Fantastic video thanks. Me and my daughter have booked with Africasafari and having a very similar trip with the safari and Zanzibar holiday afterwards in 8 weeks time. We have booked the 6 day on Kili so missing the Karanga camp, I hope that doesn’t have a detrimental effect on our chances of success for summit night! Excited but also apprehensive! Thanks again for great video, any hints or tips for any part of the trip would be greatly appreciated.
Rachel Williams I think you will make it, it’s all in your head! If you really want to reach the summit you will. Eat all food you can get, because you really need the energy. Same with water. Dont forget the extra layers in case of cold weather and all clothes should handle water. And also, dont bring unecessery stuff, the porters are not machines. If you can you should also tip your guides and porters as much as possible. It’s small money for you but a really big differense for them. And of course, enjoy the scenery. Thanks for watching
Looks great. You went at a time when it had snowed. I did the climb up To Uhuru Peak in July but by the all the snow had melted so didn't get the full experience
Harshil Gudka Yeah we were very lucky. The rainseason should have started two weeks before we arrived but the monsoon didnt show up until our last day on Zanzibar. It started to rain for a few minutes exactly when we signed out and left the Kilimanjaro national park (What are the odds?) but we still managed to get the full experience thanks to the bad weather conditions and cold temperatures on the summit the day before our ascent. Its done in Mars - April. You can see the dates for each day in the video. This period is cheaper but most likely results in monsoon rain season. We were lucky this time and the rain season was late. /Emil

We booked the trip with a danish/swedish company called Afrikasafari, which is working together with Zara tours in Tanzania. The first hotel in Moshi is named Springlands Hotel, and the hotel we stayed at during the safaris is named highview hotel in karatu ngorongoro. The last hotel in Zanzibar is named Bluebay bech resort.
