Going through this right now and the waves are about 3 hours apart. I’m active and and have an athletic body so I’m assuming I brought this on myself for taking in too much protein and Vitamin D and not balancing it out. This pain is very very painful! Feels like a brain freeze nonstop but in your stomach area or someone just constantly punching your ribs!

I am a GP in Melbourne Australia, we have slightly different medications available to us. However in my experience the best combination I have found is as follows an alpha blocker usually (Tamsulosin) this helps the stone pass by widening your urethra, anticholinergic medication such as buscopan forte which helps stop spasms in your abdomen. The painkilling medication I tend to use is Paracetamol 500mg (BASE ANALGESIA) take regularly no more than 4g a day. Indoced suppositories (NSAIDS). Along with a combination of slow and fast acting opiods my usual choices are to skip the weaker opiods such as tramadol and codiene and use a combination of Targin(oxycodone slow release mixed with naloxone to prevent abuse and constipation) dosage anywhere from 10mg a day to 40mg a day depending on the patient. Followed by Oxynorm (immediate release oxycodone) dosage anywhere from 5mg p.r.n to 10mg 1 cap every four hours or as required. Drink plenty of water to try and help flush the stone out along with rest. I always advise my patients to attempt to collect the stone so we can test it. Once the patient has passed the stone I always reccomend they see a urologist to try and understand why the stone was formed and how to best prevent a future stone from forming. Sometimes the urologist will suggest a change of diet or even prescribe some medications to help stop future stones. I also find that after the patient has passed a stone it is beneficial to take another day or two off work to let their body recover from the exhaustion. I usually find that patients return after passing the stones are so worn out and exhausted from the severe pain and usually lack of sleep that if they return to full work to quickly they tend to develop a cold or simply burn out in the near future. I have dull pain on lower left side of my back and fever, nausea, chills, bloating and tiredness. They are checking for ulcers and also just did a CT scan to look for stones.

I’ve also heard that calcium supplements can cause kidney stones. There is lots of articles on kidney stones on youtube.

I had my kidney stones removed 10 or so years ago. I’m a female. They returned and I’m bloating have back and lower abdomen and flank pain. Will check as I used to get reoccurring utis Will check for uti and then see what I gotta do about my stones. I do feel nausea and feel sick so I think it’s that. Been drinking water every day but today had to take 2 panadeine forte tablets the pain was so bad and rubbed deep heat cream all over my abdomen stomach and pain. Also is foot pain and swelling related to kidneys/kidney stones? Thank you

Most mornings I wake up with a pain in my kidneys usually on my right side cause that is the side I most sleep on. Its quite painfull but when I stand up it goes away within two or three minuites.

Super painful!! I passed one last wk, approx 9mm (it took 1 wk and 1 day to pass it). Pain meds worked sometimes, but not all the time. I did what Ppl suggested, drank lots of water, warm lemon water (lemons and limes), warm app cider vinegar, concentrated cranberry juice w/water, orange & apple juice. I took black oil seed twice with juice including the day it passed, used a product that has chanca piedra - Blue OrganiX via Amazon (supposed to help shrink it), walked/paced, did jumping Jacks & elliptical thru the pain (someone on youtube suggested that to help it pass out). Also lime/water/olive oil. I tried heat once and used a little massager as well. Ironically they called me 2 hrs after I passed the stone to confirm I had 2 🥴.

2008, 2011, 2015 and 2020. I've had 3 procedures this year. 2 in January/February. One a week ago that was a failure. Another treatment on August 10. I'm so over this shit. Can't function. I'm on meds that make food taste funny. The only thing that helps with pain is Advil and I'm not supposed to take it. Tylenol isn't helping. I have Percocet and Norco but can't take them when I'm at work or driving. 😖😖😖😖😖😖😖this damn stent isn't helping.
