Sorry about the wind noise...this is not my typical content.
I recently put together the KidKraft/Cedar Summit Preston playlet. The playlet itself was relatively easy to do with 1 other person...the tube slide however was next to impossible and took longer to put together than the entire playlet. This is the same tube slide included in the KidKraft Castlewood, Lookout Lodge, Preston and several other playlets.
I strongly recommend buying a box of 50 1 inch 1/4 screws at your hardware store they should run about $5. And to be clear I did use the included screws to put the individual sections together - but used the 1 inch screws to join the sections of the slide.

Just finished mine your video helped me tons. We ended up using vice grips to hold each elbow joint together then feed the screws through

I helped a neighbor with this in 2021 and told my wife, never gettig a tube slide. Yet here I am, even though i did it before 🤣

Thank you for this. My kids got one of the KidCraft swing sets a year ago and we still haven't gotten the damn slide together. I'm going to try this tomorrow

Dude this tube slide assembly is definitely the hardest. I can’t figure out where they want the little yellow tube slide support that attaches to the 4th elbow assembly (and screws to the left rear corner post). Was hoping your video would show where the tube supports are all supposed to attach. Directions say the little yellow support should attach to the clamp ring but the ring doesn’t line up anywhere near the rear corner post.

They want you to undo one of the screw in that ring to attach it. No thanks. I skipped that part. It’s impossible to get in there to do it. I weigh 185 and went down the tube slide...it didn’t move so if I didn’t mess it up my tiny 5 and 1 year olds won’t.

Mark Pappas I took one pan head bolt out of the seam that joins the two halves of the 4th elbow assembly, which was closest to where that little yellow support is supposed to attach. The KidKraft video instructions, although for an outdated model of tube slide, shows the support goes where I put it. The instruction manual says to attach to the clamp but the clamp just isn’t anywhere near it. Also, the bottom of the slide (last elbow) really jams up against the side of the fort. Surprised there wasn’t more clearance. But finally got through it. On to the roof assembly next.

malinois73 Almost every step of aligning the elbow joints of the slide were a pain. Really had to put pressure on the whole thing to get the holes to line up, even the last step. Best to stick a couple of screwdrivers through the holes to hold the alignment in place while you tighten the first screw and locking nut.

do you think the tube slide provides support to the playset? do you think you can do without the tube slide and close area off?

I recommend putting the slide together completely and then attaching to the rest of the swing set, saved me a bunch of time and aggravation

Great tip. I have an issue getting that brace to line up and no matter what I do I can't get it. I'm ready to throw this thing in the trash. Could you share some tips on that brave mounting or maybe take a quick video of how it mounted for you?

Thanks for this. Have been torn between this set and one from Gorilla. How did the KidKraft set hold up over time? Is the twisted slide still holding up? Is the bottom clubhouse big enough for kids over 5?

So far so good 2 years later. My oldest is now 7 and she still uses it often, top and bottom clubhouse.

This happened to me. Call kidkraft, they will ask you to call the place where you bought it. In my case walmart. Walmart made a refund. You send that prove of retun to kidkraft and they charge you that exact amount and sent you the box 5 of 5 which is the slide. It has happened to a lot of people. I called also fedex and they said that they lost the package.

@@mariamayon8927 Yes, After i did the process I explained in my comment above i did get the 5th box. It is the yellow slide. it comes only wrapped in plastic but it arrived like in 2 weeks after i contacted KidKraft helpdesk and sent them the receipt from Walmart showing the return of part of the money. They charge you exactly that amount on the phone. I hope this helps
