Bondi Rescue follows the work of the elite professional Lifeguards who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. This is Australia’s real life Baywatch! Why can't he be a lifeguard? He's going to the Philippines for a couple of years, not to Mars. He can come back and try out to rejoin the team. And if he doesn't make it on this specific beach, there are lots of pools and beaches he could work for until he was accepted back.

I have a lot of respect for all of the lifeguards, and now I have a special respect for Blake because it’s hard enough sometimes to stick to your daily beliefs/morals, but then to try to further explain why he’s going away for something that most people don’t understand takes it to a whole nother level.

Ahhh yes, so much respect for a man who chooses to actively stop saving lives, to instead go to another country which already has an established culture, an established language, and an established religion, just to preach HIS way. Bravo👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Even though Filipino people are mainly Catholic.. which is just a different form of Christianity. Sooo why is he going? They’ve found Jesus lol🤔 I mean it’s better than going to a different Asian country and trying to convert them I guess. Most of the countries Mormons go to have had religions FAR older than Christianity, and it’s both disgusting and hilarious to see them try to convert a group of people who’s religion has been around since 7,000 BC😬 There’s nothing respectable about Missions.. not a single thing. Litter is a MAJOR issue with me. I was raised that you “leave any place you visit cleaner than when you came”. I scold people when I see them littering, and pick up trash when I see it. I’m so happy I live in a state where others feel the same way, and I especially appreciate it when tourists who visit us help keep our state clean.

If you get caught in a rip DON'T fight it, you will lose. Stay calm and try to swim parallel to the beach and after a few hundred meters try to reach the beach again. If that fails too wave your arms and wait for the good-looking blokes on the boards for a lift. But always stay calm and don't try to outswim the ocean.

@@ashmaybe9634 That would be an unusual occurrence, I suspect. Rips generally form where the water is running back out to sea from the beach, so they're usually more or less perpendicular to the beach line.

Ouch. I'm a well traveled solo traveler and I'd NEVER bring more than what is necessary for a day at the beach. Sticky fingers are everywhere and you should never trust strangers you just met with your stuff. Have fun, but don't take drinks, keep separate tabs and hold on to your stuff. I even swim with my valuables in a water proof backpack. Leave your passport and important letters at home.

The pain differs a lot depending on the effected area. That’s for one. Then the degree of the exposure is another factor. You cannot simply equate one injury to another.

It's almost more important than that you do learn to swim, in that case. Or at least, how to float safely in a way that uses the least amount of energy. You know those people stuck in the rips all the time? If they just stayed calm and floated until the reached the end of the rip, they would be able to swim to the side and get back to shore.

Hi bondi rescue! Most of my family are part of the emergency services and we all believe swimming is an incredibly important skill! My parents got me swimming before I was even one year old and now, 14 years later, I'm an artistic swimmer, addicted to water 😂 I'm definitely going to become a lifeguard when I'm older!

I'd say that's the same as calling 911 on a spider. If you're not a 95 yr old granny, ppl are gonna be disappointed in you. Lots of shame in misuse of emergency services. They're in their own class as lifeguards, but they're still emergency services. I hope if anyone does try that, they get steep steep charges.

As a fellow member of the LDS church, I truly appreciate the respect this show gives to Blake and his decision to serve a 2 year mission. I loved that everyone asked questions and had a healthy conversation whether they’re interested in the church or not. As any other religion we face a lot of criticism and hate so I love to see when a group of people show support and appreciation no matter what they may believe in.

They do, but from what I've heard in the show only a small part of the crew is there during the winter. Most of them have other jobs during that time.

I am 2 years late in watching and doing a marathon for this show. If Blake is to live in the Philippines and I am writing this after 2 years of the eps release, then he would’ve been back in Australia by now. Too bad for my timing 😔 could’ve seen him somewhere in the country while doing his preachings. Anyhow, I hope he had a great stay in the Asian country 😊

We have many different beliefs. But… Some of them include… Not drinking alcohol, not going on dates before you’re 16, and getting married in buildings that we call temples. If you want… I can link a website for you to go to to learn more. :-)
