For the first time a grandmother speaks out about what happened to her grandchildren. The mother and father are facing charges related to child deprivation. The Georgia Department of Family and Children's Services took the children from a home in what authorities describe was in a terrible condition.

I took care of my grandchildren for close to three years when they were younger. My daughter and her husband would buy food for themselves, but give the kids almost nothing. When the kids came to live with me, they were so surprised that the refrigerator was full! I feel for these kids. They do not need to live like that. :(

$1,350.00, and I've worked since age sixteen. I was given seventy dollars for myself & a newborn. I guess I have to be a BUM to get help. Although it was fifteen years ago, I still get pissed when I hear these stories so awful to treat anyone like this. If they are burning through food, COOK A MEAL!

Even though the statistics show more non color people are recipients and recieved more paid out. Just an observation.

Who in the flip gets 1350 in FS? You can take one look at these parents a tell that they are drugs users and then take a look at the house and how they are living that would be the second clue. The grandmother knew that the food was locked up away from the kids so she also knew that they house was disgusting and that the kids were not taken care of in any way. Grandma said - if they weren't being fed don't you think that they would come over here and ask for food. Ummm grandma you looking a bit shady too so I would say no they probably did not feel safe to come to you. The whole sad situation here is that these kids will be allowed to go back to their parents at some point so this will continued on. They will be taken from clean, healthy, food provided, safe homes and be put back with these horrible people to continue to ruin these kids future.

so the “ Mom”” is this grandmothers this older women’s daughter and she’s literally saying the man is a good man he works and he comes home and takes care of his kids. What’s this mom doing? What’s the wife doing? She’s not cleaning her house. She’s not cooking for her kids. she’s obviously not raising her kids and taking care of her kids and taking care of her household. This is embarrassing and it’s disgusting and you know what I’m glad she was left in that cell. I hope she sits there and she thinks about all of her horrible life choices. If I were him, I wouldn’t put up with that. I would leave her!

I have a hard time believing anyone gets this much in food stamps. Unless they have 40 kids living there or something! In CA the max is $973, and that's only if no one is working, and you have to get into a program to get a job.

$1350.00 a month in food stamps..for how many people? That’s a lot of food money. If they get that and there’s still no food in the house then somebody is not buying food with the food stamps! My goodness that’s plenty food money. You can only purchase food items with that and that should be tons of food. BTW you can also purchase seeds to grow a garden with. Was there a garden out there? Tomatoes,cucumbers,squash,beans ect?

I have a neighbor in my apartment complex just like these parents… dad works all the time and mom stays home and NEGLECTS the kids… they smell and are dirty all the time and never being supervised while outside… 😕 ive called cps and they didn’t seem to really care… the system is fukn broken… does a kid have to die for the state to realize someone needs help? 🤨

I am glad that for once police stepped in and removed poor innocent children from the life of hell they are existing in. I also applaud the Grandmother for getting the police there in the first place. Then MAYBE just MAYBE mom could get off of her BUTT and take care of her kids better. Mom could use some help with what? She wasn't doing a single thing to begin with. NOTHING. She didn't clean obviously- herself or her house. She didn't feed her kids. Maybe she shouldn't have had all those kiddos if she wasn't able to provide for them. Are you saying that the Government needs to figure out how to continue to support drugs addicts who don't work or care for their kids properly?
