I was taught to no to step forward with my left foot against right handed opponents (I am right handed too) but I´ll try this today if my heavier and taller partner tries high grip...
I hope it works for you. Here's something that may be helpful to you as well as an enjoyable drill. A great way to come up with things that will work for you is by doing the "what if" drill. Basically, you and your partner look at a situation, position or problem that comes up in a match or randori. You now have a "what if" situation and it's really been helpful for us to work through a variety of things to come up with a viable and realistic solution to the "what if" situation.
