These are all old comments at least 6+ years old. But I still don’t think how old the comments are had anything to do with what I’m commenting on. And that is how lame this all looked to me. Yet all these comments are saying what an awesome video this is etc. Really? What I saw was Kidd Kaos unnecessarily twisting knobs, pumping his fist, generally looking like he was having a good time, but to me when DJs / artists do their thing, usually the less they appear to be doing, the better. Because otherwise it all comes across as very phony. Like I’m watching a mashup of raver DJ and a WWF match. Because WWF is fake to the extent that they don’t really hurt the person as much as they are trying to make it look like. So all the bouncing around and leaping through the air etc. is to a certain extent choreographed. And in a weird way Kidd Kaos came across that way to me when I watched this INCREDIBLE video. Ever since some of the first electronic bands started making it big, such as Depeche Mode in 1981-ish, going to see bands such as them was an odd night out. Because you never knew what a band, without the usual guitar, bass, and drums, was going to do to make the show entertaining. Thankfully Depeche Mode, OMD, Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, etc. all figured it out and put on truly incredible shows. But evidently that got lost somewhere somehow because today’s artists are incredibly lame to watch live. Give me someone like Richie Hawten who does his thing yet doesn’t go crazy twiddling way too many knobs unnecessarily and doesn’t go berserk flapping his arms around, and you got a winner. But turn a DJ loose nowadays and they mostly looked idiotic. And I really wish it weren’t so! Because the music often kicks ass. And to me, they are just hurting themselves by acting so crazy because going crazy like that really does turn a lot of people off and they won’t discover this great music all because a DJ just had to go berserk behind the decks.
