Love my KDD HEADS!!! So far so good. Just finished 8000 mile round trip. No issues. Kdd heads, kdd coated and delipped pistons, Callies stage 2 cam and lifters, exotic headstuds, scorpion turbos, oem rocker arms, billet bridges and mini maxx tuner.
Jared is a great dude. I have an early set of his heads when he just started out and they have been great! He is a class act and helped me through a problem totally unrelated to his cylinder heads. Great guy and best of luck to him. Charlie's turbos are badass and my stage II is awesome and was very helpful with my 175/30 recommendations from WDI. Thank you to both for being stand up vendors.
Just wondering on how hard your loading that SBC lifter with the extra valve seat pressure and has this elluded to any excessive cam wear? Especially at hard continuous load towing over the rockies??
The lifters used in the 6.0 are Mahle and are very robust from the factory. We have tested the heavier springs for years on high HP/TQ trucks with great success, zero issues. Typically with heavy towing, 120lbs springs are not needed. Our testing has been all over the US including high elevations.
On the aluminum stage 2 heads are there any hp and tq gains? I just got a set and the shop are just finishing up my truck. I matched it up with kdd stage 2 cam and all upgrades. And to top it off I also got a twisted diesel stage 3 transmission from them too. Thanks for all your work
Why does the industry not use aluminum for the heads as a whole more ? I would love to see a cummins aluminum heads. I too use a boring bar when doing orings on my personal heads. I always wondered why more people dont do it like that . I like using a much thicker oring than whats recommended with normal amount of protrusion . I have a dailly driver Cummins that sees 90 psi and takes it like a champ.
Do those deep valve pockets allow more valve overlap and more airflow at high RPM? Seems like a better solution than having deep cutouts in the pistons.
Waited 8 months being told each month heads will be available next month. Finally was 2 more months. Who knows if that's true. I'll never do business with kdd again.
@@KCTURBOS after looking at the KDD heads and power driven heads they actually look pretty similar. Both come ported and have O rings and appear to have larger exhaust valves. The KDD heads are definitely more cost effective though! 🤔
Are you asking if these heads have bronze valve guides? They do not. From KDDs website: "The iron matrix valve guides are diamond honed to size leaving a smooth cross-hatch finish in the valve guide similar to the cylinder bore, which provides superior oiling and wear resistance in the demanding diesel application"
KC TURBOS yeah that’s what I’m asking. The guides on stock heads from Ford/International wear out quickly. I see a lot of aftermarket head manufacturers spec bronze.
Just hope you don't need um in a hurry...... I looked for 2 weeks for a set of kdd aluminum heads AND\OR promaxx aluminum heads and NOBODY in the whole USA had them on shelf..... A diesel supply shops "in stock" is not our "in stock"
