@@lorenacabrejos7203 no, he’s been amazing this whole time and he’s just now getting awards. he’s been here since before 2010 and over 12 years later he’s getting awards
@@carnagecandycos Definitely he is been there since home alone 1990. He’s been also nominated for Emmy and Golden Globes and other awards. Think he’s underrated I love the talented Culkins, Macaulay, Kieran and Rory!
What an absolute sweetheart. He is understandably a little jittery/nervous and obviously excited to be hosting, which shows how much he cares. Then at the end of the monologue he throws an air kiss to his wife and mouths "I love you." Adore his energy. His vibe and comedic timing are a perfect match for SNL; what a great pick for a host. Also, WATCH SUCCESSION! He is amazing in it, and the series as a whole is just expertly cast. Side note: HBO Max also has Igby Goes Down currently available. It was the first movie that I saw him in. His innate snark is wonderful in it.
My husband and I are halfway through season 2 right now, at the part where PGM backed out because of the Cruise scandal. And I’m desperately trying to fight off the urge to google if something more happens between Roman and Gerri. She’s the only one who “gets” him, but my husband swears they wouldn’t do that, it would be weird.
I just watched Igby goes down...GREAT MOVIE... he is such a great actor as well! Omg... I am like eager to watch more of his movies little by little. And today I juat finished Succession... KIERAN IS AWESOME!
You can tell that Kieran was really nervous here by his body language. He kept moving his hands and arms behind his head during the beginning but he still killed the monologue!
First, Macaulay Culkin hosted back in the 90s' during the time of Home Alone. Now, his little brother Kieran Culkin has hosted SNL from his own show, Succession. Great family legacy for the SNL history books!
@@theponickingdom2836 Well the "job" in question, hosting SNL, is one that requires you to be an ultra famous star so it's not like he's taking a job opportunity away from struggling connection-less applicants. anyway, he got chosen to host SNL because of his two-time Emmy-nominated role playing the most charismatic character in Succession, one of the most talked about shows of the moment. It makes sense to have him host.
@Christina It definitely is. It’s the first show I have really liked since Kitchen Nightmares and West Wing before that. Lol. I just don’t get into the crime/lawyer/hospital/zombie stuff. NONE of that has ever appealed to me. So I am happy I have at least one show to entertain me! The latest episode just got released 10 minutes ago so I am about to watch it! Cheers!
I kept seeing him a movies and was like “he look just like macaulay culkin” lol never thought to check google and see if Macaulay had siblings,I just assumed he was an only child lol
I love Kieran. Along with Nicholas Braun, he is easily the funniest character on Succession. I really hoped he’d win Best Supporting Actor at the Enmys last year. I suspect he finished 2nd. Maybe he’ll take it home for this season.
Best Performers for me by season so far: Season 1 Alan Ruck Season 2 Matthew McFadyen and Nicholas Braun (the show’s true power couple) Season 3 Jeremy Strong
The Culkin brothers are so underrated. They all in their own right have done well for theirselves in their own lanes. Obviously “Mac” is the most well known and as such as gotten the lions share of good and bad press, but I’m glad that in the last several years he’s gotten a shit ton of good press and looks (as well as doing) great. Here’s to hoping we get to see them all on camera together either in a movie or hell I’ll even settle for a tasteful reality tv show 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃 (I know tasteful reality tv is a huge long shot lol).
you know at some point, macauley said to his family, "call me MAC". i had a friend named robbie in grade school. i saw him later in life and he told me in a deep voice, "it's not robbie anymore, CALL ME BOB"
@@jayupstateny13650 well I have heard him being called "Mack" as a child in many interviews. And it is very understandable. His name is Macaulay after all, it is hard to pronounce over and over LOL
Kieran Culkin did a very good job hosting SNL. He had been on the stage when he was 9 years old and his brother Macaulay Culkin hosted the show back on November 23, 1991, 30 years ago. Also in the goodnights, he got the uppies again by Chris Redd and Kenan Thompson. You're the man. 👏👏👏🏻👏🏻😄😄🤣🤣
Well he definitely ad libbed when he made the “you wish” comment to Shiv as the comeback to her date rape comment. Still laugh that they kept that in. And I’m pretty sure his comment to Logan in the premier this season on the tarmac after Logan tells Roman to suck his d^ck was ad libbed.
He's grown up into a handsome young man. The first thing I remember seeing him in was "The Mighty." Great movie, and I *still* sob like a baby at the end!
The Culkin siblings perhaps have some of the strongest familial resemblance compared to most celebrity siblings. And that's counting the Baldwins, the Olsens, and the Hemsworths.
It was season 17. The musical guest was this band called Tin Machine. The episode before it was hosted by Linda Hamilton (who was in the second Terminator movie) with musical guest Mariah Carey and the episode after it had MC Hammer as host and musical guest (with special appearances by Christina Ricci and Jimmy Workman as Wednesday and Pugsley Addams from the live-action Addams Family movies they had at the time). The three sketches Kieran was on as a child were "The 'Makin' Copies' Guy as a Kid", "The Chicago Superfans Thanksgiving Special", and this one-shot sketch where Chris Farley plays a medieval scalder teaching his son how to pour boiling oil on castle invaders. Of the three, the Superfans one is the problematic sketch because it had Kieran dressed as a Native American and smoking a peace pipe. And if you want to see the actual episode, it's available on Peacock.
And they did lift him up. Kieran was scheduled to host again on one of the last two shows of the season (Jennifer Coolidge was to host the season finale) but the Writer's strike happened. I hope they're re-scheduled for next season.
Don’t know who that is or what show he’s on. But I’m happy for him and his family, he seems like a really happy many & very focused, fortunate & hard working.
He's my favorite character on Succession! He really embodies the "I'm entitled douchebag". He's so good that it's hilarious 🤣 That being said, it's also scary to know that the one percenters are almost always going to be douchebags.
i've never really seen any of his shows or movies but i do remember him as the brother from home alone. he was young then so it doesn't really show his character. from this monologue, he seems like such a genuine and sweet person. really looking forward to watching the rest of the episode!
Yes, I’m here because of Hot Ones, lol. And I’m also going through an emotional meltdown right now, because I’m two years younger than Macaulay, so the home alone franchise was a HUGE part of my childhood. I even still watch it till this day, as it’s the only film from my childhood where my 38 year old side doesn’t rear its head, saying “this is dumb!” as I watch it (like it did with ET a couple of years ago). And here I am 31 years later watching Macaulay’s little brother take the world by storm as Roman Roy. Wow.
Logan and Roman are my favorites on Succession. And I’m lovin’ the Roman/Gerri connection. I can hardly wait for the next episode. If you’ve never seen it, check out Brian Cox (Logan) as Hannibal Lector in Manhunter; he’s awesome.
Kieran was an excellent host -- he fit right in with the cast (and he reminded me of Daniel Radcliffe). I am so glad that he got lifted up at the end of the show.
He was awesome as Wallace in Scott Pilgrim 😁 of course I've also seen him in other movies, like Home Alone (as Kevin's cousin) and others, but none left as much of an impression as Wallace 😎
Kieran Culkin did a very good job hosting Saturday Night Live on November 6, after his brother Macaulay Culkin hosted SNL on November 23, 1991, during the show's 17th season. 30 years later, he got the uppies again, this time by Chris Redd and Kenan Thompson. This is amazing. 😄😄👏👏
