutchfield and they paired a 500 RMS JBL amp with it. So, should I have got a bigger amp? Hits good but I keep clipping on big bass songs. Amp I turned down.
If the amp delivers 500 watts at 2 ohms, then it is an appropriate pairing. If you need help with tuning, please don't hesitate to reach out: support@kicker.com or 405-624-8510. We are open weekdays from 8-5c.
Could you tell us what size you are interested in? Here is a link to check them out. The RMS & ohm load info is at the bottom of each product page: www.kicker.com/2021-compr-loaded-enclosures
This is a good option: www.kicker.com/CXA8001-800-Watt-Mono-Class-D-Subwoofer-Amp. It makes a bit more than the RMS power ratings but is within our recommended power range.
@@KICKER-AUDIO Wow, I did order two of your 48cwr102 model, but that is impressive that you would know already when I recently just ordered on your website. Thanks...
Hey Curtis, we do go over a few products here. Which one exactly are you interested in? CompR Subs: www.kicker.com/2021-compr-subwoofers CompR Enclosures: www.kicker.com/2021-compr-loaded-enclosures
That amp is 350 watts @2 ohms. The CompR Loaded Enclosures have an RMS of 500 watts for the single 12". The Dual 10 and 12" enclosure need more than that.
I think I blew mine in 5 months. My gain was turned up a lot the other day. I think the kicker key amp I have has sensitive adjusters and I have mine in a tight space so when I removed the screw driver, it may have turned it up more. The speaker started after I noticed and turned down the gain, the speaker started smelling and it stopped hitting hard, then it started rattling.
The gain is meant to be a method of ensuring you minimize the potential for clipped input signal. If the gain is set incorrectly, it may result in a blown speaker, which is what it sounds like happened.
@@KICKER-AUDIO yeah, I was trying to get the maximum output without clipping. It never clipped, at least to my ears. I lowered the gain by a lot to where the bass hits hard and you can hear the rest of the spectrum well. The speaker sounds a lot better but you can still tell something blew. I am replacing it with a down firing 12” with the radiator. I had the single down firing 12” and that sounded really good. I am using a Kicker Key 500.1 monoblock. I was told that the amp is too small for the CompR. If kicker won’t replace it under warranty, I’m going to replace the speaker with another kicker.
@@KICKER-AUDIO I installed the compRT down fire, it sounded exactly the same. All the rattles. , In this case, turned out it was the speaker wire that was right under the speaker. I came to the conclusion that all the distortion is actually loose wired in the trunk. I will have to reorganize the trunk. I do want to replace the speaker with a 2Ohm DVC to utilize the max speaker wattage.
@@KICKER-AUDIO on second thought, this CompR sounds better, I played a few tracks and this one won in terms of bass. The bass head in me likes the CompR but the Audiophile in me likes the CompRT down fire.
Weve been told its been done before, but you'd need a dedicated subwoofer amp that puts out the proper power at the proper ohm load. You'd also need a crossover.
Not what he said. He was talking about the carpet. We went to a different grade of carpet that helps with the box sliding in the vehicle. Our older carpet was smoother.
love kickerws only speaker il use for the last 18 years never had 1 blow or fail even after rusting and long time abbuse even a broke off voice coil on a 6x9 glued it back on works fine baby KICKER FTW FOR LIFE ONLY BRAND I TRUST WELL WORTH THE MONEY ALWAYS FK THOSE POS BOSS SPEAKERS AND SONY PIONEER CAN ALLLLL SUCK IT KICKER FOR LIFE
I got 2-12 inch in ported. Thoroughly unhappy...In a small car too and bass sounds like shit. Idfk what to do just bought these subs/box so now what. Start over...in high school I would buy ol subs/box/amp and my school classrooms would shake when I was in parking lot not I spend a decent amount of money and car sounds like an uneven shitty bass crap all-around I don't even know. Literally only time it sounds ok is when it's one 1 radio station in car with perfect song I guess. Hooked up wrong? Wrong amp? Like wtf I'm about to take it and sell it and just ay fuck it but I miss it. And not to mention no CD players in new cars and everything through phone sounds like dog shit. Nothing comes close to cd quality...so that's where I'm at if anyone gives a fuck about an angry drunk trying to find a solution. Maybe start over and spend alot more money? Oh and the rattling....dynomatting car too? Fuck it I quit. So disgusted spending alot of money and being totally unsatisfied.
Did you talk to our Tech Support group? I'm sure we can help if you call us at 405-624-8510. We are open weekdays from 8-5 central time. We have box tuning software and can help you diagnose the issue. This is a free service, even if its not our box.
@@KICKER-AUDIO what would you recomend for tuning, I use pandora and I have test tones from 0db to -10 db at 40hz, which would give the most output? Also, should I use youtube to play test tones or the ones saved on my phone?
