OMG time, in spades! It's not until you see the videos like this, that you really can appreciate the incredible scale on which these processes are taking place! We, as humans, are like ants on a giant dung-heap with a week's accumulations at the local dairy. The energy and scale of these natural events are SO MUCH more vast than anything we can do, short of the unacceptable nuclear annihilation of humanity.
Yeah, and I've already seen one posting (on an Icelandic site) in which someone claimed they were linked - in the manner depicted in Jules Verne's "Journey to the Center of the Earth." As Carl Sagan so eloquently put it nearly three decades ago, "We live in a society exquisitely dependent on science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology. This is a prescription for disaster. We might get away with it for a while, but sooner or later this combustible mixture of ignorance and power is going to blow up in our faces."
