I will buy anything off a kid selling stuff lmao. One time a little boy in my neighborhood said “do you want to buy some tomatoes?” He had nothing in his hands and no table or stand but I said, “Sure, how much?” He said, “I don’t know.” So I gave him $5 on faith. He runs away and comes back a few minutes later with a random amount of beautiful homegrown tomatoes. Thanks to that kid’s mom and her garden. Don’t know if he had permission but those were good tomatoes.
We did the same as you. A boy scout and his dad were selling popcorn, in Texas. We got a large box. Hubby gave the boy $20 and told him to keep the change. The smile we received was all the change we needed
Popcorn is pretty expensive compared to girl scout cookies in my area, im surprised there was change😂. Its like 8 bucks for popcorn and 4 or 5 for girl scout cookies.
I'm sayin!!!!! When my niece was small, she would color coloring pages and sit outside my grandma's and sell them. Only an old biker bought some! He told her he was going to put them on his fridge ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

ABSOLUTELY!!! Anytime I see kids putting in effort towards anything positive and productive, outside away from technology I fully support it. 2 years ago my neighbors kids were selling "homemade" lemonade. (they had mixed bottled lemon juice with granulated sugar and ice water) they had the right idea but their ratios and process were way off. So I got the bag of lemons from my fridge and a sleve of cups and helped them out. We made signs and took turns at the corner directing cars. I was so impressed with my neighbors. After 3 hours they each ended up with $30!!!! They even offered me a cut and to reimburse me for my lemons (which I obviously declined). I had as much fun as they did. Just the other day the younger of the two asked me if we could do another stand this year. She thought we should get some raspberry's to fancy it up this year lol. 💜💜💜
Passed one last summer as soon as I’d started my diet, I gave them a five and told them to give some lemonade to someone they thought needed it! Those kids were ecstatic!
Nothing gives me more pleasure than supporting these lemonade stands and church/school car washes. It shows they're willing to work for what they want.
Awesome! I did the same thing last week. A little girl was selling lemonade with the help of her dad. I stopped by before work and bought a cup and gave her money for two cups.
I was so excited to see kids on my street set up a lemonade stand a few summers ago. I work from home so I saw them set up around 9am. One older kid probably 12/13, then 2 younger maybe 6-8. They all worked together to haul out a table, get it all set up with signs, their lemonade and would walk to the front and check it out multiple times to make sure it was just right. They stayed at that stand ALL DAY. I usually walk my dog out back, but that night 6pm we went out front to check out the stand. I had exactly 3 $10 bills in my wallet, and I never carry cash so it was perfect. I got my cup and handed them each their tip. I let them know I’d seen their persistence all day and they let me know I was their first customer. That just made me sad. We live in a townhouse neighborhood. We’re all fairly close to each other and don’t have private yards so it’s not an area where we’re all kind of in our own bubbles, nope, we’re all next to each other with no private yards. There’s plenty of people in this small space who could easily see the lemonade stand, not even including the thru traffic we get bc of 2 major companies less then 5 miles away. Who wouldn’t love a cold cup of lemonade after walking a bit from your job to the parking lot miles away? I thought for sure these kids would’ve made a killing. They kept it up for a few days, literally sitting at it all day, no breaks for playing. So please, if you happen to see kids selling lemonade, just stop. You don’t have to drink it, just buy it and dump it out later. It’s not about the product, it’s about the experience, for both sides.
I did this same thing with my cousin we decided to sell lemonade near a famous dog park in my area and a Karen came up to us and told us we shouldn't be selling lemonade to dogs and that it's bad for them, we tried explaining that weren't selling it to the dogs but she completely ignored us and actually called the cops on us my cousins mom(my aunt) had to explain to them what happened and the Karen got arrested for wasting the polices time 😂
Not only letting kids be kids but it’s a fantastic opportunity for them to learn about budgets, earning money, marketing, and other entrepreneurial skills. Not to make them into sales people but just so they begin to learn about money and that it doesn’t just appear out of nowhere is important. Also, it keeps them very busy with planning, prepping and making signs without spending hours on screens.
So should they be taught what a business tax is? and how you can be fine for selling consumable good in unsanitary environment. Also not having the proper license to sell good.
My kids love having lemonade stands. I told them that technically they are illegal. My daughter asks then why do police officers buy lemonade from us? 😂

When I see kids with lemonade stands in my neighborhood I get so excited. I make sure to buy something, tell them how smart and strong they are. Encourage them to always work hard and let the parent/s know what a good job they’re doing. One year there were a couple kids that set up a Slime Stand and I bought some slime and told them how innovative their idea was. Support the Children
💯 agree. I have food allergies so I can’t eat what their selling BUT I always give them (usually Boy Scouts or girls scouts in my area) $20 and say “buy your favorite flavor (of cookies or popcorn) and keep it yourself & eat it later. Youve been working so hard today you deserve it.” The smiles ❤ their so happy & excited. Some of them even promise to eat one “in my honor” since I can’t or describe the flavor or texture to me 😂 adorable
As a mail carrier when we come across a lemonade stand on our route, we hit the group chat to let our fellow carriers know they're out there because we absolutely LOVE lemonade. Sometimes we'll all park and take our lunch to get lemonade together. We call that a union meeting!

There's a kid in my town who does a big 3 day stand and raises money for local charities and donates it. Last year he raised over $500 for the local humane society so this year he branched out and added the Boys And Girls Club and I believe one of the local nursing homes as well. I haven't heard how much he raised yet, but he does it during the city wide garage sale for peak business.

My city it was a kid selling hot dogs to raise money for school or something innocent. Somebody called the city. City gave him a permit instead of a citation and people donated to get him a hot dog stand with heat, steamer tray, etc. He's having a blast and the line for a hot dog is around the corner!!!
I was visiting my mom and saw what looked like a lemonade stand with several cop cars and a number of cops around it. Sure enough the cops heard about the lemonade stand and immediately drove over to serve due justice by buying lots of refreshments on a hot day.

Omg there was a lemonade stand by a garage sale that had a drive through, you could choose raspberry or regular and they matched your straw to your flavor and you got a LID! It was so dang fancy! I was so impressed we made a big old deal out of it, all bought 2 and tipped heavily! It costs nothing to celebrate these kids! The four year old was so darn excited she cried to her mom.
I have a no uncoverd cup rule in my car but I always pull over & give them a couple bucks if I see kids out selling lemonade. I live in OK & if the kids want to be out in 105 heat they deserve a couple bucks.
I used to sell lemonade to my neighbors. It absolutely made me feel important and special as a child. My mailman used to stop on his route to get a lemonade and leave a “tip” which was 50 cents 😂 I miss those days ❤ I’ll always stop to support!!
it bothers me so much when ppl don’t let kids be kids. honestly lemonade stands are entertaining, satisfying, and for kids to feel like they have to work to earn something is a gentle push in themselves teaching them about grown up life. but at the end of the day.. it’s a lemonade stand! not that deep! karen’s need to chill out
i always wondered why adults would drive by and give me a $5 and say “keep the change” whenever i had a stand up when i was young, and now i just know that they were good people. my neighborhood is nice.
We see lemonade stands so infrequently now that I always stop when I see one. My son's kindergarten teacher use to post on Facebook when her daughters would have a lemonade stand and we would always go over. They also made and sold homemade popsicles. Fancy ones with fruit in them. They would pick a local charity and donate all the funds. I miss that stand
